All down to personal preference really I like black dogs ,and Ive had about 6 of them.White dogs weren't so popular when I was young.A few years ago several fine white and light fawn coursing dogs appeared and then there seemed to be a spate of them, pick the one you like,Black dogs stand out just as much when they are on stubble or wheat as a White dog does on plough ,probably more.

If you can't see a foreign body in the pad, try manipulating each toe individually,if there is no reaction from the dog ,press the pad firmly ,to see if the foot is bruised.Still no reaction ,try flexing the leg [bringing the foot back to the underneath part of the pastern], holding it for a few seconds then letting it return to its natural position, still no reaction? The problem maybe higher up possibly in the shoulder, press your thumb in the muscle just below the shoulder does the dog react? Can you stretch the dogs leg out and right back without any reaction from the dog? Is there any sw

Just a thought as last poster said it could be some flick from whatever was chased got down their throats . Another possibility ,are the dogs" pullers"? Sometimes they can bruise their throats pulling on their collars when something jumps. Kennel cough is a dry hacking cough,if they are just coughing normally try glycerin and honey ,syringed or trickled down their throats for a few days and leave off the bones for awhile they might aggravate the problem.ATB

It could be kennel cough which is highly contagious ,because there are several strains its difficult to guard against ,Benylin is as good as anything.

I run in Essex a bit ,can't offer you a day out as its my mates permission ,5 months is a little young ,imo,I would get the dog chasing ,then when its a little older try it on an easy lamped bunny. But get the recall and retreiving in first before worrying about catching.

A bloke who judges quite a few shows once told me that you can cure a ruptured navel in a pup by taping a 50p on it for a fortnight .With inflation ,I suppose it would have to be a £2 piece ,nowadays!
