    First time I had them , I was at work , managed to get home , paramedics came and wanted to take me in but my lad was boxing on the night so I rode it out and went to watch him , I looked terrible , was a shade of yellow . Second time I went in the ambulance , passed out in agony , took 2 morphine jabs to ease it , spent weekend in hospital , pain was unbearable , still got it in my kidney as they say its too small to laser , its like walking round with a timebomb in you , never knowing when its going to fire up again !

    I gave up funding the promoters Range Rover years ago ! Apart from that the atmosphere has gone , the lurcher ring is full of women who I find hard to believe that spend their nights walking round muddy fields with a lamp ! As most things nowadays , money has taken over and ruined it .

    I went to the Anglia Cup , think it was 2003 , at Hillboro , never seen so many hares as that , they couldn't get the dogs in slips quick enough , Sir Mark Presscott , ran his expensive purchase , Pop Concert , the dog got out run , ran into a wood and appeared with a roe in his jaws .................as Presscott took a long pull on a big cigar he looked at me and said " That dog doesn't know it yet but that was a very defining moment in his career !! ".

    My Mrs didn't like hunting when we met , especially as I made her get rid of her cats before she moved in with me ! Anyway 3 years on she loves my lurchers and we regularly follow our local hunt as she used to ride , so she enjoys it all bar any killing , worse thing I had to deal with was when the dog spotted a feral cat 100 yds away and set off towards it , she saw this and I shouted " look away " but the atmosphere was a little frosty over tea that night I can tell you !

    What the lads were doing was legal , police told her to go but she came back , they should do what they do to hare coursers , take her car , license , fine her and ban her from attending any hunts , woman is a fruitcake !

    I like it when they say " lurcher/ terrier men are usually linked to other serious crimes " that way they can pin any crime that's ever happened in a ten mile radius to you ! I once got caught coursing by a keeper and the law arrived , the keeper had me been seen in the area in around 50 different vehicles , his story was that far fetched the police let me go !

    I would not usually comment when someone slags off someones advert as its nothing to do with me , but , to me , this looks like a genuine lad selling at decent price ...................whats he supposed to put .....................takes big numbers on the local playground and housing estate !!!!!!!!!!!!!...........no wonder so many have left !

    Agreed , the media , especially TV , seem to prefer to latch onto a " clean cut , Olympian " give him a contract , next thing after 2 wins hes doing TV adverts , 18 months later hes vanished off the scene , no wonder they have no heart or fire in them , bit different to the Mexican from the slums who needs to win to eat !

    I am very cynical about boxing nowadways , you think the pro game is bent ................. its got nothing on the amateurs ...............two years ago as a 15 year old my lad went to fight on a dinner jacket boxing night in Herefordshire , the lad he was fighting was unbeaten , as was my son , he was in the England squad as was the local " hero " , as my lad walked to the ring , the home team threw the towel into the ring , saying their lad was having stomach cramps ! Anyway it all kicked off , with locals and my mates , my lad was obviously distraught and it was made worse by the local lad

    Brookie , remove the blinkers you wear regarding Fury , don't make out Im lying about the two lads whose careers went off the rails due to bad advice/ company either ................as I was part of the bad company for a time ! BJS is in a more competitive weight div , anyone can see that , and finally why aren't the Yanks offering Fury big money to go there ...........because hes of no interest to them ..................to be honest I don't dislike Tyson , he is limited skillwise but hes interesting but he needs to drop the people around him and start being a pro ..................but whilst

    Gnash , he sounds a sensible lad who realises that being a traveller in boxing is not always a plus ! .Different sport , but we had Freddie Eastwood up here at Wolves , remember him , signed from Southend ? He " embraced " his traveller background round here , spent more time out trotting his horses whilst his game went down the pan , another case of " bad company " .

    I feed raw but when using the high protein greyhound feeds such as red mills and gain I found after a nights lamping the dogs were like toast racks , probably due to the fact a greyhound runs explosively for 30 seconds , that's it , a lurcher is running that run after run , my dogs seem to hold their condition better on raw .

    Marshman , That's something only the people involved with can answer , BJS , is very talented but in a more competitive weight division than Fury , perhaps the Frank Warrens of the game have trouble doing business with traveller boxers , perhaps the Furys have now given an unfair picture of travellers in the boxing world , boxing lives on rumours and tales , I can think of one or two local to me who it was rumoured were on the " Columbian marching powder " and with " the wrong crowd " , true or not , their careers hit the buffers , and these were future World Champs not bums , the boxing press

    Lets be brutal about the Fury circus , most of the public , wether we agree or not , do not like/trust travellers , the Tyson camp are doing nothing to win the public over , if you don't have the public onside you don't sell out your fights , which has been shown with the Chisora fight , boxing is all about money , you win fights , you fill seats , you get the title fights , what promoter is going to bother enticing Fury over to the States , he isn't "Box Office " , you don't have to be the best to get the public behind you , remember Bruno ?     Marshman , I know what you are saying , but round here , if you don't set the ground rules down within in a week they try to run the gym , then decent lads keep away , seen it happen loads of times .

    There seems to be some myth around boxing that travellers are tougher than a normal boxer , several of the gyms near me will not have them in , the boxing gym my son works in , they went in the sauna and pissed everywhere , dirty b*****ds ! Ive seen gypsies turn up and demand their kids are put into the ring to spar on their first night , which usually ends in the coach putting them in with his best lad and the traveller gets carried out ! Saw that happen once and the kids dad and 2 uncles then challanged the coach ( who had fought for Brtish belt in 80s ) , so they were then spanked also ! I

    I think the British boxing fans are loosing patience with the heavyweight scene in general , we have years of let downs , with Haye , Chisora , Harrisson and now Fury is behaving like a buffoon , the game need someone to give it some respect , who I don't know , but it definitely does !

    Fury was ok when he first came on the scene , but nowadays the circus that goes with him is getting boring and he will lose any respect that fight fans have for him , hes done nothing yet to brag about , the world heavyweight scene is probably the worst its ever been , never mind Tyson , Holmes , Frazier , Ali , or any others , he wouldn't have handled Bruno , Hide , Akinwande ! If he does ever stop fighting in sports halls , equestrian centres and places like that , would we see the Brits travel to support him like they did Bruno , Hatton , Benn , ................no chance !

    I saw it on the Staffs Countryside Watch FB page , great page that is , people put part of your car reg up if they have seen you driving the lanes etc , I cant really see how this thing will pay for itself , you will hear it and see it coming , still fancy my chances round the lanes in the Scooby !
