  1. Do you call your house "The Compound" and do you have a favourite MRE?
  2. Mate, entire warheads have gone unaccounted for over the 60s 70s 80s 90s! f***ing mad eh!
  3. The stuff they use is difficult to detect because it's predominantly an alpha emitter. You could import it easily I'd have thought. Alpha radiation (Helium nuclei) have a very short penetration depth, unlike gamma for instance and so can't be detected (or for that matter dangerous) over a few centimetres (less with solid matter, a sheet of paper etc). But it's f***ing lethal if ingested as your internal organs are total exposed to it!
  4. Aye, it's a bit oversimplified I thought. Preferred the ONS one.
  5. Yeah, I think that's a bit missleading though. Check out ONS stats here https://visual.ons.gov.uk/uk-energy-how-much-what-type-and-where-from/ It's been UK energy policy to avoid dependence on Russian gas for at least the past 10 years I think. Something our idealist neighbours across the sea don't seem to be in agreement with.
  6. That's kinda where I'm at with this. Short of making an effort and offing one of his agents ourselves as retaliation I can't think there's much we can do. And that's too bold to be British anyway. On a tangent here but I thought we were one of the few European countries to not be addicted to Russian gas? I thought our gas was mainly from Qatar for the strategic reason you have pointed out.
  7. Which raises the question, on a more serious note, what is a reasonable response? It wouldn't be such a concern if they were offing their traitors with a shiv down a jitty but they're pissing about with some pretty serious rad's here.
  8. High butter based bread. The only buns burgers should be made from!
  9. Making it up as i go along? Ha! You wrote it fella. 'In reality' is that a legal defence? So you personally don't allow anyone else access but you reckon most other gun owner do? Do you honestly think you have anonymity on the internet? Not that that was significant in my point. I honestly can't believe I'm reading this shit on here... no wait, I can. It's as bad as talking up having chinned terriers. Look, if any amount of members on here want to claim that the shooting community generally let their kids and wives have access to their guns through negligence then knock yourselves o
  10. The real concern will be when these AI bots set up an offliner at the racecourse carpark and when you turn there is f***ing Megatron warming up on the pads!
  11. Morrison's were out of brioche cobs last night! I take it back, this is a crisis!
  12. Seen similar releasing wolves. Proper mans country out there! I saw a good clip yesterday of a f**k off big lion bayed up on the ground being filmed from above. It'd grab a hound and be in the process of getting a neck hold when a couple other hounds would pitch into the cats back end, tom would spin round letting go of his hound and that hound would spin up and set about baying again with the rest and the process repeat! Gritty as f**k!
  13. I get that mate, but thats always been the case in those parts. For the majority of us it's only the odd road that is closed and alternative routes available. Comes with the territory of living in the arse end of nowhere, no? I mean I say it isn't a big deal, of course to some it is, 'they' reckon 2000 have died because of it! I just cant see it was owt special for the majority of the country. I mean, it landed Thursday and today is totally gone for most of us!
  14. Of course. But for 99% of the population, even rural, it's just a minor inconvenience. Even in those outer reaches where only shepherds and farmers live, they tend to be the folks with the machinery to clear roads and travel in adverse conditions.
  15. Mate my small Sainsburys Local had shit loads in! A bit light on fresh fruit and bread etc but not like they were clean out of anything. I was out with mates yesterday for a bit of sport and finished the day with a pub roast. Roast beef, all the trimmings, place was packed. All very normal and civilised for a country under arctic siege! Don't get me wrong, I want some proper Day After Tomorrow shit! f**k all the townies off out the countryside so I can actually afford a sensible property!
  16. Has any skyscraper ever collapsed before or after 9/11? Yet so many folks feel like they know how that shit should happen? LOL. Imo what we all witnessed (via recording for most of us) was a unique event. How the layman can just figure that "it shouldn't happen like that" is beyond me.
  17. I've probably said something similar before; I can't see the need for it here. This past week has been absolutely no significant hindrance to me! The main roads were a bit slippy for no more than Thursday. Couple roads were shut. Always food about. I might have to have my second favourite brand of bread loaf, lol, but it's simply nothing major. What we had was f**k all in truth and is only a little disruptive to some folks because they're not used to it. If we had it sustained folks would simply adapt through experience.
  18. The fella telling the story when I was there did it better than that one. He had a proper New York twang and really explained the significance of Ladder Company 3 in the NYFD community and the symbolic importance of a Captains hat.
  19. One thing that struck me was the amount of firemen killed that day. About 3000 people dead in total of which over 300 were firefighters! There was a veteran in the museum who told the story of a fire chief who forgot his helmet that day. The helmet I posted earlier. I’ll try to find the account. Edit: This,
  20. Indeed. Though I wouldn’t let all that cloud my objectivity. I should have taken loads more photos and videos. As I’m sure you can remember one area photos are banned. As tempting as it was to sneak some, it’s a very respectful place.
  21. Like laws and police!
  22. Crox-sticks with ceramic rods are good for honing and touch ups but you'll be fighting a uphill battle if your edge needs even a small re-grind. I found them brilliant for an old knife I had that was made from Sandvik steel (same as stainless Moras) but shite for a Midnight carbon steel. Maybe just me? I've got and used the lanski sharpening jig system thing. It'll give you a decent shaving edge but is a bit limited. Now I use a pair of soft and hard Arkansas oil stones. Them things sharpen everything of every grind type to a very nice hair popping edge. Now, I'd probably advise
  23. It's not burying our heads, it's following the conditions of our licences. Which if broken leaves the individual open to firearm offence charges and as a community to further legislative restrictions. All this is a bit of a tangent and all because you didn't like the way the fella educates his kid on responsibility and respect.
  24. If I wrote that and my FEO read it I have no doubt I'd be loosing my ticket. A fella on here lost his for having a few bullets knicked with his jacket yet a few on here think it's okay to announce that their kids have access to their guns!
