rolf you could use a fishing reel, bobnets showed me one he made up using a fishing reel, he took the spool off , and there is a metal bar stiking out, i think he welded a hook on to that. and its the same principle 1 turn = many revalutions becuase of the gears in the reel.

got called out to one 6 weeks ago , in the next village, i groaned when he told me on the phone , as i thought when i got there i couldn't find anything. customer had a few buzzing round in a room, so he called me thinking he had a nest.

how long after ferreting a burrow can it be done agian

did a contract job , ferreting last week , first day got 25 missed one rabbit. went round with the rifle later that eavning , watched 3 rabbits go in the warren , you are always going to miss a few, and rabbits know if there is a preddator in there warrens. if you do a good job however, the next time you go you are going to get less and of course you will ferret empty warrens, unless using a marking dog -

did 3 weeks on the north island , last year , unfortunatly didnt get chance to hunt, spent many hours in the gun shops, boring staff , with loads of questions about the country , and hunting. fishing all you need is a licence , ithink about $95 n.z , and you can fish anywhere inthe country, rivers lakes whatever. no day tickets . hunting can be carried out on any governement owned land , without permision, apart from gun licences of course. i am also led to belive these are fairly easy to get. and im sure there are no closed seasons another great thing about N.Z the population

nice one fellas , glad to see ya back on peg. as you say ian , shame for the fox killed on the road, its no way for an animal to die i hate running stuff over, youse to do it when i was a young man , but you soon relise, its a nasty way to go.

done a few portacabins, and trailer containers , always ferreted them mate, long nets round. i have been fortunate that for the most part i could get the pegs in , in gaps between slabs. where i couldnt i lent the poles against the cabin. but you could not do this all the way round, there would be no tention. what you need is somthing heavy for the poles to go in too, like a brick or a piece off heavy steel plate. i have used ferrets in these places that i know if they kill they wont stay for long. best of luck TOMO

suprised he wont drink with milk in , you can try with watry gravy, if ya boil ant meat for him, rabbits ect. they love the water from that with tiny bits of meat in. or an oxo cube disolved in hot water then cooled. but as was said erlier most dogs prefer rain watey

no mate thats not the reason, they are used in arkward places, eg if your alone and working a hedgerow , put the cages the other side. or on the sides of rail ways or roads, , this way you wont have ferrets runnig off unsighted or getting sqished, HERES A PIC WITH A COUPLE OF BUNNYS IN ONE, WHEN I WAS FERRETING IN OZ

Does the call sound like the shop ones? If so I suggest you patent it and get yourself a stall at the Game fair! its an old method inan, spilt a piece of dowling about 5 inch. wrap a bit of elecy tape round each end of the 2 split legths. then a bit of tape from a tape casset, is held in place along the length of one bit of dowl with a bit more tape. then sandwitch it together with the other length of dowl. costs a few pence, try difrent lengths to alter the sound.
