  3. i used one of the old wooden ones but i have now realised the steel as laminated and does not keep a very good edge in the center of the steel if that makes sence so i think for my next one i will have to find an alternative
  4. well done mate dogs looking good now!
  5. as long as you want can be made to specification, will weigh it in the morning, its quite heavy.
  6. somthing like this... well how much would people be willing to pay? im not trying to rip people of here. im starting to think it mite not be worth the bother.
  7. i was not criticizing i just think it should be open to everyone i wish i could better your attempt but there is just not enough people in this area specially ones that show any interest in lure coursing. for me its just something to do in the summer to keep the dogs fit when i cant work them. if there was any interest in a event i could maybe organize one for the spring/summer
  8. yeh so mite not be worth it then, could mayby do them for £20 if i can find the heads cheeper
  9. i found him very trustworthy i sent cash for some nets and had them in no time!
  10. how do you rivit them onto a stronger collar does anyone have a picture i have a broken strap on one of mine, i take it you cant just drill into the plastic?
  11. would any of you be interested in a decent well weighted digging spade my plan was to get the ex millatry or simular spades with the wooden handles for £10-20 and weld a heavy steel tube with a T bar on the top and spray them up to stop them rusting. il put some pics up later if anyone is interested does £30 seem like a good price inc p&p? let me know if you mite be interested and i will start getting some made up

  14. Blando,.... The 'Hard Blood',.non-pedigree racers are not permitted to run against the KC Racers,..End of story. The reason is,..the KC registered whippeteers made it a ruling several years ago that they would not get involved with the non-peds,.because,..the jukes,..like your own red runner,...have a fair proportion of greyhound blood in their background. They are invariably longer in the back and often more heavily muscled and some even exhibit the traits of the staffy ancestory..I used to see a few with bushy tails and a broken coat!! Nowadays the non-ped is a refined type of specialist
  15. I only educate those that can learn. clearly you have nothing to say now! wippets started from the miners racing them, and this still goes on! but your silly pedagre bunch are from the same lines, with all the good bits bred out of them! so at the end of the day all your dogs are just like driving a brand new range rover around "look every body look how much money i have got"!!!!! but they are slower stupider and now where near as hard wearing , so whats the point in having them. please educate me otherwise
  16. so why are there not more compitions for lurchers/nonpeds wouldent it make more sence to race faster dogs, not only that but they are less overerpriced but yet faster! it does not make sence? please explain peds to me then, how i see it is a bunch of wankers trying to bring back and keep the old breeds based on no evidence and making up there own standards.
  17. i dont understand why a dog with greyhound blood would be much better as long as there are set weight classes whats the point in finding the best ped those stupid KC standards are just a load of crap anyway! it should be the top dog for its weiht class shurly!? the only reason i think you are doing this is because you are quite sure you can win. but why not make it a bit more interesting and say any dog can enter?
  18. i quite like my 95k, not a bad little gun and a bit lighter than the
  19. you have to remember its 10 times hotter there, most people dont even run there dogs when its a hot night never mind in desert temps.
  20. had a supposid nofolk type from a breeder in wales up untill a few years ago was a demon on fox and rabbits never saw any hare or dear were we were in Pembrokeshire but im sure dear would not have been a problem
  21. blando

    biting

they were fine when josh sold them to you, they were handled loads very quiet ferrets!
  22. i got mine from a fabricator, if you are really stuck for one i can post you one if you just pay the postage wont cost to much im sure.
  23. best off with a mig spool, youl have to make a buch up to make it fit. just had a go with it again its really starting to get the dogs into shape, specially my red fawn bitch. the only thing is they have started to fight when they are running its bloody annoying!!!! crap video its impossible to film it and use the lure at the same time
  24. i dont know if you will get the speed i know if you run power tools from them things you get very little speed out of them. to be honest once you get used to controlling it a simple on/off switch is all you need. A starter motor is your best bet, its plenty fast enougth i dont think any dog would catch up with it, the spool does not need to be very big either, im going to downsize mine.
  25. flipsake blando lad,, i never thought of that!! sounds like a good idea to me :thumbs-up: .. my bitch stalks them which is very annoyin... i wonder would a lure make a difference to stalking them too?? i dont know mate but my dog just runs up 2 it and waits for it to move now, then as soon as it does shes off, going to go out on the bunnies tonight to see if its made any difference
