    One other thing he did over 20 years ago was help get a suitable outcross for a line that had been going in Ireland since the 60's (and still is). This was the Sealyham type dog Tip that was sent over by MR for nothing. I think Hardcombe's facilitation fee was £750,000, oh no actually he just set it up because he cares about stuff like that. I'm sure himself and the magazine helped that happen many times before and after the internet. Hard to put a value on things like that? B

    Before the internet was invented he provided a forum like this that was the sole outlet to discuss terrier and lurcher work. He kept people up to date on each and every threat to hunting especially with terriers and lurchers when no one else was interested. I've only ever met him in Vegas at the high roller tables throwing down some of his vast fortune, no not really . I can't imagine he's made much money from selling a few hundred magazines a month but i'm sure the experts on here will no better.

    FD a real smart genuine guy would ask the breeder for advice or just discuss his thoughts with the him or others in the group with the line. The problem is too many don't want to share credit and want "Their Own Line!" ASAP.

    I use Strong Stuff's gear because it out performs and out lasts anything else. I want a collar or lead that will never fail and I'm happy to pay for that. It's not because of how it looks.

    The best of the Fell lines, Buck and Breay were produced digging only foxes. Great lines are produced by guys that can tell a great dog from good dogs and the right dog to breed. Freedom to dig anything won't produce great dogs, that's an innate ability some people just have. Bryan

    One big problem for GB is Cavendish is too good. Normally a few countries would have sprinters good enough to have a chance at gold in the Sprint and they would co-operate to ensure a sprint finish. With him in the race no ones does. They could only have hoped for a silver. GB have the best sprinter to ever have live, what else should they have raced for but a sprint finish?

    Wggins is the first rider for 22 years to be suspected of winning the Tour clean! The yellow leading out the sprint was a bit made up for british TV though, Bernard Hinault won the Paris sprint twice wearing yellow. Put the house on Cav to win the Olympics next week. B

    More comparable to the old grey box. Long range and accurate but takes a lot of practise to get used to and can be confusing to use in the excitement of a dig.

    Hey showmespeed what bulldog blood are you using? I would say a lot of bull blooded dogs need plenty time before being worked to game, bulldogs don't seem to have been bred to start young and were often kept on a chain till 18 months. This time is best spent socialising these crosses, stock breaking and working on their hunting ability and nose. Get them traveling underground, working cover and connecting their nose to their brains.
