  1. Lets be honest, i bet at least 90% of ALL hunters have poached. Wheather it be all out poaching or just a 'shot over the fence' at that all too tempting bunny. Just like i bet at least 90% of all drivers have broken the speed limit at some point. Not me though of course That may well be and I am not disputing it. But to write about it on an open forum makes us all look like a bunch of thieves and will give the anti just the ammo that they are looking for. For feck sake how hard is it to understand that??????????????????? :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: I give in, as I am

  3. Wrong, I'm afraid. It is only legal to shoot a dog as a last resort, while it is actually in the act of worrying livestock. You are right about game birds though. If they are penned, they are classified as livestock. If the dog doing the worrying can be stopped by other means (catching it and tying it up for example) you ARE NOT allowed to shoot it. To be honest, i assumed it was in the process of killing his chickens when he shot it and therefore it was in the act, may be wrong. Also just from what he has said the impression i got was that the dog would be a fiesty f****r if
  4. I like the way people are saying 'just a few chickens'. Just because chickens arn't worth shit to most doesn't mean they arnt to this lad, what if it had a bigger dog killing terriers having broke into your kennel, i think people opinions maybe different. Also, yeh he went one step further than the keeper did and actually shot the keepers dog but at least he had justification, the keeper had no justification for threatening to shoot his dog. Not saying i would have done the same, but in a situation like that you just act and unless i was in that situation i couldn't say what i would do. I sure
  5. its up to him what he does mate!!! why you taking it so personally? Probably because he's a massive role model to alot of young lads, f**k knows why but he is. With fame comes responsibility, like it or not. Todays society is influence alot by famous people.
  6. Greyhound, i think they have alot of potential when pups, if raised as a lurcher as apposed to a racing dog i think alot more people would work them.
  7. How about 'f****r' or 'c**t' or a mixture, 'f*****g little c**t'? Knowing terriers thats what it'll get called more often than anything else, lol.

FFS! this is the problem with this site, no one seems to be able to let a little comment slide! This thread started out good and i completely agree, Magwitch was a huntinglife legend in the ferreting department, his posts were always worth reading, and then it turns to an argument. Im not blaming anyone before someone starts riping me a new arsehole with their keyboard, just saying what the f**k does it matter if someone says something that gets under your skin abit, just agree to disagree and life will be alot more enjoyeable. Bonjour
  10. Done, not that it will make any difference, these petitions never do. They are only there so we (the public) feel we have a bit of power, the f*****g politicians will do what the hell they want anyway. Im only 21 and already lost any faith i had in any government!
  11. Don't mean to be a picky c**t, lol. But would you all really want a partner that was into the hunting scene? Me?... I dont think i would, i like my own space and wouldnt really want to have the missus along on all my hunting jaunts whatever they may be. Yeh i would want a girl thats understanding of what i do but don't think i would particularly want her to also hunt. Fecks sake, we need an excuse to get away now and again! lol
  12. I recall a thread a while back when ditchy was still about, talk of what the wild polecat does in these hot temps... well the little chap finds a nice rabbit hole somewhere where it will be nice and cool because its below ground. I think then the thread went on to talk about adding a small accesable underground section to courts, it would be real simple as well, just dig a small pit lined with slabs or breeze blocks and a buried pipe leading to it. For access a couple of slabs as a roof that would be effectively at ground level and im almost sure all the ferets would spend the summer days in t
  13. Would it not cook the poor buggers in the summer? lol
  14. I love the way people are so willing to judge another form of hunting that most people know f**k all about. I dont know a great deal about boar hunting in this manor but i sure as hell arn't going to say outright that its cruel based on a few videos of dogs holding big boar. To me its bloody interesting and something a would love the oportunity to do one day.
  15. I agree with you on this 100% wrong. These dogs would be good on badger here but if they were my dogs i would not put them on boar, you just know your dog going to get killed one day plus they aint killing the boar, just holding it,may be better ifthe owner of the dogs cut its throat asap but still the dog can get killed easily and this is cruelty full stop, cruelty in 2 respect, one your dog can get killed and 2 the boar is in no way shape or form humanely killed. If the dog cant kill it in a minute or so,it shouldnt be doing it. just my opinion on it. the sensible dog one was quite good b
  16. Lets be honest if it was the weight i wanted then i would tie a f*****g brick to the barrell! The S410 wins it for me because its a good tool and has gorgeous looks to boot. A good mate of mine has a HW100 and it also is a good tool but i just dont like how it sits in my shoulder, just doesnt feel right for me, but his is the thumbhole version (if you can really call it that) and i have heard that the sporter is a better fit generally. And then theres the price, quite a difference i believe!
  17. who needs a woman when youv'e got a thumbhole walnut stock S410 classic to look at................. yeh that is pretty sad!
  18. Any stories you want to share about the dogs? Being your first bull crosses, what impression did they make on ya?
  19. Purely based on what i would look for in a lurcher iv'e got a few ive seen over the years i like, Blackbob's beddygrey, big animal for this type of lurcher Nightvision's beddygreys Scotsman's brindle 1/4 wheaton 3/4 grey, soon as i saw it i liked the look of it, and probably what ill be looking for breeding wise in a lurcher And also Brummy's wheatongrey, cracking pick with it in the back of the motor looking like its cleaned out a jam jar! lol
  20. Trust me pal if you got the potential and interest in engineering then go to uni! It will be the best years of your life! Ive literally just finished my degree, graduate next month, and i dont want to stop beeing a student, lol. Once you've got a degree behind you think of it as a solid foundation for your future, even if you dont want to follow it up as an engineer, its a good qualification. You can then play around more seriously with the idea of becoming a pester and if it fails you will have a bloody good qualification to fall back on. You know it makes sense, lol. Back to the thread,
  21. I agree with keeping bloodlines between mates and mates of mates etc, people who you know are going to work them and test them to see weather they are worthy of carrying on the line. But as ive found it can depend on what exactly you want in a lurcher, sometimes the types of dog kept arn't what you are looking for and so you have to look further afield to find whats right. In which case more often than not money will have to change hands.
  22. Has a fox pissed on your chips in the past or something? Because all you ever seem to want to do is kill every fox alive! Some people take pleasure in seeing them alive as well as hunting them.
  23. I got absolutely piss wet through! Still good few hours. Anybody see that poor saluki x in the saluki class, poor bugger wasnt enjoying it much, lol.
