    Agreed, Jasper Either take the joke or choose to ignore it, unless it's a personal stab, I really can't see the point. It miffs me a bit when this 'them and us' BS comes in, we're all into field sports and all that goes with it. I don't keep dogs, but I've got plenty of friends who do and there's never any grief, so I don't understand why it should spill over on to here.

    I've never had anything to do with spike25blue's cattys but a mate has one of his hand made knives and it's a lovely thing. Beautifully finished off knife and sheath, proper quality kit

    I'm really sorry to hear that, Craig, and I wish I was in a better place myself and could offer you more help. It may well be worth contacting your local Masonic lodge.     I agree with you, Simon What I would also like to hear is the comments of those folks who have taken exception to the kind of posts and comments that I've outlined. It's a decent forum here for the most part, and I'm just wondering why some folks object so strongly to some of the light hearted threads?? As I've said before, if the banter wasn't here, it'd just be a question and answer site and who wants that?? Cheers.

    They're one of those guns, Mike, that are as often as not are a first gun and so lots of people have very fond memories of shooting their first rabbit or whatever with one, so their reputation has always out grown their actual abillity. They are rubbish compared to the competition, however. The trigger's crap by any standrds, the build's always been second rate, now third rate since they've moved production to Spain, they've got that stupid scope rail that means if you're useing any standard size mount the scope will be off centre, they always twang like feck and the moderator's next to us

    Don't buy a Lightning unless it's one of the older UK built ones, they're shite. Even those aren't really much cop, you'd be far better off buying a used HW, Diana or Air Arms springer. Cheers.

    Hi, folks. I was just wondering about the general thoughts of you lot about the banter that goes on in here sometimes. There's been a few threads lately that to my mind have clearly upset some of you guys. Chimp's spoof lamping thread is a prime example, I guess. I took it as harmless fun and thoroughly enjoyed it but some of you took it as an insult.     A clay shoot sounds like a good idea, as has been said. The set up cost will be relatively small but check out insurance cost first. If there's already a few in the area then there must be a market for it, just check out the other clubs and see how you can make your's more appealing than there's. Good luck!!
