  1. BSA Essencial 6-24X50 AO Parralex Adjustable Scope on my .17HMR For the .22lr you probably want a 4-16x44 or similar look at a hawke cheers
  2. I have Fox listed on my FAC for .22lr and .17hmr I assume those people killing rabbits and foxes are protecting both animals and crops at the same time? Otherwise the foxes can be useful to lower the rabbit population a bit more. ATB
  3. FAC Air rifle perhaps? Would have a bit more power anyway
  4. No you dont need a Firearm Certificate for an airgun that only produces 12ft/lbs of power or less. ATB
  5. The CZ Silhouette is quite nice i think, maybe better than the style version. You will need a Firearm Certificate though, do you have one? ATB
  6. Very nice find!! Looks like theres some good info there
  7. Here is mine a .17HMR CZ 452 Silhouette 22.5" Rifle With Federal Premium V-Shok 17gr 245ft/lbs 2550fps It has: BSA Essencial 6-24X50 AO Parralex Adjustable Scope Harris Engineering Swivel Base 9-13" Type S Bipod SAK .17HMR Rimfire Sound Moderator Suppressor
  8. BSA essential 6-24x50 oe brought as a scope to get me started but so pleased with it i'm keeping it and will save up for a NV scope (soon i hope) £95 and no problems (touch wood) Same scope on my HMR BSA Essential 6-24x50 Parralex Adjustable £70 delivered with Sportsmatch UK high mounts included (rrp £20) 2nd hand but in new condition from ebay So scope cost me about £45, and it would pass as brand new if you said it was (mint condition) Bargain
  9. BSA Essential 6-24x50 AO Parralex Adjustable Scope Excellent scope The 8-32x56 sounds great btw
  10. How about the Mossberg ATR 100 .308 http://shootersforum.com/showthread.htm?t=40011 http://www.gunweek.com/2005/feature1010.html Does anyone know if these are any good? For only £395 at highland outdoors , they have to be worth a look
  11. I will only be getting a cheap gun anyway for informal target shooting on my land, I wont be taking it that seriously (Budget under £500) I want to do target shooting now, and deer shooting in about 12 months time. If I apply for a .243 and say its just for fox control would it be easier to get than for deer control now? Then I could add deer control to the Fac in 12months, and wont have to buy a new gun. Do I have to do DSC1 to get deer control on my FAC? Or maybe I should get a .223 for fox control / target shooting now. Then apply for a .243/.308 in 12 months time if the .22
  12. I want to buy either a .243 or a .308 for deer stalking and for long range target shooting. How would the .243 perform at target shooting at over 600m ? Compared to the .308? Also is the .308 significantly more difficult to obtain than the .243? Thanks
  13. When you apply for a variation , does the FEO need to visit again? What did you have on your FAC previously and for how long? Anway less than a week is amazing! Have you pinched yourself yet ? lol
  14. So was the question pal, no right minded shooter will tell such a novice how to load a gun that isn\'t his and has no right nor legal access to Ahahahaha :11: :11:
  15. Yeah if the FEO says it ok , then its ok
  16. Have a look at this Topic Basically have a look in your instruction manual for the gun cabinet, and see what it says. Mine says it must be mounted in an upright (vertical) position, otherwise the locking mechanism may not work correctly
  17. Get a BSA 6-24X50 AO with Parralex Adjustment. Very good scope, excellent quality optics, got it for a CZ .17HMR
  18. When you give advice at least try to make it accurate. I highly doubt someone with a criminal record for armed tresspass would be easily granted an FAC at all, let alone for a centerfire on first grant such as a .243 or .308 !!! Also there is no mention of FAC here, he is looking into getting an SGC - A much more realistic ambition !!!! Apply for the SGC mate, all they can do is say no
  19. My .17HMR&.22LR FAC was granted for me on about 30acres of permission on the outskirts of a village with a road running alongside 2 of the fields. However most of it is really quite hilly, as it is in a valley, so there are many safe backstops which is important. How many acres are the 2 fields you currently have permission on? If they are large enough, you should go for the FAC - they can only say no
  20. Thanks for your reply, that information was about the barrel lengths was really useful to know I phoned today, and the CZ I saw was in fact a 16" barrel --> which usually cost more like you say. At £320 I guess this is a good price. The Silhouette i saw in the gunshop had Varmint engraved on the barrel , but the barrel was not a 'heavy' thick barrel. He showed me a CZ Varmint 16" heavy barrel at the same time, and its barrel was much thicker, so i know the differnce . If you could say everything engraved on your barrel that would be some great info, except anything you dont wan
