  1. The statement made by the minister who is in charge of this bill has had to take stock of what he said and it seems that his words of the public are concerned over safety issues after there had been 4 deaths due to deerstalking in scotland .This information was passsed to him by the DCS and was also used as scarmongering tactics in there many public consltations. Well as i said there have been none and the few accidents there have been have been down south and none of them were from deerstalker. Will they now put out a statements in the press to apologise for any upset this has caused and wi

  4. [ iT SAYS THAT ANYONE THAT HAS DONE TEST MIGHT GET GRANDFARTER RIGHTS. SO MIGHT SOME THAT HAVE BEEN STALKING AS A JOB FOR EX AMOUNT OF TIME. THEY DO NOT RECOGNISE DMQ SAYING IT DOSE NOT COME TO THERE STANDARD OF WHICH THEY WILL NOT SAY THE SGA ARE TO DO THE NEW TESTS AND THAT PROB WHY WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM OR THE NGO. THIS WILL MAKE THIS TEST AND ORGANISATION A MONOPOLY AND WOULD LEAD TO THE TESTS COST SOARING SO THEY CAN KEEP BRINGING IN FRIENDS AS HAS HAPPEND WITH THE DCS. FOR SOME ONE THAT THEY KNOW DOSE IT OK AND 250 FOR THE ONES THAT ONLY HAVE LEV ONE OTHERS WILL NEED FILLY
  5. I spoke to my MSP today and asked him about the revelations with regards the new legislation for deer stalkers. He didn't have a clue and did say that they rely mainly on advisers in this case the DCS. I said that i was worried that we (SCOTLAND )Would loose a lot of credibility with regards the foreign visitors. Not to mention a major amount of the 130 million pounds that field sports put into the failing economy.Any way if we don't contact our MSP /MP THEY WILL NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS SO PLEASE GET IN TOUCH GET A MEETING AND ASK HIM TO ASK THE RELIVANT QUESTION THAT WE NEED ANSWERD.
  6. [ABOUT 10% BUT IF YOU WEIGHED IT AFTER A MONTH IT WILL NOT LOOSE MUCH MORE ITS DONE MOST OF ITS DRYING WELL DONE NICE HEAD IT IS IN THE MEADAL CATAGORY
  7. The loden one is crap unless you only take one or two deer a year. They just can't cope they look good and i am sure you could do a bit of posing in one .But when it gets to the sharp of stalking and it needs to get to work it gives up. I have the harkila and its ok a bit of a pain with all the fecking straps folding etc but compared to the rest its is as good as i have used.noise is a problem with it some times. ps Duncan at Glasgow field sports dose them for 50 notes.
  8. Sorry scotty your wrong mate if it was a simple as that then no one would be that botherd they are in this law takeing full control even of government lands parks recreation areas etc. It will mean you need to sit a new test one set by the DCS dmq will not be the entry level. QUOTE FROM JAMIE HAMMOND. (While there are some good areas coverd by the dmq 2 it is by by=no means the answer to compitent stalking and has alot of failings that we will address. Asked what the new test will be Answer quote (we will only decided this once we have full control ). Asked what about the REGISTER an how it

  10. I cant go with this time crap as deer don't have watches but one hour after the dawn seem,s to be good but nice to be in place while it is still quite dark it lets things settle.
  11. Well done that man always good to get the first one down sounds like you had a great time.
  12. Are we not going over the top here lads these are young boys and should be taught the right ways to do things. Words like castration them beat them up and whip them should be reserved for real criminals. Not to long agao i can remeber being out after foxes in the spring with terreirs and only a spade as a dispatching tool. i will bet the papers would have loved the pictures of me in my youth trying to kill cubs after sorting out mum and somtimes dad. LET HE WHO CAST THE FIRST STONE .and all that.
  13. My Ground dont tell me its great because its the pits but dose hold a few deer and it gets me out a few times a year.
  14. I am sorry but the view is shit and a view i have seen hundreds and hundreds of times block planting and regeration pine trees dose not float my boat at all.Its just a blot on what should be a beautiful areas.
  15. What is this about is it real or is there some one trying to whip up hysteria
  16. [Looks like he still has a lot of his winter coat in now that's got to be a bad sign for a buck of his size good job you shot him .Did he have any signs of infection on his lymph .nodes.
  17. Wooly i took a chap out one that had a similar type set up he was in fact a gun maker. He came up for a stalk and might i say his sticks were very impressive . They were the quad type and he said that he could shoot tight groups at 200 mtr . This same chap could shoot in comp,s 500 mtr target with ease after getting his portly body up some of the hill we got in to a nice buck he got on his sticks and hey the buck ran out 20 mtrs and stop so he lifted his sticks off the ground and stuck them in again only to find the deer moved again and so on. He through the sticks down and lay on a stone dyke
  18. If you have shot a lot of things of single and double stick but find you are very unsteady and can afford the extra time weight and messing then the quad sticks are for you. If you want to shooting properly then a set of sticks is what you want and practice off them till your good enough to go deer stalking. If not don't shoot at an animal.
  19. Well i found it a good season to date and have only 4 more Bucks to take from my section of ground the young buck cull was easy to do plenty about. In fact i might just add a few more onto it as i keep seeing the little buggers. Some nice big bucks also but i will wait for the rut to get into them. What part of the country are you at.?
  20. Nice to see something different you are lucky . I am sure if something turns up that is off the norm over the next few years you will know what has happened.
  21. I took a chap out on saturday for an AW stalk he got up to this big fella but didnt get his act quite right so he lives to tell the tail. nO DOUBT SOME ONE WILL TAKE HIM LATER IN THE SEASON .hope fully after the rut.
  22. [You have ran the bleach up on to the coronets mate that will ruin it but there is a mixture that can fix it i fix a pair for Remmy he might show you the secret
  23. John they are fascinating to me also and for the life of me i cant see why .Because i cant eat them and you can only put one or two up on the wall before they look out of place. I like heads to be true 6 pointers in roe as this for me is a beast that is in his perfect condition. I shot this wee buck this morning and he had an extra antler i will boil him out and see what caused it.
  24. No most of the young bucks have been in good nick and there weights have been up with the last few season. It could be down to bad management that the young ones are not doing well.Shooting to many big does and leaving kids to fend for them selves. Scotland has got it right if you shoot a big doe you can shoot her dependants even if they are male.Stops all them punny bucks running around.
  25. Mine went to richard prior and i must admit to getting a good service i got the score sheet and the official certificate from the CIC. I think he is still the best and doesn't seem to have an axe to grind against honest hard working deerstalkers like some.
