  1. To hell with it!! Let's all get .20, have a hug then kiss and make up!! There is no best, just different........
  2. Used one years ago but I didn't get on with it. I had a RWS52 FAC at the time and the 52 shot very well for a spring gun of that power (32 ft.ib with Premiers). The Webley was hard to cock and kicked like a donkey making it VERY hold sensative. If you're after a spring gun on ticket, the Theoben Eliminator's probably the best, but that said, I'd recomend the 52 to anyone looking for a higher powered springer. Lots about second hand at sensible money. The only down side is it is bloody heavy!
  3. Yeah. I think it's a case of if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Stick with real retailers and steer clear of the 2 min wonders.
  4. Am I the only person to remember S.A.R.? Was it all a dream?? Someone pinch me!
  5. Does anyone remember Sporting Air Rifle from years ago? That seemed to be much more real and far less up the advertisers and importers ar*es. Maybe that's why it didn't last so long. Hey-ho. Capitalism in action!
  6. Be very careful with ebay. There's a lot of crap being sold that's not what it says. I've been stung twice (doh!) one a 'Tasco' and a 'Simmons'. Both total sh*te. I don't know if they're copies or seconds or whatever but they're no use on a gun. I've delt with Ramsbottoms before and had top service. Give them a go.
  7. Does anyone know where to buy sparks from? My angle grinder's run out.........
  8. Yes it is mate. Its a gun ive restored for its owner but hes lost the open sights off it and there expensive to replace.A nice small set of scopes would look nice on her hello adey i wouldn't bother with a scope, i've seen two or three that have had scopes fitted to the spot welded rail and the rail invariably lifts spoiling the gun (i have one that's had the same treatment though it's not as bad as others that i've seen ) the scope always creeps back too scoring the top of the trigger block, you may just be able to make out the damage in this pic (sorry, don't have a close up)
  9. Hi, Andy. Yeah, it can be a good read! Some good folks on here, decent advice and some top banter. Enjoy!!
  10. Just try whatever ammo you're useing in the end of your mod to make sure it's not too small. If it's a loose fit and the mod's lined up with your barrel correctly, it should be fine.
  11. Hi, mate. Is it an old under lever with the tap loading?
  12. Good luck to you, girl! I am sorry if I came over a bit harsh but I read it as a wind-up or a best ill informed. Sounds like you've got the backing you need, so go for it! All the best. Shoot well and stay safe! Cheers. Andy.
  13. Agree mate. Hell there's some sanctimonious folk on here these days. Yup! There's some wlesh folk on here too, but we've all just got to get on and play nicely!! :clapper: Get what you're saying, but I've never heard of 'wlesh' folk before, where do they come from? Bloody hell!! They're all over the place! Haven't you heard? Or maybe I need to get my eyes tested!? Cheers, mate!
  14. Agree mate. Hell there's some sanctimonious folk on here these days. Yup! There's some wlesh folk on here too, but we've all just got to get on and play nicely!!
  15. Yes, I was born knowing it all. It's just that I keep forgetting things..... You must admit it did sound a bit like a wind-up. Read her first post then picture the scene. If it doesn't make you cringe a bit, what will? Fair comment though, if it is real and it's a lot safer than it sounds, then good luck to the girl! Cheers.
  16. You're right, Shaun. When I read it my first thought was it must be a wind-up or a joke so I played along. I still hope it is and the punch line's coming soon. We are all under increasing scrutiny and gaffs like this is what we do not need.
  17. sorry cant help you mate. you bit far away from me and dont know anyone else. maybe someone else on here can help with someone closer, No worries, mate. Anyone else know of anybody? W.Yorks area??
  18. And far more easy to handle with one hand over your eye...........
  19. I think I understand now ,I missed it first time round. You two are a circus act. He juggles your ferrets and dogs while you shoot his gun partialy blindfold! Is that it? That's fantastic! Where can I see you both perform? (do you supply body armor, or do I bring my own??) Good feckin' luck to you both!! (I hope you've got the red cross standing by)
  20. Good point. Out to 40 or 50 ish yards, I don't s'pose it'll be too far apart.
  21. That's a top class piece of wood on your gun there, mate. Nice to see some proper workmanship these days! I'd love to have a chat with you about one for my HW90 but I'm up in Leeds, so maybe that's not doable. Do you (or anyone else?) know of anybody closer to me who may be able to help? I've talked to my local gun shops but no joy. Cheers. P.S. Well done!
  22. It's not that simple. The lighter .177 will slow down faster than the .22 even though it's smaller. It gets complicated with all sorts of aerodynamic and ballistic maths that are for brighter folks than me to work out! It'd be an interesting experiment though.....
  23. And how the hell can you fire one of those with one hand over your eye? If your fella's far enough into shooting to own a .243, why on earth can't he cover the basics? Odd!!
  24. Any time you change anything, check to make sure. Fussy little buggers, airguns!
