is pasta any good for dogs
Born Hunter replied to lamping rabbit's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
One of the quotes I used was based on sled dogs but we need to bare in mind the diet should be appropriate the the work ie taylored to need. The idea that an animal has got to be a carnivore or an omnivore is primary school biology, dogs digest carbs very well, they run faster when they're part of the diet, they recover faster when part of the diet and they are part of a wolfs diet so But it's such fun baiting the barfists lol, I look forward to a teabreak with coffee, choclat biscuits and a little born again barfist baiting, it make the day go so well. Barfists.... HAHA, love it -

Jigsaw, you talk alot of sense to people who are open minded enough to listen. Ive read your piece in darcys NTWICTW2 and what you have written in the past on here and your love and experience of strong dogs and bull types is obvious. Just a shame its not people like you who are portrayed to the public!

We are all going to feel a right bunch of twats if through our actions the law is reassesed and becomes even worse! I for one can live with the current law, not happily but its not terrible. Unless there is a complete repeal I personally dont want to see any change. Its a case of rather having a bad law against me than a good one against me

nobody owns quarry , otherwise youy could do what you want when you want The quarry belonged to whos ever land it was killed on. If i found a hare in a field it belongs to the owner of that field.

kenneling dogs together
Born Hunter replied to kieran c's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
In my limited experience if they go through a period of lack of work then you will open the kennel to a dead dog one day. Far more experienced terriermen on here though -

its only a question...i know alot of folk have them and want to see different sizes ect... and i know people like to show off there dogs that they have worked hard to condition, and i like to see them. Wasnt taking the piss mate, and i agree bull crosses are certainly dogs to be respected and can be stunning lookers, but then i can apreciate any cross. Just read it and found it funny. atb

Out with the dogs.................
Born Hunter replied to -=Magwitch=-'s topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
non of your intrigueing 'miscellaneous' in the bag? lol -
Haha, thats a great euphamism for dog lads, "how bigs your 'bull cross'"
-
IMO a collie whippet will be limited to what it can do, with exceptions of course as with all crosses. If your hearts set on collie blood then either a collie grey (if its half cross you want) or a collie/grey x whippet might be a good choice, bring down the size as you seem to want but still be quik enough to do everything a collie whippet can and more. I agree with what has been said, quarter collie is plenty, other three quarters can be tailored to what you want size wise. Personally though I would just get a pup from 2 lurchers doing what you want your pup to do...

A perfect morning......................
Born Hunter replied to -=Magwitch=-'s topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
These days are the best, simple and great sport! Hopefully have many days like this ahead of me with my pup next season. Another great post -
I should imagine people nick ferrets because not many people would keep a ferret unless it was up to the job, and also loose lips in the local. No different to working dogs, if you dont know who your talking to dont let on too much about what you have and how good they are. After all, what good will come from letting every one you speak to know how 'amazing' your workers are? Very bloody little! Anyway, i hope the lad gets them back but unfortunately its unlikely. Fuking scum want stringing up from the nearest lamp post as far as im concerned!

What Breed You Reckon?????
Born Hunter replied to crazybones16's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
just following the akita thort, what about shiba inu, like a small akita inu -

I dont think the ban has helped either, posters dont seem to be capable of using a bit of imagination with their posts to make them all above board. Its either blatantly illegal and a 'f**k the ban' attitude or its 'shot and retreived' which again usually causes an argument with someone that either doesnt agree or a wise twat that starts asking about callibre and 'wheres the gun then' etc just to try and cause trouble.

Well that offer has got to be worth it!

Morning out spoilled by Tree Hugger
Born Hunter replied to richberry79's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Had it happen once before, phoned the keeper who she claimed not to know, put her on the phone to him, amazingly she knew him. Outcome, she was told to f**k off and not to interfere with the rabbit control we were doing for HER boss! She cant even so much as look me in the eye now. -
Christ Ginny, now thats somthing to aspire to! And theres somthing about seeing the old pictures which new high quality modern pictures just dont have, suppose its the feeling that the picture gives of better times for the lurcher world and the sport.

http://hachiko-dog-story-movie-trailer.blogspot.com/ Anyone heard the story/legend of Hachiko? Recently been a film made about it. Oh yeh, I havnt put this up to fuel the 'akita lurcher' debate thats currently going on.

Any picks of the little warrior? Fair play lads, very true what someone has said already, "game dogs need game owners"!
-
last i heard he had to be very wary of setting mink traps because of all the pineys . I sent him a pic of one(mink) i'd caught in a magnum and apparently it made his day. The only man i've ever met who bred maggots in a black bin-liner containing a skinned badger on his window ledge .... Just don't ask the rest of the story ... Oh yes, ditchy and the phantom mink, if you havnt read them threads you just cant call yorself a huntinglife member! lol. The man was practically a profit of 'the huntinglife religion'...

You only have to WALK a lurcher down a country road in lincs and plod show up to make sure your not coursing! And if its not plod its fuking scrap men asking to buy your dog!
