  1. I bought some and as I recall the P&P was disappointingly high If you just wanted to try one first I could sell you one of mine at the recommended DS mark up .
  2. if you don't have your cert with you then as a 'visitor' they may not allow you to shoot.
  3. Wow that was quick. I think I'm sorted for volunteers for the moment but I'll shout if I need anymore. Thanks everyone
  4. Not as 'surprised' as those rabbits are going to be I hope you enjoy the site and once the bunnies have got wise and run away every time the curtains even twitch, come have a look at the trapping section and we'll continue your adventure there Have fun, John
  5. I'm looking for someone who want's to build a Larsen Trap and hasn't built one before. I need a complete novice to test something for me - volunteers by PM please Thanks John
  6. The PDF reader is free from here http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/ You might as well get it installed, a lot of the legal douments on the web are in this format Oh and the section quoted for birds is then repeated almost word for word in section 11.1 to cover mammals and I think a catapult would probably be classed as a bow weapon but I've no idea if there is any case law precedent on that. However section 16.3 goes on to say that 11.1 doesn't apply 'if a license is granted' but I think that this license would need to specify that a method was allowed, not just the quarry.
  7. TOMO They weren't branded as that when I bought them but they could be made by the same company - who knows. The price sounds about right though - £15 plus VAT and killgerms £8 carridge would put them at what ? about £25 delivered ? Edited to say, I've just had a quick look and I think they are the same too http://www.killgerm.com/product-group.php?group=427
  8. Got a couple left if anyone is still interested.
  9. Try making moving the nest inside right up against the mesh and sort of 'continuing' it on the outside. Put a broken egg in the outside bit next to the wire and opening upwards. Put another broken one inside. I have found that sometime, once they've tasted the one outside they just can't help themselves ....
  10. It will usually have 'fenn' stamped on the plate but I suppose that is no longer any guarentee - could be faked. Other approved versions are the springer which will be marked 'springer' and the newly approved Solways traps. I think those are marked 'Solway' but not having handled one I can't be sure. However there's a man on here somewhere who can tell you for definate ............
  11. Where are you looking ? Can you share this source of misinformation ? A MK6 fenn is definitely not suitable for a fox - not designed for it, nor legal.
  12. "The trap shall be used only for the purpose of killing edible dormice (glis glis)(7), grey squirrels, mice, mink, rabbits, rats, stoats and weasels. The trap must be set in a natural or artificial tunnel which is suitable for minimising the chances of injuring or killing non-target species whilst not compromising the capture and killing of target species."
  13. That's another good link AG but I think it refers to all shooting quarry, including those suitable for shotguns rather than just air rifles. The original BASC article which Deker quotes does mention these other birds; '...........seasons when you can legally shoot game, and some wildfowl, these are generally not suitable quarry for air rifles'.
  14. Here you go. My camera has packed up so have had to use my daughter's which isn't that bril
  15. I have a relatively modern one of these somewhere - metal spring, wire loops etc. Would any info on that help ?
  16. I would imagine that this is all to do with the laws making finance companies responsible for checks on money laundering. From their perspective this is an 'unknown' person, with no verifyable ID, receiving a relatively large number of medium sized payments, most or all of which are not linked to any recognised auction site like ebay and so untraceble. This must have triggered almost all the checks and safeguards they have.
  17. Keep struggling on MT . And FPO, good luck with all those moleing jobs .
  18. Well here is a start http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/publicati...ife/WML-A05.pdf Clearly actually 'taking' any otters would be a bit drastic and I don't think anyone would support it. You may get permission to relocate somehow. However I think that it's unlikely they would grant a licence, certainly not straight off, and will push back on your mate to do more to exclude them. Criteria are: preventing serious damage to livestock, food for livestock, crops, vegetables, fruit, growing timber, or any other form of property or to fisheries, preventing the spread of disease, preservi
  19. And it might sound daft but as a general comment make sure they are on the right way round. They are compression springs and should already be under tension when the door is closed and should push the coil tighter when the lid is set, not open it out.
