Just been searching in the archives for this clip as its 100% been on here before! the first time it was on their was alot of people slatting it as "Poor Shooting" includeing myself. I havn't watched the clip over again but the last time I remember seeing it the guy was shooting Parent Rooks off the nest aswel as squabs which are about as sporting as me zeroing a Barn door at 30yds. if I'm wrong and this is a different Video then I apoligise, Hopefully someone can find the original topic put up some months ago . have to say I enjoy a good sporting shot and will also take on a easy sho

How refreshing to see a lad showing some respect for people who have helped him out . Big Up Steve , not many lads who can show Gratitude like you these days.. Take Care Jasp

I have to say PSM this Air Ranger shoots nice when its in its "sweetspot" but until its hits there it can be a bit inconsistant, I'm toying with the idea of having on of the Tench Regulators fitted or fit one myself to iron out any power curves but I'm yet to make my mind up. the other thing I could moan about with the gun is its bloody weight, its weighing around 10.5Lbs kitted out and a fair lump to shoot freehand regular! expecially when shooting the tree rats on the move which mean I'm forever shouldering the gun before I can get a clean shot. a lad I knew a few years back had a MK

Nowt wrong with a good sensible arguement or disagreement to clear the air or just frankly state a opinion, life would be one boring place if we all agreed but from time to time a olive branch wouldn't go a miss expecially when things get nasty. It takes a big man to admit they're wrong and a even bigger one to come clean and apoligise if he is out of order. its just a shame to see some good threads get spoilt and blown clean off track from the original title! I have lost count in the past how many good threads I have cleaned up just to keep them running before someone asks for or it ends

A pal on the forum has a S410 and is lethal with the bloody thing! he topped me up with Pigeons the year before last which a Majority of them fell to the Air Arms! Plus it's in that poofy .177 calibre ... Jasp

Cracking Rifle Mickey . Must admit the R10 was very high on my agenda and still is if I replace this gun, after what I have read and seen they're a lovely all round tool! one of the Air Rifle greats Jasp

I had a .177 Tomahawk in 2001 and must say I enjoyed the rifle. it was the first of the earley one with the long stroke and very tuneable. I mated it up with a Tasco Mildot and it did the business but as I remember I was shocked how far the windage on the scope needed adjusting to find zero, it nearly took up all its travel. at that time a pal had a Air Arms Pro Elite also in .177 and no doubt about it the Tomahawk kept up with it no problem . Must say I have never had a problem with my Ranger eating 0 rings, its been a good stable rifle and very well made, like all these unregulated guns it has a sweetspot but when you're in it its 100% Pellet on Pellet. Mine is in .177 and acounted for a good few head seen I owned it, I certainly could have done alot better but don't get out as much as some of the hardcore lads on the here. all I can say is if I was going to buy another Daystate it would be another Air Ranger! I'm not into all these fandango electric triggers and other electronics fitted in the wolf, I Ranger has a lovely swee

A pal had a Air Arms ProSport some years ago which was a wonderful gun, Unfortunatly I couldn't shoot it very well due to being a lefty but what a lovely gun. another one which Air Arms have now stopped making was the Pro Elite <Break Barrel>! another pal had one of these which was very tuneable and a Monster of a Air Rifle, one of these is like Rocking horse shit now I think ... Got myself one of these beginning of the year! takes alot of practice but when you get it right its sounds like the real thing! if you watch the demo in this vid clip you will hear about 3/4's the way though he has got it sounding perfect Jasp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCx7XGkuLfk

spot on Si cheers for the info Must admit I fancy like having a pop myself if he makes them for a Daystate Air Ranger! mind you £120 or perhaps a little more wouldn't be that bad. where is the guy based Si? just a rough idea of what county will do mate or if he has a Number you could PM it to me if its ok . If I can get this gun running more consistant from a full charge to top up I will be made up, at the moment I have lost a bit of interest in the bloody thing. atb Jasp

Hello Zini cracking footage and explantion . I have done alot of reading about the Tench Regs and it seems to me this is the way to go for me too. my gun has a sweetspot at around 150BAR even though the working pressure is alot higher! I'm now only charging the gun upto 150BAR which is annoying when I know the gun is more than capable of alot more shots. The gun would average around 250 .177 but at the moment with the 150BAR charge I'm down to around 85. just out of Interest do you have to send the gun direct to the guy Tench to have it regd? also I see you mentioned Youngmans which is

H&N Silhouette Vs Field Target Trophy
jasper65 replied to jasper65's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Nice one Mush . the FTT's seem the best so far in this gun but I'm open to try anything that might make a improvement, I'm also fooked off with only getting the best out of the gun on 150BAR when the gun's working pressure is much higher! Its sweetspot is 150BAR anything above this gives me a few flyers. I'm 100% up for one of them Tench Regulators provideing I have some money left after Christmas . Jasp -
H&N Silhouette Vs Field Target Trophy
jasper65 replied to jasper65's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Many thanks guys . this gun seems to get on ok with the FTT's yet all the obviouse choices that suit other Daystates such as AA's, Selects, and a few others all seem for some reason to throw a fair amount of flyers . the FTT's seem the most stable out of them all! I know they're slightly heavier than the other pellets mentioned which could have somthing to do with it. I'm always willing to try a different pellet in the hope I find the perfect combination atb Jasp -
It would be good to see the Hammers put in a decent run now and lift them up the table . if they move to the Olympic stadium it could well stir up a few other London clubs! Tottenham being one of them, then again if they have the finances to do it best of luck to them ...

The Christmas Hare - A seasonal hawking tale
jasper65 replied to martin hollinshead's topic in Falconry
Hello Martin I still keep in contact with him and some summers he will come over a stay with us for a few days, he packed up breeding early 2000's but still likes to get out with people and their birds now and again. He was probably the last Falconer I realy got out flying regulary with on most days, since he moved away I havn't come across anyone close by to fly with regular! consiquently I don't get as often myself these days but get out on my own and enjoy the odd day out with pals who come down to fly. I should say Belen was pretty much on the top of her game early 's? I heard -
:welcomeani: to the forum when I started the only the only information available to me was books from the Library! and also finally coming into contact with other falconers which was thin on the ground back then, many of these books I would read to cover to cover, put them down! and read them all over again gleaning as much info as possible. these days there is a good few clubs to join and a whole lot more people practicing the sport, like any sport be careful with some advice as not all is beneficial and probably more detrimental. getting out with a good falconer on top of his game o

whatever we say the guy was a tremendouse talent when he hit the scene under the guidence of Cus De Mato. he was fast and hit hard with both hands switching punches quicker than most Heavyweights could dream of, seems like his whole life took a turn for the worse after the death of his mentor which was a sad shame. I can't say anything bad about the guy as I loved watching him fight! also Can't say another headyweight since then has given me a buzz quite like Tyson. This finish on Pinklon Thomas was ruthless to say the least. Tyson Vs Thomas KO

Spot on Gary/Darryl Thats what I call Hard Core Hunting , I'm far too much of a pussy to brave the elements like that these days! Looks like a cold un to say the least. Just out of interest was there much about in them conditions? looks like a total white out. atb Jasp
