    JSR???

Go for the one you looked at! Nothing wrong with that for the price as an all round air gun sight. They also do a 2-7x32 that's a little cracker! My mate has one on his Lightning and can't fault it. I've had two Simmons 1,5-5x32 scopes from them, one for my Lightning and one for my Crosman 2250XT. Bloody lovely bits of kit for close-medium range. To be honest, for 30 yards, any half good 4x scope is enough. Cheers.
  2. That'll do you fine, mate. Good, strong, basic scopes for sensible cash. Nickerson's have never sold a good pellet. Thay should be ok for plinking, but I'd be wary of them for feild use. They're made by whoever makes them the cheapest, then Nickersons ask them nicely to put their name on the tin to be sold over here. Cheers.
  3. Be very careful with ebay. There's a lot of crap on there that's not what it says. Seconds, copies all kinds of junk. Me and lots of others have been stung... Stick to proper retailers. JS Ramsbotom's are well worth a look Cheers.
  4. Hi, folks. I've put an ad in the 'wanted' section on here but I thought I'd give this a go too. I had an old 52 a long time ago and I fancy another. Has any of you got one that may need a new home? Cash waiting, either caliber, W.Yorks area but will travel. Many thanks. Andy. P.S. It's only one of the above rifles that I'm after. Cheers.
  5. Wow! Is that a self contained gun that needs no special gear to run it? Sounds a bit like a springer..... Ta!
  6. Yep, the HW25 or 50, if you can find one, are cracking little guns. Last forever, won't break the bank, and shoot like they should. Proper small air rifles. Good luck!
  7. Bugger.... I've spent 40 quid (twice) on a bit of ally tube with a thread on and some pink hair curlers inside. And they say the Germans don't have a sense of humor. Yeah, right. Cheers........
  8. Fair comment. I'm half Irish. 'Nuff said! Cheers.
  9. No, no, wise one! Missed the point, you have. It's not about makeing them like a PCP, it's all about makeing the most of what you've got. Once the inherant problems of a spring gun have been addressed, mainly recoil and vibration, you've one! You're still quids in compared to a PCP and once it's sorted, that's it. Job done. No matter how much you spend on a pre-charge, you're still stuck to a pump or an air cylinder each time you've fired a few pellets. I know it's each to their own. It'd be a very dull world if we all liked the same stuff!! Cheers. Andy.
  10. Result! Hope you get many more. Cheers.
  11. A good, well set up springer is as accurate as a PCP. It's just that they're harder to shoot well. You can hold a PCP any old way or rest it on something solid and it'll still shoot the same. You can't with a spring gun and that's where the errors begin. Once you really get to know your gun and how it shoots, a good shot with a top spring gun will be able to match a pre-charge. It's just harder to do! Cheers.
  12. Hi, mate. Put a gas-ram in it, it'll transform the gun! I fitted one to my old Webley Xocet and I can't believe the way it shoots compared to how it did. No more twangs and rattles and no need to worry about leaving it cocked for too long. I've just ordered kits for my Lightning and Tracker too. I'm a big fan of these kits, they really do take springers to the next level. Cheers.
  13. Am I an old git just stuck in my ways? Or does anyone else prefer the nice simple nature of a good old spring gun over PCPs? I've tried them and I want to like them, but they just don't seem to do it for me. Cheers. Andy.
  14. I had one of those too! The Milbro had a slide action but the SP50 was a 'pop out', same as the Gat. Both had enough power to kill an elephant at 200 yards, I seem to remember..... Maybe 100 yards, thinking about it. Long time ago! Cheers. Thanks for that Andy. I don't remember a pop out as posh as that! I wondered why I couldn't make out the rear grip for the cocking slide. They do look very similar from side on though. You are right about the range on the Milbro, it was only 100 yards!! 110 with darts!
  15. Enjoyed that, Davy. Good read! Take your SP50 next time. Far better than the HW!! Cheers.
  16. Yeah, it's always been the same. I started this thread to see if anyone had any real succes with odd shaped ammo and it's just confirmed my thoughts. You can't beat a good dome head as an all rounder in the field. The only uncoventional pellets I've tried that really seem to work are the Dynamics. Shoot great out of my old HW90 .20. Clearly expansion's not an issue with them, as they're made from tin. Cheers. Andy.

  18. Im sure if you look round other airgun sites you will hear of this guy . He lives not 15 miles from me , and many times ive offered to go round and `collect ` peoples money , or guns/thing they`ve sold him . There is a warning on one of the sites all about him and how he has recently taken somebody for £1200 . It makes no odds to me , send him your gun if you want it serviced , but like i said in the first post . You have been warned . Fair enough. If the guy's got that kind of form then f**k him right off. It's just I know how sour grapes can be very damaging, but if
  19. Good god, that takes me back!! I had one when I was a kid. Kicked my mate's Gat guns arse! (just) Cheers!
  20. Has anyone actually had any dealings with this outfit? Speculation is no good thing.... Cheers.
  21. Hi, folks. What do you think about pellet expansion? With the small amount of power we've got to play with, is it good to waste some de-forming a pellet, or is it best to keep it intact? I can see the point for very close range, but what about general field use? Cheers. Andy.
  22. Top bloke! Pleasure to deal with.

    Cheers.

    Andy.

  23. I'll be very happy to see some sence returning here. So many good posts have been ruined by some folks sh*t-slinging. Good luck, SS. Keep the faith!! Cheers. Andy. Baaaaaaar.....
  24. All the ones I can get! Bisley Suprefield and Pest Control, Loguns, Crosman Premiers, Benjamin Air Bullets, and the Dynamics and Baracudas. My HW's barrel does not seem to like the Bisleys. The Loguns, Crosmans and Benjamins are all .22 weight and while they fly well, they have the same kind of tragectory as .22s so there's no gain there. The Crosmans are very accurate though! The Baracudas and Dynamics really work well, flying faster than .22 and grouping to an inch at 40 yards. The Dynamics in paticular fly very well and at 12 grains fly nearly as flat as the .177 Mags I'm used to. C
