    I remember judging the heat when I think it was a young lad who travelled from Down South with a dog called Storm I think. This dog hadn't ran rabbits before and beat one of the favourites which had caught thousands ?

    Cant remember how many dogs entered but 2 dogs would run 1 night , run for run and whichever dog caught the most rabbits went through to next round.

    God was that 2008 , time flies . I remember seeing Bruce run one night when it was pissing down all night , he put away some rabbits .

    Plenty up here, see them all the time. Good strong population but we arent over run with badgers.

    I dont like pigeon rather have pheasant ? I saw 2 pairs of Greys today only 50 yards apart ?

    FRUSTRATING ? Had a look to that field of barley for the woodies but I could only set up in 1 place with a bare patch and my back to the houses some 300 yds away , unfortunately the pigeons were heading straight for another bare patch right next to the houses so I packed up after an hour as was pointless. I managed a great bag of 3 ????

    Farmer rang this afternoon requesting I go and shoot some woodies on the barley. The field in question is right next to a housing estate so I went to have a look to see if it was shootable. There is only 1 possible place to shoot with my back to the houses and shoot over a bare strip. Did see a pair of Englishmen on the track in front of me , crap pics off phone but if you zoom in you can see them.

    Just popped out again to look for an elusive fox I cant catch up with ....1st scan with bins and spotted a buck in next field. Stalked in really close to around 40 yds and noticed it couldnt put down it's back leg due to an injury so decided it needed to be culled.... Went to where I was going to lie up for the fox and a group of 6 teenagers were there shouting on so I left and lay up further away. 10 mins later they appeared right in front of me so I asked them were they were going , 1 nice young lad replied where going well away now .     Alarm set for 3am , I must be mad ? Arrived at perm not long after 3.30 and headed for some rough ground where I have seen a couple of bucks but nothing about except a doe staring at me through the cow parsley. Headed to other end of ground and spotted a buck in some high vegetation, watched him for some time hoping to present a shot but he just kept moving and wouldnt present a nice shot , eventually disappearing into a group of trees. I waited at the other side hoping he would reappear which he did about 5 minutes later ? I was ready on the quads but he was walking constantly so I gave him

    I'm lucky that I have a variety of ground. So odd roe buck but mainly from now for next few months rabbits and hopefully pigeons/crows on the ripe crops and stubbles before starting on the Cubs ?
