  1. well done mate I had some a few years ago and loved it but not really in the right spot for them here. (Watch the rats mate )
  2. he stood on a block of ice. Waited for it to melt. he killed himself
  3. Man found hanged dead in a room. Still hanging from a rope attached to a hook in the ceiling. Beneath him is a puddle of water. No other funiture in the room. All windows and doors locked from the inside. How did he die and who killed him ?
  4. I should be out but not sure when yet. I take my hushpower so I don't clear the wood first shot
  5. I think the crux of it is that they can be released but cannot be 'relocated'; i.e. you can take a fox away to treat it for accident, mange or similar but it should then be released back to it's original location. I can't find anything stronger than 'should' written anywhere offical yet, although the National Fox Welfare Society web site does state that relocation is illegal. DEFRA / Natural England has a couple of interesting data sheets on this, one on URBAN FOXES and one on RURAL FOXES. A couple of interesting quotes: "The removal and release of trapped foxes elsewhere is not r

  7. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=40877 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=40859 There you go Johny knock yourself out , and that's only on the first page of the terrier section " they have eyes but they do not see " Page 2 and 3 in the ten minutes it took me to get there - rapid turnover on there. Both are 'free to a good home' but yes technically For Sale so thanks for flagging them. What should we do about 'free to a good home' topics ? Do we let them through because no one is making any money ? Or do we stop them because p
  8. I imagine he was hurrying to go and trash that new mink cage of yours DS
  9. Shay, There are pros and cons with either way. A small number of people moderating based on opinion can lead to favouritism, inconsistency and in the end turn the whole thing into a clique. There is debate amongst the MOD community which is a good thing. Frankly I welcome the opportunity to sense check what I am doing because sometimes it's a difficult judgement, especially when it's outside your area of knowledge. That's another reason why you need a range of MODs; I freely admit I don't know much about the dog side of this and so tend to keep out of those sections. Others are

  11. Well all I can say mate is report these instances when they happen. As far as I know I have never ignored a pm that complained to me - either dealt with it or explained why I wasn't going to. It's a thankless 'kin task this is and half the time it's just protecting people from themselves. But we do it as best we can and the more help from the members the better we do it.

    My MATE

My mate said you'd say that
  13. Now this topic causes me a problem; by rights it's a 'wanted' in the wrong place and so should go. But clearly there is a bit of a debate going on here and I don't want to start off the cries of "censorship". So I have deleted the requirement and moved it to General The rules are what they are - they might change but for now only donators can post For Sale or Wanted and even then only in the right place and with the right info. Something needed to be done to get control of that section and it was touch and go whether the whole thing went in the bin. They might not be quite right yet but I
  14. OK Basically it works like this; The Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 starts by protecting virtually everything from virtually everything. There are then various 'licenses' granted that allow you to take or control various species. Some of these are granted on application (e.g. for cormorants) Others are 'general' licenses that are available to everyone and which you don't have to apply for. These general licenses allow you to 'take or control' certin birds for certain reasons only. It is important that you understand which license you are shooting under; be it protecting crops, pub
  15. here you go http://www.7wells.co.uk/rosebay-willowherb-138-p.asp They spread by rhizomes too so maybe you could dig some up if you know where they grew last year.

  17. Well it took me a while to get round to it - but this went up today A classic three section colony box
  18. I think a hotmail address would be fine - it's just that they need to be verified, so if you PM Ian once he's registered he should be OK. The only thing you'll have to watch is that you'll have the same IP address - so if he gets himself banned, you will be too
  19. Wilky's boxes do look the business from the pics I have seen but if you only want something basic it's fairly easy to knock up There was another thread asking a similar question a month back http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...ic=38119&hl=
  20. Hi Barry the terms you mention just relate to the number of posts - it helps to identify the new members from the old hands. You can find out about 'Donators' here
  21. what does that do? That's another one from Danny, Champion of the World - Roal Dahl has a lot to answer for on this forum. The story goes that the hair gets the raisin stuck in the Pheasants throat - doesn't choke it but it become so peoccupied it never moves off. No slur on nightwalker though, if he says it works I don't know any different. However I think it's worth clarifying at this point, for any novices who might be overcome with enthusiasm, that most of these methods are probably illegal. I can't quite put my finger on the precise legislation but it will be co
  22. No apology necessary. You're just looking out for the site and its members, which is fine. And Rolfe You are quite right. That's the advantage of having so many professional pest controllers as members - they have to keep abreast of the rules as they change and help to keep us all up to date.
