I agree with all you said, it will be a very pleasant surpise to me if Hatton beats Pacman.

Green bones are a great source of protein ,but don't overdo them as they can constipate your dog ,hard white crap will soon show you ,my youngest dog cries if his stools are too hard and I cant say I blame him just use your commonsense.
-
Well if you dont ask you will never know!

I'm not a fan of tripe ,I think it is well overated as a staple dog feed.Pups require a protein percentage of between 24%-27% if on a dry meal diet,.Tripe is low in energy, protein, and fat , it has only about 2/3rds the energy content of beef and works out about 12% protein and 2% fat.If you give a pup a split 50/50 evening meal.half dry meal ,half beef mince and add fat to the diet in the form of lard ,plus the flaps you get on sheep ribs ,I think you will be doing the pups better service. Cheap cuts of chicken, beef ,lamb are all superior to tripe ,imo.Plus they don't stink going in the do

I feed raw ,just gutted and skinned ,give the carcasses 3 weeks in the freezer ,but a mincer means you can maximise the space and bag it into handy portions ,wish I had one.Ive 3 freezers and what with bunnies ,bones and "sundries" they are perpetually full.

Sorry to hear of your loss ,but the last thing you do for them is allways the hardest. I lost my old dog Sonny to kidney cancer, he had an op for the removal of one kidney ,but after 6 months it came back , and I had to do what was right for him, though it rips you to bits ,its whats best for them, and you did it,chin up.

I find it very strange that people here in the UK , with zero experience of Wolves or Coyotes ,,persist in telling our American friends which type of dog they should be using. If Bullx's were the dog to do the job wouldn't they be using them? After all that is where the APBT comes from .From what I gather from reading these very interesting posts ,the Coyote is a stamina animal and has a turn of foot,I havent seen a lot of bullx's at work.but those I have were hard dogs that lacked a bit of pace,I would doubt they would get on terms with a Coyote, unless the Bull blood was diluted drastically wi

Do you have any trouble with the sinews clogging up the works? I wouldn't think so that looks a beast of a mincer.Do you freeze the mince, prior to feeding?

A lot of people tell you that they start a dog on the lamp then progress to daytime after wards ,I do it the otherway round.I like a dog to be competent at daytime catching before I take it out on the lamp, then I think a dog is used to following its quarry wherever it goes.

Well that's a perceptive comment and one that's quite logically obvious if you think about it,I mean there's no shortage of Bull blood in the States is there?

Yeah mate, I'll probably have a go again ! I wasn't to bothered about entering last time, as I knew some of the dogs and knew for a fact they were better lamping dogs than mine, but LDR was struggling to get the numbers, so I entered. I'm pleased I did, as I really enjoyed it and met some great people, yourself included. There was only one arsehole, and a couple of his stupid mates who tried to spoil it, but everyone can see that now !! Lamping's finished now, fishing has started, so those helicoptors can park up !!! LOL !!! Cheers I think that is the spirit that the competition should -

If you jumped down from a tree on it, it would be flattened like a fur rug!

I've no plans to hunt wolves(illegal anway) or coyotes for that matter, so a dogo or pit wouldnt be very useful. I think my lurchers can handle a hare or even a coyote by themselves. Last coyote I took was a accident out after hares, my mate has brothers to my dogs and they took a coyote by accident last year too. his falcon took off after the coyote and started hitting it and the dogs joined in, end of coyote. The only person I know personally that has caught wolves is my girlfriend and she caught them with nets! th e wolves were bigger than her but real scared of people. She just jumped on

keeping 2 dogs, will they fight ?
inan replied to owendbowendb's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
I only ever keep dogs . Ive had two major fights among mine in 40 years, both in the summer ,and both because of jealousy around me,I keep 3 males now and their pecking order is established ,2 are kennelled together the other on his own,but I can interchange them if I go lamping swapping them over in their beds.In the day time they have the free run of the garden ,but I dont leave them alone all together as 2 will smoetmes bully the other, and what starts as vigorous play can escalate . Keeping 2 dogs should not be a problem ,but I would wait a little till the one you have now is a bit ol -
Yes I used to bike my saluki cross around the streets ,got reported for having a halfstarved greyhound,an RSPCA Officer called ,a young kid about 20 she was ,asked to see my dog ,I showed him to her ,she said Ive never seen such a fit animal. Funnily enough the woman who reported me MRs X,[they never have the guts to give their name] has a fat ex track greyhound looks like a labrador, never gets a run, never off the lead, leads a miserable existence, 15 lbs overweight. You cant talk to bigots.

Obviously got pheasants mixed up with partridges a common mistake.
