  1. Penny will be selling signed copies at the Midland Game Fair.
  2. Cards on the table ,I've known Penny Taylor for over twenty years. So it is with some relief that I can honestly give this book a thumbs up! In this her second book, Penny gives a brief outline of her early life, but concentrates on her memorable days out, with the various dogs that have shared her life. She recalls in exciting detail, her successes, and mishaps with lurchers such as Starlight, Lunar, and MIna etc,and little terrier tykes like Midge1,Midge 2 and Sonic. So this is very much a warts and all, honest recap of hunts. Penny is being modest when she talks abou

  5. We have a self appointed expert on all matters nutritional. His word is LAW. ""Dogs cannot digest corn and utilize the protein it contains, so it basically just passes right through the digestive system and you get the privilege of cleaning it up when it comes out the other end." What is that based on? Dogs digest corn almost as well as we do, its certainly not a complete dog food but there is no reason why it cant be a part of it." Corn [maize],is a difficult to digest grain,of , limited value to dogs it is also commonly linked to food allergies . http://www.dogfoodan

  7. Click on Magwitch's posts the little black dog in the pics is from Sooty Sam lines x Gutchcommon Beddie.
  8. I've seen a good few dogs run excellently with ruptured tendons, but obviously it is not ideal. As Gorger said, lazer treatment can be beneficial
  9. I dont think many would be very forward about saying so if they did.
  10. I agree with most of this , but am persuaded by Greyhound Vets such as John Kohnke that electrolytes and, Vitamin E can be beneficial when given at the appropriate times. I have no such confidence in creatine or the person that recommended it in the C.W.
  11. G. L. Put Red to Crow/Lucy,and has just got another litter out of her and Lucas. Crow, is the sister to my pups dam. Funny you should ask about the pup M , he has been picking up a few myxie rabbits, but does not want to give them up he was retrieving ok but running him with the other 3 has put him back, he is very possessive. V J pm'd me and asked how he was doing, the same day he came back lame on his left hind after excercise, I'll give him a few days off. Hope everything is good with you.
  12. Here is Red with his litter mates. He was bred Shearer x Rose, as pictured above at Pontop Kennels. Rose was Cruise x Seagull, [/img] Nice looking litter, did any of the others go on to excel ?
  13. True mate, you should join pigeon watch and post about the running dogs I have never had trouble on Pigeon watch apart from Cookiemonster cunting mine and Inan's dogs. And to be honest they are more sensible than some of the twats that hang around on here...................... He thought I was you to start with
  14. to be fair though, its not hard to get your marching orders from the PW forum.... Bit harder than the Poachers Rest Forum I should think.
  15. mate and all Cookie did was have a bit banter but other members got him booted as they didn't like his views and posts.I've never met him but I know that he has done a fair bit ferreting He was booted off by the moderators, not the general members.
  16. Well certainly not on Pigeon Watch , because you have been banned from there.
  17. Great pics ,and some fine sport just my cup of tea, preferably without the rain.
  18. But when you have" 30,000 acres of permission" it's just a drop in the ocean. I had the pleasure of seeing what I would term a real ferreting dog in action.I refer to Sock's Tegan,It does just what you want a rabbiting companion to do, imo. Holds them in the net till you arrive ,and catches any that slip the nets, like an extra pair of hands, and the positive marking is a bonus too.
  19. People who have seen very good dogs, and whose opinion I trust, tell me he is the "real deal".
  20. Some good blood out of strong dogs there ATB with them.
  21. With tales of 11 month old dogs being bred from , I think it's entirely possible the current popularity of the former rag dog, ie the whippet croos,, will ultimately be to the detriment of the Whippet if anything. surely such idiots breed from all dogs from across all breeds not just the whippet your statement basically says that by the whippet becoming so popular in lurcher lines it will damage the overall respect the whippet has already i dont see it that way their will always be bad pennies breeding dogs but why should one spoil it for the rest who respect their dogs. Time will t
