  1. i keep between 7 and 10 usualy,,, i also do some masive places when its not unusual to have 10+ in the ground the top pic,, there is a 100 yard longnet, at full length allong the bottom of the bank, and 50 yarders disecting the bank,, evry time yoy do this little set we have 30+ as for feeding, even when i have 10 or more and kits,,,,,flesh only,, rabbits ,hares, pigeons, phesys ect,, ive never fed a pellet in my life,,, there carnivors , not vegys another big bank i forget now but 70 ish on the day another bank we did , had 46 in about an hour,,,
  2. i had exactly the same thing happen as you ,,, i was a little older around 20,, dog ran a rabbat over the quarry edge,, same as you, my mate had not told me where the quarry was,, rip sox,,,, but as the saying goes,,, if you fall off the horse , get streight back on
  3. im with stabba, and poacher...you always get the impresion doctors find it hard to ask relatives for there kidnys ect,,,, so this way round would be far simpler.................i did carry an organ donation card in my wallet from about 18,,,but they scraped that a good few years ago
  4. yep ive used a plstic pet carrier with no probs,,, but cos i have a van i have used a small ferret cage.
  5. revmx,,,otter and badger were banned in the early 70's but befor then they were dug with terriers, and hunted with hounds,, up until the reasant ban,, we could hunt fox, deer, hare,mink, squirrel, even stoats and weasels,, there are some ferral animals that have been introduced that a few fellows had hunted like goats, and wallabys and coypu,, but coypu were exterminated,,, legaly now its rats and rabbits

  7. ive got both,, the old grey knocker boxes,,, and the disco carrot,,, my old box has just been serviced but im not impressed,,, and my carrot i dont find that acurate,, it seems to read 18 inch deeper than it actualy is.. as for your stinkers coming to the music,,,, never had that,, must be some dutch thing,,like that fast rave music "gabba teckno ferrets
  8. same as tiny,, legth of cord round my neck,, you can compleatly let go,,even leaving the lamp on so theres light for climbing gates ect.. having it tied to your wrist,, its will still get in your way it will flap about evry time you move that hand

  12. its an intresting point that,, what x38 has highlighted... if a hound can chase a rabbit or hare,,, but coursing is banned,,, what off the lurcher ??,, at one end of the scale,, is your saluki type,,, then again theres your avrage mut of a lurcher that uses its nose, to flush,, then catch,, in the same way as a hound....... bit of a grey area i would say. kev from bristol.... tell us a bit more about your experiance in france,, did you travel about much and catch much game ??
  13. what ideation said,, if you only have bits to do ,, then you got to save a few.... me personly, whilst im not keen on killing pregnant does,,, i still do,, i genraly carry on till the end of march regardless, i just try to do places that hold good numbers. i also think rabbits stop breeding in july-aug,,, and start again around xmas-jan,, its very rare for me to dig nests in august, and i usualy start in aug, upin the dales.. you might get the odd half grown one,,, but rearly a nest

  16. had a wander round the field behind my house today,, just doing a few little hedgrow sets the farmer had asked me to clear,,, a late start midmorning cos of work comitments,, one thing we did need today ,, was the bloody spoon, we seemed to get it out on evry set,, but hay thats ferreting somtines,, but we did bolt a few, wich was nice to see. one little warren in particular supricesd us in the fact it went under a farm track , and reponed next to the cow shed wall,, we were lucky not to loose any,, cos theres no way you would think it was the same warren. then on the last warren

  22. we have had lamping compitions on here befor,, 2 in fact first one was about 4 years ago,,,it was good fun for most folk,,, buts its not without its problems a few of us at woodgas befor the start marckbrick beating me in the semi longdog beating markbrick in the final
