  1. with you on this one Gnash! if I want to talk to somone I pick up the blower or email them, my kids go on it although I'm no keen on it. took a look on my Daughters account and found up some people I was at school with! the talk was nearly all school reunions , f**k me you would think by the time they was in their 40's they would have moved on a bit...
  2. alot of scientists are saying this is normal! Can't say I have heard of it on this scale before ... Birds Dropping Out Of Sky
  3. Just a quick couple of me and the missus taken a while back....
  4. try this stuff ...... Click link
  5. the bloody things come in all the time Si for a Bundle when I'm flying a Hawk ! its annoying but doesn't seem to bother the Hawk too much. it shocks me in the heat of the moment quite how tame the otherwise spooky crows get when in combat with the hawk, I can stand well in the open and they'll still come right in and land momentarly in the trees the hawk is sitting in. during May, June and july time they're get pretty foisty when a Hawk is in the area and soon start to duel with the bird, definitley some good sport to be had. atb Jasp
  6. One of the best days corvid bashing I ever had was when I had a Redtail Hawk out on his Bow with a nice fresh Rabbit to keep him busy. we set up a small hide and in they came for a bundle with my old Hawk! he really couldn't give a arse while he was on his Rabbit but it wasn't long before they started landing in the trees near us shouting down at my poor old Hawk. Can't remember exactly how many we got as it was in the late 's but definitely in the high 20 - 30's. Jasp
  7. Been out of fishing for a good few years exept on the odd occasion. I picked up my late brothers fishing tackle a few months ago and must admit I'm now looking forward to getting out freshwater fishing again. Looking in his old Fishing Basket was like looking back in time with a few Mitchell Reels Includeing a Match with the Auto bale arm all in good fettle. anyway just had this site fired over to me by a pal! some cracking looking hand made floats . Jasper Handmade Floats
  8. Looks spot on Mark I would expect you to get a few in there this spring/summer... Jasp
  9. one of the first things that get hit when a Rabbit has Mixxy is its Kidneys! external lessions show up quickly after. spoke to a vet a good while back after the kids two pet Rabbits got it! he mentioned to me if the Kidneys have a good colour to them its ok, if they are dark to near black its a sign of early infection. You can eat Mixxy Rabbits anyhow! I've had mixxy for years. they won't harm us plus they have better Gamey taste! take the head and skin it and use it as stock ... Jasp
  10. You dirty Milf JD! you can't keep your hands off a pair of breats ... Good shooting Jasp
  11. Yep watched them too Andy! used to like to read his section in the old Airgun Worlds. the slow motion showing the swing of the pellet in flight was pretty good! some lucky birds there which was narrowly missed .......
  12. Cracking footage showing the flight of the pellet and striking its quarry! not a bad gun either even though its in .22 ... atb Jasp
  13. All the best with the new Venture Anthony Cracking website too by the way! I'll have to invest in one of them Ferret box's soon me thinks atb Jasp
  14. I'm useing one of them "Dr Bob" bottle clamps Darryl instead of useing a stock fitted sling stud. the Dr Bob seems to be doing its job ok but I wasn't happy with the way the Bipod connected to it! its a small clamp with a pin either side that clamps either side of the "Dr Bob" stud hole, hopefully this will be fine but it does look a bit flimsy. atb Jasp cheers Base Jumper must admit the stock is quite nice but I have had some ups and downs with the gun in the past, did you manage to get hold of a full length shroud? it definitly brought this gun back to how it should be .
  15. spot on Tom this is the same worries I have been having here! I'm thinking of removing the bolt and taking it down so it sits further in away from the sling attachment, still a bit worried also how strong it is with the weight of the gun on the sling when being carried , It would certainly do alot of damage if it slipped and the Gun dropped.... cheers Jasp
  16. Its a funny one Si! no doubt about it the .22 carries more shocking power but I think with both rifles running near on 12ft/lbs the .177 certainly seems to carry more penetration flesh wise... I remember a good few years back late 70's I had a MK1 Webley Vulcan brought beleive it or not back then out of my mothers catalogue , this rifle was in .22 and quoted in a old Airgun World producing around 600 - 610FPS with Eley wasps. I knocked much quarry over with this gun before decideing to purchase a .177 Barrel for about £15 back then! off came the old barrel and on went the .177 the gun was
  17. Nice one Wurz cheers pal the one thing that was worrying me is the sling coming away while I was carrying the gun! can just imagine the sling breaking loose and the gun swinging down and hitting the deck . I stuck the "Dr Bob" clamp round the bottle and clamped the Bipod onto that, hopefully all will stay ok and hold up to me clambering about with the gun on my shoulder, if not it might be safer to stick a stud in the forend of the stock for the sling .... atb Jasp
  18. Bipod arrived today from Hong Kong and seem pretty good for the price! put it this way it will do the job it was intended . Just a few pictures showing the Bipod on the gun and also showing where I have fitted the sling under the Bipod! hopefully all of it is fitted ok but I must admit it seems a bit flimsy to hold a 10lb + gun? or am I just being paranoid? the other thing is the sling catches on is the knurled bolt that tightens the Bipod to the gun! when the gun is over my shoulder the sling pulls up against it, probably do with shortening the bolt a little.. Hopefully the pictures w
  19. Sharp Knife Tin Of pellets Spare Mag. All goes in my Pockets, quarry goes in game pocket at the back. never take a bag unless I'm decoying or Roost shooting with the Shotty ....
  20. Glad we won but think it could have been a bit more convincing! the lads Carrick and Darren Fletcher was pretty poor and never look like first team players, think Fergie could have picked a slightly better line up. Always supported MUFC since a lad at school but have to say on days like today they can be pretty frustrating. looking back at some of the old Man U teams they would have put the game out of 10 man liverpools reach well before the final whistle, we seem to lack any Inspiration players these days like a "Cantona" or "Ronaldo" .....
  21. owned my 52 Plate D22 Navara twincab for about 4 years now and never missed a beat. now coming round to 106,000mls and runs as sweet as when I first picked it up and don't burn a drop of oil, probably gives better fuel figures too than the Toyota and Mitsubishi....
  22. Good shooting lads! No Messing ! looks a cracking place to hide out in... Jasper
  23. Might be worth contacting these guys Pops! they should be able to put you intouch with someone in your area or aprentiship scheme .. NAFA
  24. Nice shooting JD . there's alot roost in a patch of Hawthorn on some common land near here, watched them leaving their roost early in the mornings while walking the dogs exploding in the air like burnt bits of paper. unfortunately its a no go from a shooting point of view ......
  25. Cracking posts guys but I'm in total agreement with Matt on this one If I crank my scope up to say X10 mag at 40 - 50yds it brings the target virtualy into the whole lens area, I then lose all that field of view with just the one object taking up my full focus. for some people that may not be a problem but I don't need to be able to count the feathers or eyelashes on my quarry, if I have a clear view for a vital headshot at say 40 - 50 yds which I have with X4 I'm happy! its also nice to gather all that extra light from the extra field of view on a lower Mag. I'm also in agreement tha
