  2. He's an actor and comedian, Dave, with an ever increasing reputation, a true star of the future and one that us and all our children can look up to as a role model. He'll be rocking up on Saturday night to provide the entertainment with his own unique brand of comedy and acting
  3. Pros.... It's quite light and compact for a springer and they are beautifully made and finished, also they've got Theoben's name on them if that matters to you. They've got the gas ram of course so a bit less noise and vibration than most springers. Cons... They're not cheap and they've a well deserved reputation for breaking scopes because the recoil from them is very sharp. Also the triggers aren't exactly first class and they're fairly hard to cock. If you're wanting a gas ram rifle, have a good look at the HW90, mate. They're a bit bigger than an Evo and also carry a bit more heft
  4. Wasn't it the back end of May, or is it a different show?
  5. To be fair, Ian, out of the thirteen pages so far there's only a couple of them with an arguement on which for this place is bloody good going and also there was a point to it, it wasn't name calling or anything like that Point taken though, it's been a good thread. For the most part.... Cheers.
  6. hhaha, unfortunately not! very similar looking, but theres quite a few differences. Heres a link to the specs if your interested SFC1000 - http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/laverda/laverda_1000sfc%2085.htm Jota 1000 - http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/Laverda/laverda_1000_jota%2082.htm doesn't really go into a huge amount of detail but its a good at a glance comparison. Cheers for the links All of a sudden I was fourteen again reading Performance Bikes and nursing a semi
  7. I found a hole in my trainer the other day that I could stick my finger in. I thought nothing about it until she reported me and now I'm banned from the gym
  8. lol............. keep em coming... dont forget this bike has done pushing 300000kms.. this thread was not about r1 v busas,,i was just trying to show people that it dont matter what you ride,, its still possible to get round the world on machines that dont look the part.. this lad was a one man band,, and a pleasure to meet.. not a ewan/charley with a full backup team behind them... great thread mate, nice to see it's still possible, my dad rode overland with my mum on a brand spanking Laverda Jota 1200 back along that's still in the garage, one owner from new! love hearing the sto
  9. Don't know, mate, I've never cleaned one either!! If I did ever feel the need to, I think I'd use a pull through. I've cleaned many RF, full bore and shotgun barrels over the years and I've never felt happy using those phosphur-bronze brushes with Youngs 303 oil. I know it's safe enough for the barrel, it's just a bit of a head thing. Yeah, got the kit to do the rifles and shotguns but nothing that will fit .20, im not sure whether to just persist with it and see if its just me or the pellets or try and give it a clean with a pull through or something? Its never been inaccurate bef
  10. Hi, mate. Don't think you're being ignored or anything like that. The Brocock's not a rifle I've heard any of the lads using so it is just a case of no one who's read your post can help you out. I'm sure if someone does then they will Cheers.

  14. Ha ha!! The whistling's just blown your cover!! You're really Roger Whittaker
  15. Mate, if you'd not been there the little lad would probably be dead too. FFS don't beat yourself up thinking 'what if', life's not like that. Fair play to you
  16. cos no one had done it before.. also done it on a fireblade...they say travel broadens the mind......... some of you lot need to get travelling!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, as I said, top marks for effort it must've been a right nightmare getting that thing plus all his kit through some of that terrain. I wonder how he kept the thing in tyres and I don't mean wear so much, more punctures. It only takes a tear to lunch a tyre and I can't see too many places in the middle of Africa or wherever stocking them. Was he solo or was there some kind of support?
  17. 10 out of 10 to the bloke for effort, but why the hell do somthing like that on an R1?? Is he going to re-trace his steps on a KR1 perhaps?? Was it for charity?
  18. I got married once. Not fecking doing that again!!

  20. When was the last time you were on holiday andy...............the 60's........... JT..... Feels like it, mate. It's been a while...
  21. Here's a challenge for you all. No one gets drunk, throws up, into a fight, shags some slapper, upsets the locals, gets poisoned by dodgy food or wears a knotted hanky on their heads Failing those, some of the above sound good
  22. That's one 'kin big rat in the fourth pic, mate!! Nicely done
  23. And if you see a penguin in the gloom don't shoot it, it's a nun If no ones lamped there for a while, you shouldn't have too much of a problem but once they get wise to it, they'll give it legs pretty sharpish. Use the minimum amount of light you can see with, a red filter's not a bad idea espescially if they're a bit lamp shy and as Rake's said, make bloody sure you know exactly what you're shooting at before making the shot. A wounded priest can get very nasty if cornered.... Good luck!! Cheers
