Give it time. With more than 2 dogs kennelled together its not uncommon when a disagreement occurs that you end up with 2 on 1 and then you do get a mess. You may think they are the best of mates but shit happens, especially when terriers are involved! -
Whats wrong with scruffing? I agree that a picture of a dog being scruffed doesnt do the dog much justice but its hardly disrespectfull. Most terriers I know are quite happy being scruft. And as for pictures of dogs being scruft portraying terriermen in a poor light. Theres SHITE LOADS of worse pics on the net, for a start pics of dogs smashed to shit, now they dont do anyone any favours. I really dont get this 'scrufing is disrespectfull' thing that people seem to go on about...

Your mate sounds like a right arse. He buys a couple of pet terriers and then decides his wallets a bit light so decides to get shot of them any way he can so he can buy in more stock just to breed, quite frankly, shite dogs! FFS keep him away from working terriers! -
tbh I dont see what all the fuss is about. I took Scots post in the light hearted humour it was intended. I think there has just been a bit of a missunderstanding between rfyl and scot. Keep up the posts rfyl, you enjoy posting and the majority of us enjoy reading them and looking at them. Dont take this internet lark too seriously, youll live longer, lol.

Lurcher and Terrier Dilemma

Terriers tend to start fights, Lurchers tend to finish them. Doesnt matter how good a friends they are, it can all explode over a silly little thing with terriers. Separate kennels imo, seen too many terriers killed because they fired up with a bigger dog! -

you would think this is the truth but its not. i got pulled in my van on my way hunting i was searched and they found a 3 and a quater inch locknife ,the french wooden handled type designed for hunting ,in my van were three dogs my lamp rucksack and some fishing gear ,i was then arrested for carrying a bladed article in a public place and van impounded even though it was fully legal i got my van back and went to court i was fined 400 pounds and 120hours community service because it was a lock knife and over 3 inchs and even though they had stopped me i was in a public place the pavement ,the a

I know who you mean, they have a few racoons, meerkets, skunks etc. A racoon was caught near Lincoln a few years back...... My eyes almost popped out my head! I was running too the bloody lurcher to get her on a lead like a loon, I hadnt a clue what she would have made of it and really didnt want my dog ragging a bloody coon infront of all the sunday walkers. The little bugger was biting the bloke as he was putting it back on its harness, nothing serious, just like a ferret does when its playing. Im not a million miles away from lincoln, have to keep my eyes peeled...

wont be long till their breeding in the wild in my opinion. soons as people get bored of them they will realease them into the wild. Well, it is a shame for the yanks to have all the fun with their staghounds! Im sure the terrier lads and keepers will sort them if and when their population does start increasing.

There was a couple with one on a lead down the side of the Trent at Gunthorpe! I could hardly believe it. How the ones in the wild arnt deemed as a threat I dont know. All itll take is one breeding pair and there ya have another serious threat to our wildlife. If I ever bump into a wild one itll get shot, dogged or clubbed, as any alien predator in this country should.

The point here is that the hare population in certain areas, particularly parts of lincs, NEEDS managing. Not eradicating but managing. Many people dont like shooting hares at all, myself included, and I dont like even seeing them shot on a shoot day. However some lads do enjoy ground game and to say they are wrong to enjoy it is absolutely no different to antis telling us we should not enjoy our own chosen forms of hunting. Seems there are lots of "idiots" on this forum who have taken mink with dogs! I just cant believe it, surely there must have been dozens of dogs lost to that awfull bite the mink gives. Im still learning the trade with lurchers and terriers so Ive kinda gotta accept my dogs arnt going to be world beaters. When I am lucky enough to be in the position to only accept dogs of what I consider are up to 'my standard' then ill only keep the right ones to ensure I keep getting the right ones. As for age I think its down to the individual and the quarry, some arnt willing to give a dog till 2 to make the grade others are etc etc

I agree but nothing ever happens. Personally I think the only way it will stop is if the hunting community pull together and deal with these dog thieves with force. If a name gets mentioned, every dog lad goes and finds the b*****d and finds the where abouts of the dogs. If everytime a dog was nicked, the scum had 50 dog lads pull up outside to get answers there would be alot less nicked. Trouble is the scum get so little hassle for nicking dogs its worth it! No good small circles just looking out for themselve, the WHOLE hunting world have to back each other and be prepared to get their hands

agree with all the above. I will however add, heat will kill a ferret a long time before cold will. Make sure the shed doesnt get too hot in the summer, dont worry about the cold as long as they have a bed box of some sort with plenty of bedding theyll be fine.
