  1. I have seen bigger shot bigger and seen three bigger stud together hes a nice animal but not massive.
  2. I feel it could work with out any problem we have 3000 fully trained deer stalkers at this very minute what is stopping this number doubling the costs. Cash and elitism have always stopped the average Joe getting in to stalking. There would be no problems with the idea except that the top men don't want it. Its down to one thing Greed.
  3. bE VERY CARFUL HE HAS HAD REAL BAD PRESS BEFORE MAKE SURE YOU LAND HAS DEER AND YOU HAVE FULL RIGHTS TO BE ON ITS YOUR TICKET READ THIS http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/foru...opic.php?t=7525 POST THE SAME QUESTION THERE ALSO
  4. The morning for me is the best time like said if you have a bad day you got hours to find what you messed up it is nice knowing that the light is getting beter not worse. Best of luck but may i say if you are asking about what time of day to shoot Reodeer take abit of time to study there habits and movment.Taking the shot at an animal you know well and can preditct its next move is a real help when stalking roe deer .
  5. Joe flat ground is a problem and certainly needs a bit of though but a few well placed high seat will put you at a perfect angle to shoot a beast and keep the cops happy. Even if your ground is split in half 250 acres is plenty of ground to have a centre fire on. Just do a risk assessment and tell them you want clearance on it they cant refuse.
  6. That's a massive head and a 28 + cm head is trophy of a life time for most to put it in perspective for you .My gold is 25.8 cm and my silver is 23.5cm. Get it done and sell it on ebay if it don't have much hold on you a silver of mine fetched 200 pounds a few years back.
  7. Sounds like you had a ball well done and i hope the Scottish hospitality was to your liking
  8. [Well done lad and a very fine shot at the right distance and ill bet you had a smile as wide as the clyde
  9. Try the BDS site they had a few small videos with sounds not long ago.
  10. Jager you are a soft poof and the mile of people wanting to punch me out seems not so long when i look out my front door .With regards pm it means private message and the one you sent me i would not put up because it might up set the rest of the hardened hunters on here.Only a brain dead tit would put a private message up on the front boards wanker Now go and play with your dolls. If you want to throw shit make sure its facts and it is your opinion ass hole.
  11. Nic e one mate mine is still in the shed waiting for a shield like that
  12. Sorry Murph i thought the one in the bottom picture was the one you got assessed and by the look of the bottom picture there were only small remnants of velvet left but happy days with the silver.
  13. [scot rat just because you have met me dose not mean you know me and for you to take the stories of Neil and pass them on a forum as true was just foolish. With regards the stalking i have access to munites and CWD at a small cost of coarse. With regards you shooting skeoch i hope you enjoy it i found it hard work now with my age and size. But i will give you access to some of my more profitable ground the same ground produces about 2 medals a year. i will be out on saturday morning you are welcome to come for a walk. Now while you throw wild accusations that you cannot substantiate maybe you
  14. With regards the thread it is still my opinion that combat type patterns have no place in the deer stalking world and only puts people against us like they have been against the lurcher lads and terrier lads. We need to look at our sport not only from our point of view but from others there are people out there that will only judge people by what they see and here not by what the real person is and thats a sad reflection. Also the threat to phone the police instead of sorting out problems face to face can only lead to problems as every one know the police do not like to have there time waisted
  15. [Now that's deformation of character combat man foxdroper With regards lam ping deer at the whitlee not a chance i wouldn't dream of it. Its my ground and i shoot the deer as i like why would i lamp deer not my type of thing. I don't even like lamping foxes any more bores the tits off me but needs to be done to keep me as number one for the area . With regards steeling form you Rat i wouldn't dream of it but i am told that The gun shop owner you refer to is a bit pricey Now the statement you made regards me and a guest was a down right lie and i can assure every one of that. You really
  16. Tel this chap what you want to do he will tel you what you need he is one of the top men in the FC His name is Ian 07733001686
  17. [scot Rat you certainly are a piece of work most of the chaps i know wouldn't dream of phoning the police they would sort it them selves but yes i do lamp legally and i have lots of ground round the whitelees wind farm. I have never been on ground owned by course hill farm but the foolish old man there has the green eyed monster syndrome not a nice thing to have but hey that's life.
  18. It should make bronze Martyn and it is funny because the heads in that area are similar this one was shot in may this year.
  19. Mub i made them mate just a couple of bits of hazel they work for a rest and for an old man like me to lean on when the going gets tough. I don't know if i can keep posting now i have been ta rd with the poachers brush (scot rat) but for me if the police say i am a good guy then who am i to disagree.
  20. [David yes he is happy and he is also happy that this might be the first medal Roe deer he has shot .His words (it dont matter if its a medal it was a good stalk ) then he says do you really think it will make a medal.Says to me he is keen it dose OK and i am chuffed for him . He has a medal red deer a silver so this will go well with it,
  21. [He was we think middle aged there were two buck in the same area and this one was the only one to present a shot. He will i am sure make a medal but it will be in the bronze category. The buck cleaned out head off weighed in at 42 llb and the longest antler is 23.5 cm
  22. [ Martyn don't be a silly boy and join in with Scot RAT i had you down as a far better person than that . With regards poaching sorry mate i don't do it but hey you being a professional games keeper wouldn't trust any one. With regards camouflage it seems strange to me that the public view it with distain and look at people waring it with discussed. This might be because of the types that normally ware it. WHEN YOU DO WORK LIKE I DO YOU DONT WANT TO UPSET THE LOCALS SO A WORD FROM THE WISE DRESS ACORDINGLY. The right way to dress and stalk lets keep the proper profile.
  23. Like the title says this was a nice buck taken with a real nice guy a friend of long standing and a keen deerstalker. We had a good stalk we spotted the Buck at 300+ mtr and had to work hard to get close the final stalk took us in to 60 mtrs now that's stalking at its best (up close and personal )
  24. Unlacedgecko the ability to spell is something that passed me buy probably caused by the amount of times i strayed away from school .The reason was the country side and still is some 40 years on. It dose not need to be tweed although that is the material i chose because of its durability. Any clothing that is silent and drab in colour will do.leaf patterns and the like have never made it into the forces shelves so for me its not the camouflage i would pick. BFTB the FIRST LINE I WROTE ON MY LAST POST WAS WRITEN BY YOUR SELF AND WAS THERE TO PROVE YOU WERE WILLING TO SHOOT A RIFLE WITH LIMITED
