  1. It's a Golden Eagle. Getting quite common now those. Put out some self-raising flour, they love that stuff
  2. Having faffed about with the ones you mention then there are a few tweaks i would recommend before you put them in the Earth's crust. Dufus Types: Before I set the trap I know that the trigger loop will have to travel too far for how I use them so I get a pair of snub nosed pliers with the wire cutting bit in the jaws. I slide the cutting jaw under the trigger pin holding wire and if the cutting edge catches then I simply trim the holding wire length by about half a mil. Then you want to set that end of the trap. If it holds then quids in, if not then bend the trigger holding wire ove
  3. It depends on what is happening on occasion that has prevented the capture so might not be just the adjustments on the traps but a plethora of events. Are the traps getting touched for a start? If not then you're not setting in the right areas and the traps might be just fine. What type of soil you are setting is can govern various changes in how the trap is set in the tunnel. If you're getting filled traps then you need to look at how they are filling them, from the side or going underneath them, again the traps might be fine and it could be how you've set them in the tunnels i.e too fi
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POaaw_x7gvQ Best by far for me.
  5. That isn't a cover of Sweet Home Alabama but The Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon and Sweet Home Alabama in a weird mish-mash arrangement.
  6. Imagine lugging 50-60 of those badboys around a farm!! Would you still use a trap marker is the big question though :D
  7. I presume you don't wash your nets out after use then.Only use a scoop net.
  8. Maybe utilise some coat racks flipped on their side to use for rod storage so you can display them. To be honest I don't see the point as you'll only have to dismantle them and put them in rod tubes anyway. My fly rods are in rod tubes leaned up against the wall with my little carry bag next to them and my fly vest is hung up in the downstairs lav on the same hook as my waders meaning I can grab them at a moments notice and be off out the door before anyone else gets involved Also have a small box of "go to flies" in the car so I can grab just rods, reel and vest and be off out in 5mins.
  9. Off to make a cup of coffee and put my energy drink in the fridge but I just want to say drugs and stimulants are for wasters.
  10. Sometimes you've got to give the fish a chance and step away from the F-Fly. Takes all the fun out of casting and not catching owt when you've got one on as you've got to drag a lump of silvery spectrum in if it comes into contact with the water surface, and where's the fun in that?!?!?

Probably a server glitch mate.. Think it was Shepp, metaphorically, "putting it about a bit" to be fair.
  12. Ah yes, been meaning to speak to you about that one. You see a petition was raised by the remaining family members and, well, let's just say they're not happy with you and suggest you have an eye test.

Ray i bet you looked like you were at an Atos asessment Sorry, seems to be some interference, can you maybe say it for the fifth time please?
  14. Some excellent pics on here. Could spend ages looking at them but with all this variety my mind quickly turns to my fly tying kit and what ingredients I'd dearly love off of here :D
  15. Bloody immigrants coming over here, fighting in our streets!!!!
  16. Been using PP lines for a fair few seasons now and no issues at all. The only issues I have with fly lines is when they say "NO memory", every line has a memory if you store it on the reel and don't stretch its legs before casting. The price of fly lines also makes you drop a Betty Swollock at the till as well, especially when they have fancy pants packaging and key pointless points such as "superior presentation", "effortless casting" and "efficient turnover of *insert fly type*". I might be cynical but I thought that's why I spend hours on a cricket pitch casting at dandelions from various d
  17. I wonder if every mole trapper on here agreed on a set fee right across the board if the courts would drag them in for breach of competition law or trying to fix libor
  18. Are we going to see garden proud folk on Lorraine talking about how they had "big boned" moles but got them on a weight loss programme as they were making the place look slobbish? "I had the whole place re-landscaped so they were always digging up hill and limited them to four worms a day for three weeks. The results were amazing and I am so proud of my new slender moles. Harrington loves it too as he no longer has to sweat and strain to get the large arbour triggers in the Putanges. I have had people comment on how it's not right to hear a man sweating and straining behind the begonias an

  20. Crucifixion's too good for 'em sir!! Brown trout are renowned for taking dry flies, any purist will tell you that!! Perhaps it was what the fly was representing to the trout which dictated how they took them which then lead to not hooking them fully. A bit like when they slash sideways at a crane fly or give the old head and shoulders rise to buzzers. Could be representing small fish so they would be coming at speed rather than a nice gentle gulp and turn take. What retreive speed were you going for?
  21. But unlike McGyver who could make a machine gun out of some paper clips and post-it notes, this guy has gone one better and made a broken collar bone, broken arm, a few quid and a serious life threatening head injury out of a twisted ankle and a dead arm. On another level is this chap.
