Don't know if anyone's flagged this up but Imagine is the most hypocritical song ever written :D Best song? What a crock of crap. "Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try" - At no point did he say "You lot go study Hindu under Maharishi Lads, I think it's all balls". "Nothing to kill or die for" - He openly donated money and publicity to the political underworld of the Black Panthers. "Imagine no possessions" - He had some really nice houses didn't he? What about that lovely painted rolls Royce? What about living in a high price hotel for years on end? The more you re

You can also take Deer and Fox with a bird of prey but not a lurcher.........!! Don't think the owner would be too pleased to see his lurcher being carried off by a BoP :D

Some belters already. Keep them coming folk.

You won't go wrong with Eastern Europe I can vouch for that. There has been a lot of conflict over the years with one country conquering the other or just arguing and when you win you don't take back the ugly women!! Think Scandinavia and the Vikings. It's a long row back over the sea so you don't take the heavy ugly ones.

I've always fancied a bit of that. Fly as far east as possible and then work my way back through Europe. I'd be seeking out the real out of the way stuff where folk think petrol is a drink as they've got no vehicle to put it in. To be fair I think too much planning could take a bit out of the whole experience. The mad dash for the line when you're miles away from home and only have 24hrs left to get back in, that would bring a few stories. I'm sure you'll have a blast either way

Just for a bit of light-hearted humour, no prize or anything as of yet. I'll pop a hunting related pic up each month for you to come up with the best caption for it, if there is a truly brilliant caption I may treat the owner of the caption to a winner's gift of some sort. Here's you first one of 2015 then. Best of luck.

No idea. Get yourself to a reclamation yard and that should give you an idea then ring around roofing companies and ask if they want any for an under cut price.

That's easy enough. It's a book written by men about a God made by men in order to control men. End of. No impact on how I ldecide what I choose to do in my life. The same goes for any religious text. I don't have to dream about anything let alone a set of people that commit horrendous acts in the name of religion.

I've got nothing to be angry or extreme about. The Bible is all about faith. You either believe what is says or you don't. Even those that were best friends with Jesus were told to have faith, not fact. It's not proven fact at all, especially going on the stuff you've brought up. You can't even bring yourself to face up to the documented fact and self proclaimed admission that Hitler was a believer in the bible, from his own mouth whilst in power and whilst at war. Seriously deluded. You keep your faith Fraz, just don't confuse it with fact.

Oh, I thought he didn't full fill any of the three key things in the prophecy laid down by God. Ah yes, Jesus, born unto an unmarried woman betrothed to another man but then the bible drills home how sex out of wedlock is immoral, a sin and how you should not covert thy neighbour. Guess it's OK if they're engaged though, not really married are they and it was God after all, not like your best mate or anything having a diddle after a few drinks. The Son of God brought to earth by breaking two of the most sacred teachings in the whole book. What a crock of ....... Mary should have been

So if you've not read the originals, can not understand the languages in which they are wrote how do you deem that the KJ is the most accurate translation? Can't show where the bible is.....what? Oh dear, you've done it again, just read what you wanted to read. "Lots of stuff"? Really? Josephus mentions Jesus three times at best and many many many christian and catholic scholars have dismissed the testimonium flavianum as a hoax, an insert many years after the death of Josephus. Look up a guy called Eusibeus or something I think the big give away is the fact that translated, Josephus

And why did the Hebrews, the descendants of God (after all God created Adam directly), reject Jesus as the Messiah?

I am not making any excuses Fraz and I am not putting believers down at all and never will, as I have said that is each person's opinion and choice but you can't state the Bible is absolute fact because there is no other document to back it up. "It's the word of God" well if there is no God how can it be the word of God? What if it's just the writings of men that you believe to be the truth? You have no way of backing any of it up with fact based evidence, that is what we have established over the last 215 pages so therefore you can't say the bible is fact merely you have Faith in the bible.

Cancer is a thing of mass destruction no matter what animal it affects. God created DNA according the Bible as created everything (it's only recently we are beginning to discover this stuff) so God therefore created the weakness in DNA that allows it be affected by carcinogenic elements, or am I missing something? I do take actions for myself, nothing done in a deity's name on my part. I am the keeper of my own destiny and others are the judge of my character, that's all I need in life. What tales am I telling Fraz? I am glad we agree that you are no different from anyone Fraz. I

So he's a doctor now. Fraz might have something to say on that as man has not evolved as far as education and knowledge goes for quite some time yet anti-biotics, vaccinations, medical treatments and indeed general knowledge of basic medical procedures have all been massive milestones in recent times that have only benefitted mankind. Rhetorical question for all of the believers. You or your wife are unable to conceive naturally or you have a child that is born prematurely and will not survive without medical assistance or they won't survive to adulthood without a long period of medical supp

Born and raised a catholic by my mother, attended catholic schools, taught by very religious people and taught extensively about religion of various types for about 8years. All a load of bollocks. Wonder what some religious folk would think if the busts at the natural history museums around the globe began to weep or Wallace's face appeared on a slice of toast, that would be funny. Have you had faith all of your life or was it something you came to? If you came to it what made you come to it? What answers were you seeking? I'm irish so I went to mass on a Sunday like most people in Ire

Why do you pray Fraz, what do you get from it? What responsibility is there in a belief? You either believe or you don't. You either follow the guidance or you don't. You don't have to have any form of belief to have great responsibility. Axum says they get a sense of calm and peace by praying, that is only like a mantra and breathing exercises but you can do it in the company of friends who are believers. Meditation doesn't have to be spiritual. Don't start making out you're better than others because you have "found faith" Fraz, that makes you sound like a cokc of the highest order a

To be honest, unless it's the Scandinavian "Realist" flies that have been trickling out over the last few years, everything now is just a variant of something that has been around for donkey's. Any traditional wet or dry with a palmer hackle, Any traditional with a muddler head. Everything tied in UV reflective crap. Every dry fly has a deer hair variant. For me you just can't beat slipping a nice bit of peacock herl on a shank from eye to hook bend, then dubbing some black seal fur over that in opposite turns, ribbing with brass wire for a bit of protection and a grisle hackle. Sl

I did that for a fair few years, battled with confusion about it all and eventually turned my back on religion of any kind. Felt much better about life that's for sure.

Spending pretty much every waking minute outside of work in wellies be it walking, gardening, fishing, shooting etc I have tried pretty much every brand out there and the only pair that have stood up to anything much are Toggi Wanderer. I'll never buy anything else. Just as comfortable as Le Camels, more robust than a Muckboot, can handle whatever temperature gets thrown at them and I can easily do 10miles in them without issue on all manner of terrain. at about £60-70 you pretty much get the best features of the big brands but without the price tag.

A good challenge for when the fly tying bench starts a staring contest with you is to pick a fur, a thread and a feather and see if you can get at least three "buggy" looking efforts from them. Some of my best days have been on such things where you're looking you fly box expecting "the fly" to present itself and you think "What harm can a few minutes of fan casting do?", so you stick your "effort" on and WHAM! Must've been a lucky presentation but then another chomp on it and another and another and then Murphy's Law sets in - "If I'd have known this bunch of crap would work I'd have tied at
