Well it should be catching and retreiving by now ,I would get rid of it. Seriously its a baby mate ,give it time ,bond with it ,learn it basic obedience ,especially the recall,sit stay etc,plenty of time for the rest.ATB

Ive bought their mince for dogs in the past but find it too expensive now , but the real snag is its soaked in water to make up the weight ,try putting it in a bowl to thaw out ,the amount of liquid that comes out is unbeleivable. Asda do an economy mince for around £1.30 per 800g,that is much drier, ie less water.Not sure of the protein content ,but might be worth a look?

I would like to add to this, i have coursed with penny and her partner andy in the east of england coursing club and some of their dogs were excellent, as you know it is not easy to get a good coursing dog, always dreaded being paired up with one of theirs plus several other members dogs, I would second this ,just seen this thread ,any one who thinks Penny Taylor does not work her dogs is speaking from ignorance ,and is probably a misogynist.Penny is out daily with her dogs,bushing ,ferreting etc,Ive known her for years, she has a very good grounding on dog behaviour and health ,dietary

Slating!! I said i bet his dogs breath stink(not his) and asked if he let the lick him!! I wouldnt want the shit bladder anywhere near me, and i was having a going, its you coming back with the bother ... And these dogs have been domesticated, they arent wild. You got feed a shit bag to most dogs, and they will inevitably throw up! And there breath will stink even worse! If thats what you like to smell in your dogs pens then fair enough.. I Gut mine then boil for a 1 1/2 hour then feed, or Gut +Freeze for 3 weeks then feed. The[ Bottom Line ] is they are not wild dogs[wolf,y

Some of my permission is on grazing land ,where young calves are reared with their Mothers,all my dogs love the calves shit its the milk content that attracts them.Rabbits eat their own shit before finally passing it its called refection. I thought it might be beneficial health wise , so I attempted it myself but I got cramps in my stomach trying to reach round under .

The bulk of the meat diet for my 3 is raw rabbit,gutted,skinned and frozen for 3 weeks,I used to freeze them for 2 weeks but Skycat told me 3 weeks is safer,I dont know why, but she is usually pretty spot on with dietary facts. I thaw out the giblets and cook them with a stock then pour over the dinner. ps I allways feed my 3 [male] dogs , seperately ,ie with a grill between them to avoid any kennel scraps. Lately I noticed my youngest dog was getting very round,I found the reason when I caught him jumping into the oldest dogs pen [after he had vacated it] to clean up his left overs.

My Vet is a greyhound VET ,he does not treat anything but running dogs . I give the other vets a very wide berth, for all but the very basic of problems. A woman vet at a local practice assured me that rabbits do not harbour tape worm, after I asked for some Drontal Plus ,telling her that my dogs are fulltime workers at pest control. vets are only human and everyone is wrong sometimes. if you know they are wrong educate them but do it nicely a good vet will listen Each to their own I would allways prefer to go to a specialist running dog Vet who encounters the particular problems -

good vets at clarendon house for all animals why do you need a special vet for a long dog? shouldn't require veterinary treatment any diff to any dog surely? No offence ,but you could not be more wrong. If you have a problem with a running dog that is ANYTHING out of the humdrum ,ie jabs minor ailments,ALLWAYS go to a running dog vet,like a Greyhound trainer,most Vets are general Practitioners ,who see a wide spectrum of animals ,for eg cutting the budgies beak, neutering the cat,etc.They haveNO specialist knowledge of running dogs. For Unknown injuries ,be they muscular,tendon problems -
Red, Max and Ace , I think, are out of these.

sorry for my ignorance spiderpigs comments? reason i was asking was my background is in racing greyhounds, but i love the saluki type dogs there just awesome atheltes, well anyway i was recently talking to the owner of a dog that competed about getting a pup and just wanted some more info regarding the standard of the comp etc. Alot of people tell you stuff you want to hear in the hope of selling stuff so just wanted to check up the info. I'll try to be more careful next time and not jump in with my size 12s. No worries ,PM's might be the way to go Mark.

Preban people relied on a hunters conscience and sense of sportsmanship, something that seems to get rarer every year sadly.As Sarah says a breeding time ban would be welcomed by the majority of dog folk I think.

best thing you can do is spend as much time with the pup as possible and get a strong bond with the pup.....being negetive will not help......just because it seems more laid back then the others dont mean jack shit .....if i was you i would take ti everywhere with me when its possible .....you never know you could have a real good dog in your kennels ......but being negative from the start will only give your pup a bad start......paitence and plenty of time spent you will see progress ..... Thats a very common sense take on it I think.

Then you would be ok ,as you would not be coursing
