  1. theyl be dead if he shot then in the head and at 10-15 yards it aint hard True enough, but the whole point is to be able to put your shot there as accurately as you can. Pot-shots is not the way to go. I should make no differance if your shooting rats or anthing else. If you can't be as sure as you can, don't shoot!
  2. It's the reason I gave up on .22 years ago. Made the shot, saw the hit, waved bye-bye to my dinner! It happened a good few times and I knew the shot had been good. That said, it only happened around the 30-35 yard mark, so I guess that's the reliable limit of a 12ft-lb .22 round head. I changed to .177 (Bisley Mags after lots of tests) and I never had the same problem again. If dinner legged it, it was my fault! I got hold of a .20 barrel for my gun a while back and have been trying Dynamic pellets and so far, I'm well pleased with the results. Cheers. Andy.
  3. But does it buy you beers afterwards??? Yeah. It was the bloody gun that got me p***ed and forced me to make the post!!!!
  4. Thanks, fellas. This is what I'd hoped for the first time round! It's good to know what folks are useing and why. Cheers!
  5. See! It's not a patch on mine!! I'd post some pics to prove my claim, but my camera's broke. No. Thinking about it, that's probably for the best......
  6. My Gat gun's best, now p**s off. It's got night vision and heat-seaking pellets. It skins and cooks my kills, then gives me a BJ afterwards!! Beat that!! P.S. Sorry for posting this after a few beers!
  7. Yup! It seems to be catching some of them well! Come on, what do you fans of techno think? There's always two sides! Cheers.
  8. Spanking bit of work there, mate!! Looking forward to seeing the tulip stock.
  9. That's about as far as mine goes too. I may be old school, but I've always found what's best is to keep it quick and easy to use in the field. When you've only got a very few seconds to compose your shot, you don't have the time to be pi**ing about with too much choice. I.R. is a thing I've used for the past year or so, and I do find it's useful for low light so long as the ret's it's not too brightly illuminated. I'd like to know what other folks find useful, or not?!?
  10. A spot on statement well put. There is no need for this crap. If folks have an issue with each other, can I sugest that they P.M. their problems and keep it off the boards? The rest of us do not give i s**t why folks don't like other folks, so keep it between yourselves. There are more than enough outside forces trying to screw up our sport without in fighting. Just leave it alone....... nice 1 mate hows life treating you anyway Going good, mate. I'll P.M. you soon. Cheers!!

  12. Timelord, I thank you. Also the other guys who put real posts up before. Go on then, chaps. What do you use and why?
  13. Hello again. Sorry to put the same post up twice, but the first one quickly degenerated into a slanging match. Any old way, what do you guys reakon? Too much techno these days? Not enough? What do you like/dislike and why? Cheers. P.S. Anyone wanting to use this post to take pot-shots at other folks on here, please feel free to f**k off. Thankyou! P.P.S. Thanks to you folks who put real posts up the first time round.
  14. Well said, Timelord! I put a simple f**king post up and straight away it's turned into a f**king slagging match!!!! Shall I or somone else put up a post called 'ner-ner-na-ner-ner' so you can get it out of your systems?????? Just learn to play nicely, or f**k off.
  15. That's funny! I never thought to put sharp stick or fly-mows on my first post!!
  16. Hi, all. I've read with interest the plight of some field shooters trying to get to grips with this 'tecno' thing that's been tying them up in knots. How much do you guys think we really need for hunting? What's you fave bit of techno kit (if any)?. Lasers, I'Rs., night vision, range-finders whatever. Cheers, fellas. Andy.
  17. Eley Wasps (blue) and RWS Superdomes went well out of my HW80.
  18. Not really. They're a very sturdy little rifle. Mine's a bit on the 'twangy' side but other than that, I can't fault it for a basic springer. Sounds like you got a proper result there, mate!
  19. What's wrong with just getting to know what you've got? Technology's a good thing (I think), but out in the woods or whatever, you do not have the time to be playing 'what shall I adjust next'?
  20. Don't you lot realise that the more cash you've got to throw at your 'gear', the better shot you are?!!? How can you possibly do a piece of pressed steel justice without having a couple of grands worth of 'gear'?? Shame on you all!!!!! P.S. Don't forget to weigh all your pellets. Oh yes......
  21. Hi, mate. Don't use copper grease, it's no good as a lube. As said, any car parts place will sell it, but if you can get hold of a graphite grease, it's the best stuff for the job.
  22. Ramcam. I get the impression from some of your posts that you're a bit of a gadget man. You're falling into a trap.... Yes, what you've got has LOADS of adjustment. Too much. The software is a rough guide made by someone who's not useing your gun, your ammo, your mounts or your shooting style. You're beating yourself up trying to make sense of it all. Just set your scope to an average (for you) setting, leave it alone and get used to how and where it shoots. Better still, get rid of the thing that's doing your head in and get a nice simple scope that's much better for field use. Good luc
  23. You'd need a big lense to get enough light at that mag, but if you have and it's what you're used to, then why not? What scope are you useing? MTC VIPER 8-32X60 AG IR If you're otherwise happy to use that scope in the field, I'd say that's fine. Quality scope with a large enough lense to cope with the magnification.
  24. The point about this is to get to know what you've got, and where it shoots! You can pi** and fart around with so much stuff and if you've got that option, it's so easy to pi** and fart about with all you can!! Keep it simple. The more you've got to play with, the more you've got to get wrong......... Eyes closed may work!!!!
  25. You'd need a big lense to get enough light at that mag, but if you have and it's what you're used to, then why not? What scope are you useing?
