hey matey my harrier is in .20 and im very pleased with it . and the damage it does is untrue . the other night i was out shooting and caught mr squirrel nutkins lurkin in a tree . i shot him and he droped straight away .when i retrived him i looked where the pellet landed .it went straight up thru his jaw and the damage was emence .looked like he bin hit with a sledge hammer.so it gets the thums up from me. Yeah, I think .20 gets overlooked too often. What pellets do you recomend? Cheers.

It's funny how we all try to shoot little bits of lead at stuff and get such different results! I gave up on .22 years ago 'cos of one too many runners. I still use it for close range ratting etc, and find it's great for that, but when the range gets past 25 yards or so I have little faith in it being able to penatrate well enough. .177 pellets are strange little things though. If they are too light (less than 8.5ish grains) while they may fly fast, they also slow down fast and lose their down-range energy very quickly. I've been using Bisley Mags for a long time until recently, and I can't

Hi, mate. Have you still got your Tracker? I'm in Leeds and interested. Cheers. Andy.

There are some first class folks on here, and I hope that they continue. I'm fairly new to this site, but have enjoyed the banter, views, opinions and general chat that I've encountered on here. We all should be able to have our say but it seems to me that one or two ego's have moved things away from what we should be about..... Folks will always have there own stands. Fair enough, but let's not let it end up in insulsts and p***takes. I've made this point before, we need to look after our own. If we fight ourselves, we lose. BIG TIME. Keep the faith, chaps. Please? Cheers, fellas

Aaron? Are you sure it's the moderator that's come lose? I've just checked the fitting on my Lightning, and even with the grub screw removed, there's feck-all movement. Are you sure the barrel's not gone slack in the jaws? Take the mod off, then try to move the barrel. May be a trip to the gunsmiths! Also make sure the mod's fitted as far down the barrel as it'll go, if it's close to the end, that could cause it to wobble. Check the stock screws too. Sometimes it's not always obvious exactly where a little movement's coming from. Cheers.

There should be a small alan headed retaining screw where it tapers towards the gun. Make sure it's not come lose. Don't over-tighten it, or it'll round off. Just nip it up.

What is the minimum ft/lb to kill rabobit @ 35 yards
andyfr1968 replied to Quasar's topic in Airgun Hunting
well if ur trying to make yourself look big in the airgun section with your 17hmr thats all very well but it looks like a gat gun compared with my 300 win mag . As put-downs go, mate, that's spankin'!!! Well done!! -
Does anyone really go for all this 'pellet expansion' guff? I've always found the pellet that hits where I need it and goes in the furthest works best. I don't subscribe to all the 'over-penatration' stuff. With only 12ft-lb's to play with, I want as much as I can get! Cheers.

Hi, mate. If you learn to shoot well with a springer, you'll be a better shot in the long run. They are a bit harder to master but once you've done it, you'll have a much better grounding in general gun handeling. Also if you're just starting out, you may not want all the hassle that goes with a PCP. Before anyone jumps on me, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with them, it's just they're maybe not best as a first gun. Cheers.

Hi, mate. Have a look in the 'for sale' section on this site. Some real bargins pop up. CO2's ok, so long as (as said) the gun's up to it. Remember though that what you may save when first buying, you'll quickly make up for it with buying more gas, and maybe having to dick about with the gun to bring it up to speck. Cheers.

How come when ever certain 'names' pop up on threads, it always seems to go a wee bit wierd? If you know who I mean, please feel free NOT to reply. It's an observation, not a critacism. Ah-hem.....
-
You'll be fine with that, mate. It's mainly for cartrige guns so they put the sticker on so no one will fit it to anything larger than .22rf. Sould work a treat on what you've got! Cheers.

It's vibration that kills scopes on springers. If it seems harsh, then (as said) maybe have it looked at. With scopes, keep it simple. I broke a couple of 'twddle-this-mess-with-that' scopes on an old RWS52 that was putting out 32. Gave up on them and ended up with a good (Tasco, I think) 6x42. Used it for years with no problems. Cheers.

It must be so cool to be paranoid. Safe in the knowlage that they are out to get you....... I s'pose the rest of us will just have to wait for some facts. How dull... We all know our sport's under the microscope, but let's keep it real. Ok?

In the next two years? Does anyone else know anything about this?

I agree with James about the rifle. The pistol could be a very early Original (Diana). Cheers. Bugger! Edit. You said that on your first post. Ooops....
