  1. What weight are those pellets and are they any good in weihrauchs?. 8.44 grains quoted. Shoot very straight through my 90 but seem to slow down quite quickly. I've had my 90 for over ten years and tried (I think) most field pellets through it. Each gun is fussy, to a degree, but the heavy .177 Bisleys, or Barracudas do have an advantage as the yards increase. Try each type, mate, and see what you and your gun likes best.
  2. Thanks for that. I mainly use an HW90 for most of my shooting, but I use CO2 for closeish range pest control. The Crosman's a great little tool but I'd like the multi-shot option of the 850. Did you find it reliable? I've heard some reports of jamming. Thanks.
  3. Hi all. I'm thinking of getting an Umarex 850 and was wondering if anyone of you has any experiance with these? Before any body says CO2 isn't any good etc, I use a Crosman 2250xt and have had no complaints about it (so long as it's not very cold out!). Cheers!
  4. If they group as well, I'd go for the Mags. They hold their energy so well at longer ranges. I've used .177 Mags (or Barracudas, exactly the same pellet) in my HW90 against everything from rats to rabbits, pigeons to crows and I can't fault them. Good luck, mate!
  5. Yep. The sg3 works a treat on springs and the lighter grease is good as a general lube.
  6. They hit hard but fly very slowly due to their heavy weight in .22 sub FAC. Placeing shots accurately at longer lange with them ain't easy. Work great in .177, I swear by them.
  7. Well then, Bob. If you've already spoken on a point, the rest of us will just shut up 'cos Bob has spoken. All hail BOB!!
  8. Really? So why bother to make a point at all? Do we argue, or do we disscus. It's a fine line......
  9. I fitted one to my Webley Xocet a while back (from the chap above) and it's made a huge improvement. No more twangs and rattles! I've had an HW90 for a long time and while I wont say it shoots as well as the HW, it's not too far off. It's easy to change back, though God knows why you'd want to... One ram for the price of two good springs? No contest!
  10. just to raise a point, your going on about all the immigrants sponging off out benefit system (which i agree with you upon, needs to be sorted out) but im pretty sure there are many many more born and bred english people who have never worked a day in their lives and they will probably raise kids that will never work a day in their lives and probably contribute as much to the stabbing and shootings as immigrants and so the cycle continues..... now that needs to get sorted before anything else. A very good point, very well spoken. It's not something that can ever be sorted on here, but it to
  11. Pardon?? Is this a joke? The 'good bits from the war'? What the f**k are you on????????
  12. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll check those out and p.m. you back. Cheers. One point. I seem to have caused some agg. How can we be responsible to live targets if we can't practice? That was the point of my question. I am not (no one is ) a god of shooting so we all need to keep our eye in with some target shooting, be it cans, stones. apples, paper, knock-down, WHO CARES?? Be nice please folks, life's too short!!
  13. Thanks, Jim, I'll check that out. Cheers, mate!
  14. I've got one of Webleys own on mine. Cost about £30 and works a treat.
  15. Nice one, mate! You'll probaly get someone saying that 'Co2 isn't Really suitable for Powering aiguns' etc. Great little guns!
  16. Thanks, mate. I know the law on this one, it's just the area of Leeds I live in's a proper dump.... There's been problems with some of the local brain-deads causeing hassel with airguns so there's no way I'm going to risk it. It really p*****s me off. I'm 40, I've shot scince I was 9. Grown up around guns. Never been in trouble, and I can't do a bit of target practice in my own garden. This is England. F*****g rock on.............
  17. That's great! Thanks a lot, my mate. Cheers!
  18. Thanks for that. If you could, I'd be very thankful. Cheers, mate.
  19. Me too!! The two farms I shoot on are owned by the same bloke. He's fine with me keeping out of the way, shooting his rabbits etc but he's not too keen on me shooting for practice. As I live in shitty part of Leeds, I can't shoot at home. I'd have the feds round in seconds, lose my gear, then have to wait god knows how long to get it back! I'm not a 'target' shooter bit I could really do with some place to practice without loseing my gear or my permission. Any help anyone??
  20. Oh dear. Have I said a bad thing? I just need somewhere to practice. I'm not gay, honest!!! LOL
  21. FOR DOGS FIELD TRIALS? Sorry. I mean Field Target for airguns.
  22. Hi, all. Can anyone put me in the right direction for an FT club in the Leeds area? Oddly, the local gun shops don't seem to know. Cheers.
  23. Co2 is fine. It just has it's limitations. So long as it's not really cold (below 5'C ish), it'll be ok. I use it with good results in an XT2250. The small 12g bottles do have problems as soon as the sun goes behind a cloud, but the 88g gives you a much more real world peformance. For what you pay and what you get, they are well worth a look!
  24. As said, it depends on what you're needing. I use springers and co2. I've used quite a few PCPs but have never bought one as I don't think the pros outweigh the cons (for me). My Crosman XT2250 is a very useful little tool. Small, very quiet with a modarator, accurate and plenty powerful enough for field use. You get 200 shots (don't believe the 300 that Crosman claim) from the 88g bottle and so long as it's not below 5 deg.c. outside, the power won't drop off. If you buy in bulk, they're only 3-4 quid a go. That said, my main tool of choice is my HW90. Totally reliable and versatile, and as I
