  1. I've shot up to 150+ with it easily, and we have checked the ranges after the shot) Young man your name says it all its time you grew up and stated acting your age
  2. [i see the pictures were while out lamping do you really think that real tree helped I don't think so not one bit with regards the best has yet to come i hope so like your first hard on and your first legal drink and to realise that 150+meters for a rimmy at a fox is to far. Your the type of chap that foxdropper loves to take out because he can impress you with his vast knowledge and you can compare real tree patterns
  3. [shit you know what i take it all back some people do were camo on the open hill and they blend in so well .iT WAS LUCKIE THE DOG WAS IN THE PICTURE CATCHER or for the life of me i would never have made your shape out
  4. Martin you are half right mate that is a stag i shot and one of the few wild golds shot in 2007 the chap in the picture is only there to hold the massive head up i was to weak to lift it. Now if you want to ware real tree that's fine and for most it is about the posing they only get one or two deer a year. I call it deer happening and that's because any one can do it you just walk about alot and hope to bump a foolish deer who for some strange reason stands in the same place long enough for any fool to shoot it. Plantation require alot of skill and the right equipment is essential that inclu
  5. Sorry mate no pictures for me i cant get close enough to a deer to shoot it i was wearing the real tree to long and now i am in the habit of coming home empty handed. With regards getting deer there are areas that have lots and that are very easy to get that will not be the same in a plantation that is were you need to be at the top of your game. That's why i am trying to point the new lad in the correct direction. Or may be you could take him out for one of the easy ones to help with his confidence.
  6. Sorry mate but only the new lads to stalking ware the real tree it is now associated with the poaching brigade and used mostly under the cover of darkness. Times move on indeed and tweed has stud the test of time now that is a fact. Also if you were waring almost any colour and tucked well you would be invisible. Now wouldn't it be better to start wub in the correct manner or we will be seeing pictures of him walking about woodland time and time again with no deer. He will then be wondering why and the reason is on his back that real tree stuff is only good in dense deciduous woodland
  7. Mub you will realise that 2 fallow and a roe buck will not in any way test your real tree pattern against the silent stalking clothes used on the open hill or in close woodland were stealth is what is required. You will also realise that Foxdropper talks the talk he stated that most deer are seen at 300 meters on the hill the very place were you would not ware the real tree pattern. So small childish snipes from foxdropper do not really answer the question that is dose the realtree pattern work or is it a fashion accessory. I am sure i read some ware by a chap off this site that it matters not
  8. WUB the real Tree pattern is a fashion accessory that the new stalkers feel necessary to buy. It dose not work in a woodland scenario and you in you short time will not have found out yet. Most hill stalkers and woodland stalkers use the traditional stuff EG TWEED COTTON WOOL Some of my favorites in a drab silent guys. With regards Foxdropper proving it many times that's a foolish statement that most will take with a pinch of salt. If you want real deerstalker clothing then stay away from the cheap chinese real tree its for posing not stalking.
  9. Thats some group from a guest mate some of the lads i take out cant keep it in the 3inch still thats a nice start to the lads stalking career
  10. Martin it does not matter a dot to me were you shot it and i will say again good shot because it is . I will also say that well done nice buck .
  11. Your opinions are based on your own self importance the picture clearly shows that using the modern camouflage is of no use and dose not blend in naturally.
  12. [gOOD STORY THERE MATE NOW TELL THE TRUTH IT WAS A HIGH SPINE SHOT GOOD SHOOTING MARTIN AT LEAST IT WENT DOWN.
  13. Explain your self Dropper and i think you should apologise for such a derogatory comment aimed directly at my self . MUBCOOL DISRUPTIVE LEAF PATERN
  14. The picture dose show that in the stalking world that stupid DLP is of no use some one might as well ware white
  15. If the ground is FC then let them make the decision on them but on our ground we just made them disappear they will not just up set your stalking they will ruin your chances and wreck the ground for months ahead roe deer hate sheep.
  16. Wildlife and Natural Environment Bill Consultation 2009 DRAFT This document is the formal response of the Scottish Association for Country Sports Scottish Association for Country Sports Netherholm Netherburn Larkhall August 2009 ML9 3DG Introduction In our view, the Bill which may follow from this consultation is the most significant opportunity for over a century to amend the laws which regulate country sports in particular, but also the legislation on many other aspects of the way we regard and use our environment for t
  17. A group of stalkers representing the south lanarkshire area are getting together to form a group .This is as a direct response to the meeting i had with the DCS. The group will offer full insurance and will cater for all Deerstalking needs . It is at the moment in its infancy and there is a lot of work before we can go back to the DCS for a meeting to see how we can work together in this mishmash area they call the central belt of Scotland. We will be open to any one interested in deerstalking and as i know it there are other groups already opening up in other areas .There is a group in the
  18. This is why the DCS can get on with and push through new laws because there are bad eggs going about and killing young dependant fawns /kids. Seasons are there for a reason and should be used to control the deer on your ground. If you don't control them at the right time then that shows how pour your stalking skills are. The section in the bill that allows deer killers to control out with the season section 26-2 will be stopped and all will need to control within perimeters a good thing i think. That should stop the lads who have no self control and use the fact that there are deer on the grou
  19. It was nice to get the support of the worlds authority on Roedeer and he sent a nice letter.I sent the letter to the DCS but it was treated with contempt. The surprise to me was to look on the top shelf of the DCS library and see a line of Richard priors books that they have been using for reference. No one can say this man doesn't know his deer welfare. So if you thought you were wrong to go against some of the proposals here is the letter. May i also thank Morena for giving me information that backed my Genetics claim it was nice to be backed by such a knowledgeable chap. It was also nic
  20. Deer are not actually Dawn and Dusk Creachers in the norm and are certainly more active at night ,Any one that has done any lamping will tell you that . But that makes it more likely to see them at the times nearest night . But they need to eat and pass food through there gut if not it will gas up and can be very uncomfortable for them so with regards roe deer there will be a feeding cycle of about 3-4 hours and it is these short spells of feeding were you might be lucky to catch one out feeding. ps this is not the best time for roe deer buck as they are now in the well known quite period were
  21. The roe deer are very sensitive to change and will in my experience move and become hard to find your stalking for at least 3-4 years will be well and truly disrupted. But on the other hand after that the Roedeer are quick to move into areas once they have over come there fears and you will always know what way the wind is blowing. When our ground got the wind turbines we got a 50% reduction in ground rent but to be honest it didnt cover the lack of deer for the three to four years they were down easy 70%.
  22. Malten your so wrong mate you do not need to respect any ones opinion and for some one to shoot a 8 week old kid in the name of vermin control is a fecking joke. I have been controlling deer for 30 years and never needed to stoop so low.
  23. [ That first buck is a bute but the rest are pi sh i hope you didn't charge them to shoot such pour beasties. One like that should be free of charge.
  24. Maitenby i am sure there is a word for people like me but you don't seem to know it But for me the deer is more important in the circle of life than the squirrel an the Rabbit. Both have been brought over here and bred them selves silly and have put other animals a risk certainly bring the Red squirrel close to the brink of extinction . PS I like hares and give them a good season but there are no long dog men left were i am and most of there muts could catch a hare anyway. There are names for people like you also mate. It is what a first year stag is called and rimes with clobber
