  1. I don’t watch any of the ones with cam Hanes or goggins. Bores me to tears listening to all that macho life of the warrior chat. They’re all amazing achievers but just nah. Feels too one dimensional imo. For me some of the standout guests he’s had are scientists on stuff like evolution, ai, space etc, Mike Bakers always a decent one, cowboy cerony, Jordan Peterson, and a bit left field but I’ve enjoyed the ones with Whitney Cummings. Watched the one with General MacMaster recently too. Very educated man.
  2. Yeah, clearly the selection and training of the border patrol tac team is appropriate compared to that of the local LEOs. That’s not surprising obviously. They are specialists. I just know that organisations with rigid hierarchical structures can experience hesitancy when lower ranks need to operate outside of their experience. You can explicitly tell them to break the rules they’re used to but there’s still often hesitancy. Specialists are often selected and trained to encourage independence and initiative. It’s a totally different level but look how ‘obi-wan Nairobi’ went… I d
  3. So it seems they had training, they had long guns, they had numbers and they clearly used plenty of time… I find it hard to believe the problem was cowardice. It only takes one lad to seize the moment and lead. I wonder if it was a command problem? They may have had the tactical training but was there command problems creating hesitancy and no one on the ground with the confidence born of experience to take leadership? It's real easy for those of us without experience to judge and say what the obvious course of action is, even when it is doctrine. But it’s weird fact that authority
  4. He’s only just gone into the white hat stuff. I really rate him but he hasn’t got an ethical fibre in his body! I’m convinced he’s just learning how to rob people.
  5. Don’t be salty over the deviant matadwarf business!
  6. The lad I nearly killed was microdosing LSD daily. Sometimes more macro than micro… He was a nuclear specialist and is now an ethical hacker!
  7. Yeah. It’s the opposite of a sleep tablet in effect but not a stimulant. I think they issue them to military pilots as an alternative to stims. Some people take them daily as a ‘cognitive enhancer’, I was curious. A colleague gave me one and I trained that evening with effortless intensity. Funny enough some time later I gave him a course of ABX and the c**t ended up in hospital with sheets of skin peeling off after one tab! Haha. Anyway, I keep a few about for the very rare occasion I feel I’m going to be very fatigued and prefer to be sharp (virtually never).
  8. Never taken a pre workout but I’ve never felt so effortlessly focussed as when I took 200mg of modafinil!
  9. Look like a right pair of gunslingers behind him.
  10. Good news don’t sell like bad news.
  11. But SWAT are a separate unit right? It’s no good having them if they aren’t available when needed. As I said, problems need to be identified and solutions found. If the regular cops are always first on the scene and there’s no time to wait for specialists then the solution has to be focussed on improving the capability of those first responders. By the sounds of it there are plenty of problems.
  12. I think that’s totally fair. But it should be considered one of ‘the problems’, if it is indeed the case. Seems reasonable as I say. Now forward thinking leaders need to explore ‘solutions’. Issuing suitable weapons and kit to these regular cops, seconding SWAT officers to these forces, training these regular LEOs in special tactics…. These aren’t educated suggestions, I have no place advising strategy! Just examples. My point really, and I encounter this a lot in my profession. I’m hearing problems and I’m hearing partisan ‘going nowhere’ solutions. Where are the leaders that want t
  13. During the floyd whatshisface saga it was stated by someone who actually wanted to find meaningful reform that training levels in US law enforcement varies enormously across the country and that that was the solution to police failures. The above reason/excuse has cropped up more than once now. It’s an awful place to be in but it seems there needs to be a greater dispersal of capable ‘good guys with guns’ as standard LEOs just aren’t cutting it apparently. I’m sure many are up to it and we just aren’t hearing about them so much because they stop attacks before it becomes news worthy.
  14. You can now put your mind at rest. Big news announced yesterday that the UK is on that job. Upgrading the Royal Navy's destroyer fleet to have a full 'sensor to shooter' anti ballistic missile capability. Much needed.
  15. The root of this is surely a societal/cultural problem. We can't have a proper discussion into why it's happening because it gets drowned out by the argument of banning guns vs. arming everyone! I mean, surely to f**k the place to start is let's ask 'why do these things happen'? Why does a person in the #1 country in the world decide one day to go and do such a horrific act, and why does it keep happening? Nah, we'll just go straight in for the well thought out solutions..... US politics is more fractured that UK or Euro politics these days. It's a battlefield. Just look at the two people
  16. It seems the local police were on the scene but needed the support of a border patrol tactical unit that happened to be near by and responded to the call for assistance. I'm sure details are still foggy but it seems often the case these days that it's a capable officer/soldier that just happens to be near by that ends it, rather than the official local LEOs? Response times or capability?
  17. This is the problem. How do you know it would? These acts are basically acts of suicide. Do you think a suicidal maniac with a broken head and an AR cares about facing armed resistance? I agree the measure could reduce fatalities by shortening the response time.
  18. You can't just ban guns on a 'could' or 'might'. I think people have to understand that banning the AR or 'assault rifles', though workable, isn't going to have the impact they want it to. There are millions already in circulation. Aggressive intelligence driven raids by the ATF/FBI to sterilise the US of these guns will be a level of tyranny that wouldn't just be opposed by the hard core NRA fraternity. It would be frowned on by all but the most left wing. It would likely be counter productive and make a lot of centrists embrace 2A. It's unthinkable imo. A softer ban would do nothing to
  19. I wonder if there are as many cops (or anywhere near) in the US as school children/students? I very much doubt it but I honestly don't know. And that sort of illustrates my point on the state of the discussion in US politics over this. It's a lovely little 'fact' that it's more dangerous to be a student than a cop, but does it hold up to scrutiny?
  20. I get that, I do. This shit ain't normal. But people like yourself have come the conclusion that it's fact that gun legislation and enforcement will stop this and that it is bans that is the goal, rather than actually stopping the killings. When that is simply not a conclusive fact. American politics is polarised as f**k recently, to the point that the discussions on everything are f***ing ridiculously childish. There's no meaningful discussion towards compromise. Politics is broken. Legislation shouldn't be off the table. But when do we ever review the effectiveness of legislation that r
  21. And when it doesn’t, I assume you would rescind the laws, like in the uk? This obsession with banning guns prevents any non partisan compromises that may actually do some good.
  22. Can’t say no to timber like that! I need a bench like that for my hall. That’s given me inspiration. This morning I knocked up a shield for a mount to commemorate my mates lads first morning stalking.
  23. If my father had a f***ing helmet tattooed to the side of his head I’d be quite chuffed to have him f**k off with a refugee!
  24. Does he have a Corinthian helmet tattooed to the side of his head?
