  1. dip into the airgun forum mate, there's a few guys on there doing some great footage through scopes using standard video camera equipment, as well as night time footage. Ask the question and I'm sure they will respond.
  2. All sounds very expensive to me, One Greys 2Lb rod, one decent reel, landing net, bag of dog biscuits and a packet of Hamlet. THE perfect day out.
  3. looks a belter mate, all the best with the training, keep us posted.
  4. A new photo opportunity has arrived at home.......meet Sedge he's a Wire Haried Vizsla. Fun times ahead with kitchen towel in one hand and earplugs in the other !
  5. Here's a picture of the new edition, looking forward to the years in front of us out in the field. (That's if he ever sleeps at night !!!!!) I've called him Sedge, any tips on a peaceful nights sleep would be appreciated. I've got him in a crate downstairs and let him out once in the early am for a pee. The rest of the time he barks and howls and wails ad barks and howls and wails and barks..................... ALL NIGHT. I have been reading that it maybe better to start with the crate next to the bed till he used to sleeping in it then moving downstairs. I know its all new for the little
  6. great topic and well written, read and learn newbies (and a few oldies?)
  7. A real cracker, text book example of how a border should look (imo) hope to see more pictures soon

  9. Vanessa Feltz........ just love to punch her in the neck
  10. Right then guys, don't know about the rest of you but I am having a mare in this snow. My deaf grandmother could hear my size 12's as they CRUNCH through the snow. I don't even get to see the rabbits run away, they've been gone that long by the time I get there they've probably had a shag and are having a smoke or lying in the bath ! Any tips ? I find it a little to cold to sit and wait so i'm on the move. I've even resorted to wearing one of those white disposable over suit type things So i'm looking a right tit AND blanking :wallbash: Maybe i'll wait for the thaw :drink
  11. Nice write up TC and a crackin' bit of film. The permission looks great, shame about the "company" when you arrived but it could be worse I guess. Looking forward to the next write up, best of luck in 2010. Belly
  12. Nice write up there Davy, looking forward to seeing the first knock down on the scope cam. Can't help being reminded of Lucian from the Liver Birds with you wearing that scarf :whistling: "someone's stolen me rabbits..."
  13. Text Book stuff, well done. Crackin' picture and animal.
  14. Never really considered shooting hares, a bit soppy I know but aren't they supposed to be one of these "magical" creatures ? Funny really I suppose, I'll shoot magpie's all day long but i'm sure shooting a Hare will put some sort of voodoo stuff on you. Maybe I should carry a chicken's foot as well as my HW100 ? :whistling: :whistling:
  15. I use a HW100 in .177 flavour and also have the HW57 in .22. I've never really thought about owning another rifle as these two are more than adequate for my needs (fur and feather). Over the coming holiday I am using my dad's BSA Supersport in .22 for a bit of bunny bashing as he says it needs a trip out. This is a £100.00 ish rifle and I have to say.... it's very, very good. Half the weight of the HW57 and so far just as accurate and knocks old buggsy straight on his ass..no messin'. If its a break barrel you are after this could be the one (under lever then go for the HW57) well w
  16. congrats on the new purchase, :clapping: a true marvel of a rifle. At the risk of offending the "un-educated" ....... Carlsberg don't make air rifles, but if they did...... looking forward to the write ups
  17. Though i'd pass on a little tip tat seems to be working (so far). I have a fairly small garden (10 meters max) and my permission is a 20 minute drive. I have been trying to work out how to zero in at home and here is my answer. 1) drive to permission / range and zero in at 35 yards 2) set up target in the garden at 7 yards, aim cross hairs on the bull and fire. (pellet hole is about an inch below the aiming spot) MARK this spot on another target. 3) whenever a 35 yard zero is required set up target at 7 yards, aim cross hairs at the bull and ensure pellet is impacting on the mark yo
  18. I have also read your past posts on Bailey and almost considered offering a home for him. I have to admit that I was quite concerned reading your posts and really felt you were well out of your depth and it was the dog that was suffering. Yesterday I read that you have been given another dog, like most of the people on here I wish the dog well but my main thought on this is what a shame :headshot::
  19. Nice shooting there buddy, love to those tree rats getting what they deserve
  20. I've come to the decision that i'm going to buy my HW100 a new scope for Xmas. The current Hawke 3 9x50 will be going on to my springer. I'd be intereste in your views and advice on what to get. I am doing a lot of shooting at dusk and early morning so plenty of light coming in is essential. Is there any advantage with the illuminated cross hairs on say the Hawke Nite Eye ? Cheers guys,
  21. Am i right in thinking that once the vertical line is zero'd in that it will always be accurate at any distance ? e.g. if i zero the verical line at home in the garden at 10 yards i will only have to adjust elevation at the range ? Thanks
  22. Just got back from what was a pretty useless session (due to my own stupidity ) Thought i'd pop up to the permission and clock in for the 3.00 till 4.30 shift, loaded the motor and off I went Parked up, opened the boot and took out Kylie (HW100), put on my jacket and checked my pockets for the essentials and everything was sweet. Realised I hadn't put my boots on so I lent Kylie against the back of the car ( I know. I know, you can see it coming ) Put my boots on shut the door and went to the back of the car and there she was lying on the floor with a nice little chunk out of the sight
