  1. Sure, but you’d be giving up your life still surely? I mean it’s not like a set of fake papers is suddenly going to convince the entire world around you you’re someone else. You’d have to move the money, shift your house/assets etc etc. Be murder for just not having to work anymore imo. Im sure plenty would, but even my wanky life would be valued higher than that.
  2. Less than 30 years salary to last me the rest of my life, but that life is essentially going to be a life in hiding. Nah.

    Bats

They’re nice to watch fluttering about in the half light on a summers nights. Whenever anyone mentions bats I can’t help myself but bang on about the bats in AUS. Like f***ing dinosaurs! Constant stream of them flying down the river surrounded by the bright lights and hussle of the city…
  4. @ 1:40 Started shaky but got stronger when it came to listing the actual detail. But generally, he looks and sounds about dead to me.
  5. Did he really mistake Sweden for Switzerland? That's amazing. The best one was Bush mistaking Ukraine for Iraq when condemning the invasion.
  6. Snake island? Ukraine says because Russia was getting leathered on it, Russia says it's a good will gesture or something like that.
  7. The PM at today's summit. I expect the books to be massaged more than tangible growth in mass.
  8. I wouldn't trust/depend on them. But they are a growing power and strategically positioned. They're one to watch with all of this stuff.
  9. I think turkeys cards are marked with how much damage their Bayraktars have done! There’ll be a ton of quiet diplomacy going on. Moving chess pieces. The Turks were booted out of the F35 programme because they bought Russian air defences and there’s been speculation that post Ukraine they will be brought back in after negotiations.
  10. Development; Turkey has dropped its opposition to Finland and Sweden becoming NATO members.
  11. That one is very hard to watch. It’s verging on torture tbh. The victim was absolutely shitting himself and complying. And I think the cop was exonerated. Amazing how the victims skin colour basically made invalid in todays world.
  12. Charlie four was not playing!
  13. Yep. When you read about it it sounds like it's so prevalent that it's an accepted part of their culture. I love the sound of a tiny volcanic island in the middle of the largest ocean on earth, populated by British mutineers in hiding. It's a great story. It's the least populated nation in the world and probably one of the most isolated. But the kiddy fiddling stuff wrecks it. It's only the fact that they're a territory of ours that gives us any authority to sort that. If they were totally independent they would be free to do whatever they want.
  14. Anyway, I'm up to episode 3 now I think, where the poor man's Ben Fogle presenter fella goes to the British Indian Overseas Territory in the Indian ocean and Pitcairn in the Pacific ocean. BIOT is a very interesting/controversial place. I knew most of it already but didn't realise how much of an untouched natural beauty the place was. Illegally declared as a marine reserve (the largest in the world) and teaming with healthy coral and uninhabited islands... ...one of which being Diego Garcia. Pitcairn has an infamous history too. He didn't go into the really shady recent stuff. B
  15. Sounds like the requirements are for construction. Some of it is similar though. Core samples are pretty standard for analysis in shallow stuff, go deeper and the process and analysis becomes more demanding iirc, hence the need for downhole kit/measurements.
  16. Yeah okay, that to. I wasn’t justifying anything just explaining the rationale. You crack on fighting the globalists.
  17. And when he doesn't? More effective to keep feeding Ukraine weapons and intelligence and listen to Russia ramp up the rhetoric in frustration, knowing that they don't have any more bottle to attack us directly than we do them. Meanwhile they are continually being degraded through our support of Ukraine.
  18. Nuclear escalation is standard for the Russians. Both sides know that so yeah it is seen as a bluff to a large extent. But what exactly can you do in the face of a real threat? Things have been done that are similar in their goal to conscription, like Europeans increasing defence spending and NATO declaring increasing deployed forces from battlegroup to brigade strength with an increase in rapid reaction forces from 40k to 300k. I bet sub and intel activity has gone mental. But what beyond that is on the table and worthwhile?
  19. Two types of soldier.... Evolved smart types, like Stiff, who see a borehole and talk about strata. And then there's Neanderthals, like you, who see a bore-hole and probably try to f**k it! Give me strength!
  20. I read something about a cull yeah. Can't exactly remember though.
  21. Water wells or are you interested in the geology? What sort of instrumentation do you use? Downhole tools like wireline? I'm out of all that now.
  22. Iirc the falklands has feral herds of caribou/reindeer. They also have some great looking wild trout fishing (a lad on here posted about it while he was posted down there). If it was possible to go down there, cull some caribou and roam about spinning for trout and whatever else at an economical cost, I’d be all over it.
  23. Regarded by many as the greatest spear fishing destination on the planet! Its also remarkable ecologically. The island is naturally nothing but generally inhospitable rock. “Hell without the fires” one described it as. Then they took hundreds of different species of plant there to try to get something to grow. Eventually finding some that would and literally turned the mountain green! This lead to rain clouds forming and precipitation increasing which further fuelled the greenery. It also lead to a disaster for what natural ecosystem there was before man. Nonetheless its a remar
