TOMO replied to Chainman's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
i dont think they will be duffas zig zag they will be copys, take it from some one thats tried the cheap ones , i tried the big cheese barrel traps they were missfireing all the time. fooking w@nk. in fact if the lady from kilgerm reads this, do ya selvs a favour, and get rid of all there stuff. it fecking pants. tried there squirrel live cage a few years ago i tested it , first time the firing spring snapped. they have a little spingy band type of thing, fecking shite -
heres a set i u may find helpful rolf , i used this last year in a garden and it was very productive. trapping 6 squirrels in 3 days. normaly i would have set the trap the normal way up , at the bottom of the fence, but after watching them running along , i just thought it would work well upside down and it did

thats what i was on about , but use shorter board, so it can get in small akward places, just take the cordless with ya on new jobs , and screw it in place

I'm always amazed at what good value pest control is for the public in general......can you imagine an electrician or a plumber charging you £90 for three visits/callouts Martin YOUR DEAD RIGHT MATE WE SHOULD CHARGE MORE, WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT WE ARE SAVING LIVES JUST THINK OF ALL THE GERMS RATS AND MICE BRING IN THE HOME. NOT TO MENTION STRUCTUAL DAMAGE CAUSED BY ALL THE PESTS . AND OF COURSE THE FIRE RISK CAUSED BE BY CHEWING THREW CABLES. WAS ON A SQUIRREL JOB A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO , AND THE END RAFTER SUPPORTING THE TILES ON A ROOF WAS CHEWED THROUGH HALF WAY.

its hard to say for diffrent reasons, if it were best bag in a single night then thats TARA at 22" kelpie x whipp/grey who i have now, but best persentages is VISA 26"" line bred saluki type lurcher who is also with me now, VISA makes the hole thing look very easy and realy misses much . also a dog i had back in the early nintyes, called BESS 24"" her dam was a first cross pittbull/grey sire was a norfolk type, she also made the hole prosses look easy and had a great strike on good rabbit ground on windy nights all these dogs got in the 30's with TARA's best being 45. bu

for mole trapping in an avrage sized garden i charge £90 , thats for 3-5 visits first visit setting trapps , second visit removing moles and reseting, then probly a third vist taking maybbe more moles out. and removing traps. of course you may need to do additional vists, i usualy work out a visit at about £30. if its a big area more like paddocks then its more money

THATS VERY GENEROUSE OF YOU SJM, I ALSO USED TO CHIP , I WENT ROUND LURCHER SHOWS DOING IT . I CHARGED £15 BUT MADE NO MONEY AT IT. PEOPLE WERE JUST NOT INTERESTED, BUT ITS A BUSSINES, SO FOR YOU TO SAY THATS ITS A RIP OFF IS A BIT STRONG , £15 IS FECK ALL, £30 YES THAT MIGHT BE CONCIDERED A RIP OFF BUT NOT £15. AS FOR CHARGING £5 THE CHIPS COST MORE THAN THAT. IF MY MEMORY SERVES THE CHEAPEST THEY WERE WHEN BOUGHT IN BULK WAS AROUND £5.60. NOW THERES NOWT WRONG WITH LOOSING A FEW PENCE DOING YOUR MATES DOGS. BUT NOT THE GENRAL PUBLICK. LIKE A SAY £15 IS FECK ALL, CAN

screw it to a bit of board a little bit longer than the trap, then drill a hole at the top and bottom of the board. of course its handy to have a cordless with you. then you can screw it in place on trees fences or whatever. other than that like you a wedge it in place in trees ect . i also have in my trapping kit that thin green wire you get from garden centres. i thread this through the trap and hold in place with this somtimes. hope thios helps TOMO
