  1. Well done , it gets very addictive once you start ?
  2. I have a Swarovski scope on mine and also Swarovski bins too .....awesome. My best advice is buy the best you can afford.....Swaro , Schmidt or Zeiss all good but for your budget looking at S/H but decent scopes are always looked after.
  3. That's what I'm afraid of, they always show up in August then Pi55 off.
  4. Exactly if you are happy with your results that's all that matters. Long range shooters are forever chasing that 1 hole group even at 500 yds but in reality shooting foxes or deer it doesnt need to be that perfect.
  5. Back out on the stubbles again last night , did see 1 fox on a fresh cut field but unfortunately wind was swirling all over and it didnt hang about. On the way out of the farm I checked the last field where I got 2 Cubs back in June and there was a fox coming down the hedge line but before I could get in position it vanished into cover. So I put out the caller playing hare distress and 7 mins in the fox appeared crossing a little bridge over a ditch , once it reached the other side I sent the 100 grain pill which hit it right on the chin ......
  6. Totally agree , police incompetence. The guy had his SGC revoked because of violence yet they returned it to him......I cannot understand this at all.
  7. Well I popped out again on the barley stubble field that is drilled with turnips as still lots of birds hitting it. After previously shooting 174 and 83 I wondered how it would go. Anyway my shooting was below standard missing easy birds for some reason but eventually found my rhythm. I had 3 mixed right and lefts of pigeon and corvid ? A skein of 25 greylags landed , hope they hang around til the 1st...I also saw a pair of grey partridge but sadly no young with them , must have lost their brood, not surprising the amount of corvids about ? Final bag 140 ?
  8. I dont see how the application process can be any stricter, we have the strictest licensing system in the world. You cannot legislate for nutters , but as Stav says there are loads of people with shotguns that shouldn't, it amazes me at times.
  9. Did you have a good day as I believe it's a bad year for the grouse .
  10. Great to see the younguns getting involved £50 can I come ?
  11. You need the deer magnet with you mate ???
  12. Yep hes hoping to get the wheat cut next week , one of my favourite fields to shoot is in wheat so hoping for another good day once that gets cut.
  13. Received a call yesterday from a farmer to say the crows were back on the barley stubble which he has just drilled with turnips. I popped in on my way to work and there must have been 500 birds on it so I said I would shoot it in the morning. Anyway I was set up for 1st light but the number of birds wasnt there. Anyway still had a good morning ending up with 83 ?
  14. Bloody weather eh . At least you were able to chase the poachers off. Do you get much trouble with them ?
  15. Yep stubbles aren't left for long these days. Popped into a farm today for a bit craic and there was a guy there who wants a few rabbits shooting, only a few fields but apparently a few there , so told him to let me know when the grass is cut.
  16. Where theres girls there must be boys ? Hope you get some decent pics ?
  17. Busy busy ?luckily it hasn't been raining much .
  18. Weather has changed drastically mate , hopefully they will still be successful but I think the rut will be tailing off a bit now.
