  4. I managed to get my FAC with .17HM2 on it just after my fifteenth birthday. The best way I found was to get a 'mentor' - someone who already has an FAC and is willing to show you the ropes, so that when you apply, you can say you have some understanding about the rifle and are safety conscious. A mentor can be anyone who owns an FAC, (mine was a mate of my dad). But if there is anyone on any shooting forums (including this one) near your area who are willing to let you use their rifle(s) then that is the best way to get an FAC. It also helps alot if you join a club, this also shows you
  5. Haha , yup the .17HMR is a nice gun
  6. Does anyone know which ones kill the rabbits better? I have noticed using Federal Balistic Tips the rabbit doesnt drop stone dead straight away when i hit them right in the center of the head - possibly due to the large wound it creates and lack of penetration? There is no exit wound either, i suppose this is good as all the energy is impacted, but a through and through in the head might be a better kill? Would the 20gr Full Metal Jacket be better to use ?

Or this Simmons Prohunter 6-24 x 42 AO for £130 http://www.swillingtonshootingsupplies.co....r-6-24-x-42-AO/ I want the best possible quality scope that has at least 18x for rabbit shooting - what can you reccomend thats good value ? Needs to be under £150 , as i dont see any need to spend silly money , as my BSA 6-24X50 is actully doing 85% of what i want allready. ( got it for £45 - usually

  15. Yep it sure is, but the SAK sound moderator is very effective, my one anyway - try it without the moderator on and the shot sounds very loud.

    bipods

you get what you pay for, obviously it wont have the quality of the harris, which are excellent - i imagine it will a bipod but not much more for £25 ATB
  18. what gun is that? and what ft/lbs? ATB
  19. Yeah in sub 12flt/lbs a .177 is still quite accurate the .22 pellet at only 12ft/lbs can suffer a bit ithink ATB

  22. i guess but they only have like 6x zoom unless you want to pay about 2grand lol
  23. What are the prices of these scopes? Why are they better than my BSA Essential 6-24X50 AO? The BSA looks to me like really an excellent scope , even at 24X zoom it is very good I like to see the target close up , so i can try to make a better shot :hmm:
