  1. You have done a very good job! if that was me i would have knocked it down and started again i dont have the petience! They will love that, plenty of space.
  2. I think the working stuff is good, its just the show crap they have messed up as working dogs! Im unusal and seem to be the only one running non-ped racing whippets but they are fine on rabbits got the heart to try a fox single handed but i dont let them anymore! its not fair on them! i have never seen a ped run so i cant say much. mine are only 19" and have trouble spotting rabbits in the distance and long grass. sorry for the bad quality old pic she was only 11 mounths here (i no a bit early for her to see big ears)
  3. Aigle for me, had mine for some time now from somone on here on the clasified (they were almost new) the heal is wearing away but they are still going. find the le chemaus a bit flimsy.

    My Dad

sorry to here that mate! lost my dad after xmas, its hard but we get by!
  6. well done mate, i went for a shine last night but nothing they are al out in the day/eveninings but nothing out at night.
  7. i think for now i will just have a lift off slab and see if that makes a difference in temp. i only feed raw in the winter when there are no flys about and i think then i will block it up, as it will be a bugger to get them when i want them out ferreting. i will see how it goes its more of an expetiment than anything if it workes i will make a bigger better one!
  8. you say that is if its a bad thing, good luck with it im sure you will do a better job than me!
  9. It just had to be done! give it a go! it doesent have to look good as long as its reasonable strong its not going to go anywere once its all back filled. but i guess its not a womans job
  10. As a few people on here said it would be a good idea to make a underground nesting box to keep the ferrets from the heat. So not having anything better to do today I gave it a go the idea is to insert a piece of polystyrene in the top to insulate it further from the sun and then place a slab on top. Not sure it will work but its worth a try! as you can see brick work is not my strong point!
  11. Wait a second, the other guy who ended up with one of these pups is doing some detective work to try and find out the farther, think he mite be getting somewhere with it al this shit! And I know for a fact his pup is a little nutter, and it must be a patterdale she was put to! I just don’t understand why anyone would bother not putting a bitch to a good dog in there first place its not as if there is a shortage of good studs.
  12. how do you stop the ferrets nipping the dogs my ferrets chase the dogs they are terrified of them, but you cant exactly tell a ferret off.
  13. Ditch, I looked in to and thought very carefully about putting an underground system in my court but came to the conclusion that it would be impractical and unhygienic and impossible to maintain because it would have to be made out of either clay or plastic pipe and there would be puddles of stale water, uneaten food etc etc. Shame really I think it would be th dogs. i cant see it being to bad mayby if there was a slab/door on top and it was dug out every 6 mounths, for a change of bedding (mayby some old rags) but it would be a lot of work! would have to block it up during the ferre
  14. how do you go about rescuing ferrets? i have plenty of old hutches and places that can be converted for them to live in, will the rspca bring ones that need rehoming to me, if i rung them.
  15. those little sheds get very stuffy, it helps to given them some air by eather having a secoundry mesh door so you can leave the main door open, you could also mesh the window, and i have a pipe leading ouside to a mesh run full of soil for them to dig in, that sort of cools them down i think as they only start digging and lieing on the mud when its hot. but i lost one of my jills in the heat befoure i made these changes.
  16. shame your so far away i mite drop you a pm if im likely to be up that way and fill my freezer, it saves buying chicken or cutting up whole curceses from the hunt.
  17. They love pipes and levels that lead somewhere different but mine never use pipes on the floor. They have been using the wheel al morning, and now they are al back asleep.
  18. has it got the adjusable head and will you post?
  19. only just built it but they love playing in it, but i have a feeling it will wear off and it will get very little use, but who knows.
  20. i have only just made it yesterday they loved it at first, but i dont think it will be something they will use all the time, but i will let you know.
  21. i know this is a bigger shed sectioned off but i did not use any boards and its been fine so far!
  22. seen a few in chippenham wiltshire, but not as many as there was as people are shooting them all, shame really there are none left for the dogs to track
