Ffs that’s rough! Did he try to kiss it? I fly home over the weekend (next weekend). Shit weather set in now for the rest of the week. Got a bit of fishing and possuming planned and a two dayer to Fiordland sight seeing but nothing else major. Maybe a deer and pig hunt. tbh I am looking forward to coming home. Lol. It’s a good experience. Would be nice to get onto something in the 100lb+ range. Something to make the dogs have to bail hard and pick their holds. Theres a lot of time in the truck and face into trackers when they jump. Personally I’d rather be actively hunting the dogs rather than that. I could get into it but personally I think I’d want to do things a bit different. Strokes for folks and all... Im really not experienced enough to have an opinion though, just happy to be out doing and learning. Dogs riding on truck bonnet...

450m with 300wsm. The country is body destroying. The west coast mission was knocked on the head so no helo in and out, we hit the east coast and we packed in and out after about 2 hours of legit mad off-roading to the head of the valley. Climbed up to where the tahr live and camped with them.

I didn’t think he threw his dummy out? I also thought whatever he said was fairly respectful. I don’t think you have to be impressed? Just a few observations but why are feral pigs and wild boar being lumped in as one and why is it being assumed hunting the them is the same globally. I just think folks need to accept others might have different standards and culture and just take life with a pinch of salt. This site is getting f****d for that reason. Folks think they have a right to give others a hard time for f**k all really. Hardly a f***ing thing posted these days of legit interest but hey at least folks can sling shit freely, eh. Bit of open mindedness and tolerance would go a f***ing long way. I’ll post properly when I get back. Flight was looooong. Absolutely sound here though. Had duck season opener today. Dawn till dusk in the mai mai with four other sound fellas. Proper duck dynasty style. It’s basically a f***ing national celebration day here, lol. All over the news! They love it. Some pig hunting shortly and tahr/chamois this week. ‘Heaps’ of other stuff too. The big southern alps hunt has had to be knocked on the head for many reasons but we’re chasing them elsewhere. Saves a thousand dollars chopper fee though! ill post in a fortnight.

I really don't know what the obsession is with pictures of dogs on game part way through the 'job'. I don't like seeing them myself, never mind Joe Bloggs on FB. It just seems to glorify the wrong part of the hunt. In the field it's a totally different feeling to seeing shit like that on social media. It's in context and personal in the field when experienced first hand. Pictures and videos are powerful and can be used for good. These Wild Justice wankers argument is that the responsibility for judging whether lethal control is necessary should lie with NE, not the individual keeper/farmer/pesty/Gun. Therefore a General Licensing system is illegal and should be replaced with a Individual Licensing system on a case by case basis. Like what we currently have for cormorants etc I suppose? It's not clear to me if this has been legally decided on or if it is in the early stages of being fought over? Even if it has surely it can be escalated to a higher
