  1. one i made a wile back (pic before it had a propper roof), i know its quite small bit it only holds 2 ferrets going to add a run soon. I mite change the mesh as i just used plastering mesh is it was what i had about at the time.
  2. are the Arab salukis better do people import them? The salukis I have seen have been so f****d up by the stupid kennel club standards they are useless ( they don’t even look the same as the Arab salukis) . Are there many people with decent non ped salukis, or are some peds good?
  3. well we had the mk1 working with a 3 collar but not a 2 but the mk2 box would not pick up the mk1. we have stocked up on mk1 stuff we got a bargain of 3 collars and a spare box for £30 but if in the future they break its nice to know we still have the option of the mk3 collars even though i find them more hassle taking the batteries out. Don’t suppose anyone wants to buy a mk2 box and collar I cant get on with it?
  4. what difference does it make? i have some silvers they are near enougth lol
  5. how much will it be to enter, will i be able to go to a place with more quarry as there is nothing much around here? Does it matter if my dogs retrieving is not 100% (is it judged on it)? il try get it up to scratch as i can see it pissing the other person off. I don’t expect to win to be honest its my dogs first season, so is it worth me taking part? I know I could have got most of these answers from the original post on the comp but I can’t find it. Thanks all the best
  6. Same here weather has been good for it but no bloody rabbits they were thriving in spring i haven’t seen any signs of mixy but they have al gone and i know my dog is amazing :11: but it defiantly did not have al of them. Even went as far as your territory collie/grey to look for possible permission, but again not many rabbits about there. No rush for the competition still getting my young dogs retrieving up to scratch :11:
  7. mines 16 years old and all the parts are still the same had to get a new reflector for it and the 2nd bulb mount has changed since then but thats about it.

  10. thats bolocks smaller dogs are quicker of the mark and can turn better, bigger dog are not the best at evrything! deer maybe.
  11. my dogs only 19" im living with my parents so cant have big bull crosses shes ok on with rabbits and has atemepted to take down deer but shes not made for the job and she wont tackle a fox but shes only young but as i dont intend to take fox with her i dont mind, thats what my mates dog is for lol if its fox u want to take get a bull cross.
  12. freedome mysti bracken (commen as muck for a lurcher)
  13. so if the bulb is set back more does that make it tighter ? my lamps in my mates truck so dont want to be sat there for hours messing about with it befoure we go lamping and it ends up being worse.
  14. looks like you had a good night wish i could get out more it seems impossible for me to get much permition around here, and i alwase seem to get shot at when i go 4 a poach, lol keep it up!
  15. a lot are bred down greyhounds, but im quite sure a lot have somthing else in them, they were alwase a miner bred dog, and i have been told a dash of terrior has been added.
  16. my old dog went to pieces when we changed from meet to dry complete, when we lived in wales we had a local source of meet and tripe, then when we moved we put him on a compleate working mix, he beacame un-fit starting getting hurniers and all sorts (huge vet bills) so any dogs i have now i feed raw.
  17. i dont have a clue whats in them does anyone have any ideas?
  18. TOMO i do like that little red bitch of yours what breeding is she, whippet grey? looks like you had a good night considering the conditions! all the best
  19. sorry i forgot to say its a non-ped racing whippet bit different to the peds and genraly faster, i think they have terrior blod in them to give them a bit more fight. shes the sister to little bill = Vivs Quest X Simply Red, if that means anything to anyone :11: (if anyone is intereseted in them this is the main forum with them on k9 whippets ) I was thinking of puting a bedlington over her but shes only 19" and quite built so i think the pups might turn out a bit small. first time out on the lamp, going again this fryday if its not to hot for her second propper go ive
  20. this is my little whippet shes only 15 mounths (thats an old pic) but she is showing some good prommis on her first few trips out ferreting and lamping, only thing is at the end of the day after catching them in the hedge she comes back a bit scratched up as she is quite thin skined a beddy cross mite be more suited.
  21. fordenbridge have only been a few times so far, just got her used to the traps, all the best!
  22. im verry happy with her so far would like to race her to but im not sure if she would do both shes had a few solo and practice runs. but this is a hunting forum so i wont blabber to much. i think shed make a good bases for a nice lurcher just got to find the right dog.
  23. for any of you that watch the non-ped racing and were at the bwra you mite have seen little bill race, i have his sister but that does not mean she will be a british champ like her bro, i have not raced her but mite give it a go. but shes a bloody fast little dog and ok on the lamp and ferreting so i would like to keep her blood but i want somthing a little bigger not to much would a grey be a good option and what sizeish would i get, shes 19"?
  24. well your talking from expirience so im not going to argue but ive alwase been told whippets are faster, but just dont have the stamina. is it me or are greyhounds getting bigger and bigger? these modern ones cant go round corners lol
  25. Im no expert on the speed of differant X's mate but IMO it just boils down to what percentage of greyhound you have in your dog and what size it is... anything under 24in isn't going to be as quick as an athletic 27in dog..and if that X takes a lot of saluki and whippet jeans and just a little greyhound it will still be quick but no where near as quick as a dog with a high % of greyhound.. Millet you sure about that non-ped racing whippets are faster than greys over short distances and they tend to be only 19-23", but im not sure if greys have a faster top speed not sure how it works,
