  1. Absolutely gutted for ya pal. I remember when i dropped my first decent air rifle on a concrete floor, god i was crushed. hardly spoke for the next few days, lol. Keep ya head up and get out there and find some more permission, ask the land lady if you can use her as a reference as to your responsibility.
  2. Boils my piss when people enforce their very offensive opinions of hunting on me, hardly ever happens but makes me want to slap seven bells out of them! But iv'e had the pro/anti hunting argument many times and i always leave them with nothing to say other than "well i think its cruel", no logical argument other than 'its cruel', fukin wake up, natures cruel, difference is we dont turn a blind eye to the reality of nature and accept it! f**k me i could go on all day, but ill calm down, lol.
  3. Strictly speaking haw atomic/sub atomic particles 'bump' is condensed matter physics, lol.
  4. dont use a rucksack as the rabbits wont be able to coll and theyll go green on the meat, also they want gutting as soon as possible or maybe up to an hour or less after shot or if this does not happen the meat will be tainted having a rucksack on is a right pain in the arse when shouldering a rifle as well, dont advise it myself.
  5. Best ive found is a length of seat belt! Just tie it into a big loop and leg the rabbits onto it then wear it like you would a game bag.
  6. That sounds fecking dangerous! lol. Heard of it being done on the old deer drives, but feck that.

    Hares

Anybody know much about hare conservation? What things can be done to help local populationsn etc. Round my way we are not short of them but in some areas there are very few. Obvious things like, predator control and different farm management practices, but what else?
  8. Its a good do, ive been the past few years as its just up the road, small but full of lurchers terriers and working dog men.
  9. Does anyone know exactly why there was bountys for dead foxes? Im assuming possibly during the war to protect valuable meat supplies, farm stock and game etc.
  10. Used quite a lot on the continent, not so much here. The problem you have with SG's is that they are useless over about 10 yards. AAA are a bit small, so you have SSG and Sp. SG in between which could be used in an emergency. Nice to have them bowl over on first go though ah right, just a thought from my 'inexperienced' head. Just thought if i had a 300lb boar charging at me with 4 inch tusks i would probably rather have a shotty handy than rely on having to place a shot from a rifle just right. Although, saying that if i had a choice i would have half a dozen dogo argintinos
  11. Not really knowing jack shit on the matter, so tell me to feck off if this is a daft comment. With whats been said about the danger a wounded boar, would it be prudent when stalking boar to have a mate handy with a 12 bore loaded with buck shot, something like SG or at least AAA? Also arn't there rifle shotgun combos that would be perfect for such a situation? I would imagine a rushed shot on a charging boar wouldn't be the safest or a deffinate stopper but a shotgun would be ideal.
  12. deffinately worth posting about. But i dont think it would have mattered weather they were badger baiters, badger diggers or just average terriermen who abide fully by the law. In the publics eye all terriermen are just a bunch of 'badger baiters', alot of fellow fieldsportsmen even snarl and talk badly of terriermen! Badger digging, baiting, fox work, whats the difference????? We all know theres a hell of a difference but to the public we are all a bunch of baiters!
  13. Thats whats needed, decent lines of beddygrey to beddygrey, hope you carry on the line. atb
  14. thats the problem mate, thats why you should go for a 2nd generation or a 3rd generation etc because then the mam and dads both beddy greys and proven theirselfs. Thats exactly what im looking for, a beddygrey to beddy grey bred pup, but its hard enough finding a decent first cross where you know the parents are worthy of breeding nevermind a line bred beddygrey pup. If i cant find that breeding then im thinking of beddygrey x wheatongrey or beddygrey x deergrey or even beddygrey crossed to a racey bullgrey. Just really want the great nose and gameness of the beddy without sacrificing g

  16. Just to add my bit. Surely personel preference is irelavant with such a matter, the decision should be based on does the dog need a docked tail for the work its intended for in your experience (but of course the decision is often made for you by the breeder). I understand on a behavioural (sp) basis the tail is used by dogs to communicate as part of the overall body language and having a docked tail is beleived to sometimes cause 'trouble' as the body language is miss read by other dogs. Me, personally i would have it docked just to be on the safe side as ive seen plenty of split open tail
  17. To shoot someones dog even though they are poaching will bring out some VERY strong emotions, you had better be bloody sure by shooting their dog you had no other choice and that that will end all the trouble, because shoot the wrong sort of blokes dog and you may wish you didn't. This isn't a 'well ard poacher' talking, its common sense and a little wisdom (a little as im not old enough to have alot, lol). Also i beleive that not so long back there was a case where a keeper/farmer shot a poachers dog and ended up getting prosecuted himself.
  18. Bugger off, that the f**k do you know? No, It's not, and no, he didn't. Yeh you know best... not gonna argue
  19. Agree, look at LDR's dog, won the lamping comp and as i understand that was a rescue. Well done pal, you will have to let us all know how she fairs this coming season
  20. The blatant lack of respect some people have for animals, particularly the animals they hunt is pretty f*****g sad. If its a pest then by all means kill it but i think in this case the lad did right. Well done tallyho, top man
  21. Same sorta thing for me, doesn't recognise my surname, not surprising though, its not common at all.
  22. Back in the days of the British empire i beleive they had a gun for that sorta stuff, i read about it in the countrymans weekly a while back. Sawn off 20bore shotgun, they called it the 'wog stopper' (and no im not having a wind up or beeing racist). Its name was a sort of unoficial term becuase they were a big hit with explorers and the like who went to africa for defence against the native peoples.
