  1. Just a quick thanks for the advicce all..... e is only in his 3rd week of the raw and is looking great, gonna give him another week and start a bit of strengthening with him, Thanks
  2. thanks molly, yea he is defo pushing his luck, little s*** ha ha I bought a high pitched whistle today and was gonna try that everytime he barks. had them out today for long walk and was deafening me all day on the drive out, he's not too bad coming back when he's knackered but has little spurts and when I blank him he just settles, doesn't work unless they have been out, or been for long long walk. will do what you said, sounds as it may work. I have tried doin the blanking him on its own without the walk in between and he just doesn't stop even if I ignore him for over an hour..
  3. Thanks for the replies, What I want is to be able to settle him and chill him without the use of collars if poss, if I used a water pistol the older dog would go nuts, he would attack the water, used to attack the hose when cleaning the yard. They are going through that competitive stage at the minute, the dog has let the pup away with loads for months but has he is getting bigger (7 months now) he is having him off and pinning him down and submitting him, still only a warning and doesnt draw blood. They are hard work ha ha so as far as putting the pup in the front the older dog w
  4. Can anyone give any advice please. Pup will not shut up when contained, put the dogs in the back of the Jeep, and as soon as I go to shut the back door the pup starts kicking off and won't shut up, tried all kinds, now my 5 year old dog is kicking off when he kicks off, tried quieting him and then as soon as shut the car door again he is kicking off again, seems like he is either kicking off because he knows he is going out or because he is telling me off for putting him in the back tried throwing a few big chews in the back, sausages and whatever, and quiet until it's gone, he is
  5. thanks skycat, I think the bigger the bones the better really because even when I have been seperating the dogs, the dog is still munching his food at 100 mile an hour. I think a mincer in the future is the way forward, when I have more space. Nice one skycat
  6. Nice one everyone. Took him to a new vets today to get the Drontal instead of getting it throught the post from the internet, I wouldn't take a drug ordered from a website myself so I won't give me dogs them either.... tried everywhere to get it over the counter so ended up going to a vets and registering, they were sound weren't too keen on me last vets because they weren't too keen on terriers if ya know what I mean. Anyway weighed him and he was 12. kilos, when he was in top shape he was around 14k and was tight and solid and he is a leggy and typey dog but strong too. Some go
  7. Thanks skycat, will get some bones in, I agree with you on the stress stuff too.. thanks
  8. Alright tom, I have just replied to someone else for small skin patches, yours looks like a fungal infection best treated when first noticed because spreads to other places. Dont know about the one on the head but the others look like ringworm or other fungal type infection, heres what I said to the other lad, for you as its all over the dog I would act quickly. If ya cant get none let me know and I will get hold of some off a mate next week who got me mine for me. A lad I know got some proper stuff from poland it does take a couple of weeks though to get rid and you have to clean it and put i
  9. Looks like ringworm or other fungal type infection, one of my dogs had similar only on back leg, because when the dogs are out near farmland often they can get the ringworm etc easy. Dont bother with antisceptic creams etc they will add moisture to it and the more moist it is the longer it stays and grows. The only wet you should put on it is to clean it and then apply the right cream. The creams you want to get ya hands on you could get from ya doctors or prob off net, you could also do with an anti microbial wash like ya get in hospitals to wash ya hands, use it to clean around it. If it i
  10. Thanks everyone, Fed him today on the chicken and just added a tin of dog food and then evening fed him the lamb he wasn't too keen on the lamb until I threatened to let the pup out the room, Its hard work ha ha Anyway thanks and your help is appreciated. Hannah4181 -- I am in Liverpool, do they deliver anywhere up this way? Also, what do you do about storage though with all that raw in full carcase peices etc, concerned might not have the freezer space for it at the min. The blocks are prize choice, frozen ones like you said, they are pretty easy to store in the freezer, so if can
  11. nice one lads any more advice with this will be appreciated. (dog fox), will get e recent pic up later or tomorrow, he doesn't look too bad he looks like a really fit dog whilst in his stance but he is not packing as much solid muscle as usual and not as tight.. (skycat), thanks mate, will try totally seperating dog whilst eating, I have a few different packs of the raw, beef, chicken, beef mix, turkey, lamb, white fish, tripe, beef & tripe, and chicken & tripe. Gonna feed different ones every day so gets nutrients from different kinds like you mention too. was looking for
  12. Can anyone advise as to how much feed you give your dogs on the BARF foods, I have just stocked up my freezer and starting dog on it tomorrow. It says on the back, medium size dog 400g but doesnt say per feed or per day, once or twice a day etc.. What I really want to know is, do you lads mix it with biscuit or anything, do you feed once or twice a day and is one 400g pack enough for a days feed for a dog (patterdale) or do you lads feed more. The reason I ask is the 400g pack looks compact and dont know whether it will be enough for him. Starting on this because my dog has lost a
  13. Lovely dogs mate, Kimbo looks like one of my dogs Blister, he's black with hint of choc in the sun. Same good posture and build mate. BLISTER
  14. These are the best I have seen on the net mate, http://www.dogtrailers.co.uk/boxes.html I know a few lads who have better fitted ones than these, but aint seen the lads for while so no way of finding where they got theirs, I am after some myself and was gonna get these, I have seen others in cars around liverpool aswell, there called colpress or something, they are as good as these and are supposed to be made to measure and pretty cheap. If ya see any other decent ones, post them here Nice one heres another decent one http://www.njaluminiumlinings.co.uk/quad-a...x-pr-16233.
  15. Yea, recon its real, I have seen one myself this big when I was a kid. We used to have loads a rats around the houses and in the bins, if ya opened our bin in the back garden about 3 at a time would fly out, they were only normal size, we then got a jack called Midge that would do them all. Few years later I was in the back doin keep ups with a ball, it was about 7 or 8 at night in the summer and still pretty light, I seen something jump onto the fence in the corner of me eye, immediately thought it was a cat and went to boot the ball at it, looked and then it climbed down and its fu***** long
