  1. Been looking at alot of scopes lately with different Mag ranging from nice and low to some hitting x20 . I remember the first scopes we had a good few years ago they peaked at x4 usually by 40mm! I then went to a low powered Tasco scope which was 2.75x40 and even lower with another which was a variable 1.5-5x40 all these was plenty for me expecially in low light conditions where they was a big advantage. the scope I have now will go down to X3 and seldom turned up near X12 unless I want to view a POI on a taget! even then X12 certainly isn't needed, nearly all my shooting with this Air
  2. Nice write up some nice guns on show there... Jasper
  3. cracking pictures Tinman . seems like they're becoming more Urban these days. the wife put out a couple of bird feeding stations which bring in all sorts from Nuthatches and just lately some Bramblings. the problem is its like a Sparrowhawk resturant . we put the food out to help the birds this time of the year and the Spars have tagged onto a easy meal and now visit regular. Don't get me wrong I like Sparrowhawks but they hammer the birds in our garden. atb Jasp
  4. Don't think you read through what I put in the last post! OK you have eliminated the shroud being shortend and also silencer clipping so like you said it could well be down to the Pellet choice. I mentioned before I shot through virtually every viable recommended pellet through My .177 Air Ranger and came up with H&N Field Target Trophy 8.66 Grain Pellets. its entirely up to you if you try them but personaly I would give them a go if you're getting the problems you say you are......
  5. Had the same with my Air Ranger in .177 being pellet fussy, also found it would change is point of impact even though I would leave it zeroed the day before . anyhow trust me Buddy I blasted my way through many different brands of pellets some of which was highly recommended for the Ranger! my final verdict for connsistant grouping was the H&N Field Target Trophy 8.66 Grain Pellets . I don't use anything else mate now! they hit the zone I want them too which is good enough for me. I also sorted out the POI problems, this gun had the Shroud cut down and which has now been dealt with
  6. Love five mins with the scumbag low lifes that did this . Not a nice thing to read on new years day I know! but these cruel scumbags need catching up with.... Lurchers Hung From Bridge
  7. No messing Wurz! cracking shooting pal you should Pattern that sling mate! looks better than these fandango Cammo one's that cost a arm and a leg! Mind you baling twine takes some beating . all the best for the new year Jasp
  8. Cheer all for the replies . the gun shot pretty good before but is now much more consistant! it seems to have steadied down since the genuine Shroud was fitted. when the gun came to me it was fitted with a MK4 carbinised shroud which was also a smaller diameter than the genuine Air Ranger shroud! somthing was definitly a miss as the gun needed re zeroing by a long way after this genuine shroud was fitted, I also noticed in the past the gun shot a good way out when the silencer was removed! probably clipping. anyway! have a good new year all . I know this fella won't be seeing the new year
  9. Welcome to the forum LJ ! sounds like you have some good tutors to help you out! having said that it doesn't seem like you need it .. atb Jasp
  10. a top genuine guy off the Daystate owners club sorted me out a full length shroud complete with Baffles he designed himself. All arrived this morning so I set about fitting it and re-zeroeing the gun before finally taking a wander through the woods. I must admit the new Baffles are extremly quiet without the silencer fitted which now makes me think about doing without the Airstream Mod completly, I'm shocked how quiet this system has made the gun. with the gun zeroed and the weather pretty foggy I walked into the woods where the Pigeons generaly come into the Ivy to feed! it wasn't long be
  11. Love the Kangaroo scrotum mate! would make a cracking pellet pouch . the Wife got a scrotum for xmas too! hanging down her chin ... Cheers jasp

  14. Cheers for the help lads . It only seemed to do it the once! I did the blanket trick as advised on here and job done . the only bummer is last summer I repaired a water leak in the wifes Puma and like a nob only put a litre of Antifreeze in . the water in the hoses was frozen solid as was the resovoir! thankfully I checked under the bonnet before fireing it or it could of been costly, I then read that if water is frozen in the block it can crack the block? all defrosted now and topped up with 3 Litres of Antifreeze....
  15. Heard he was off to the blue side of Manchester? . Can't see Man U wanting him! they've got better strikers than him already who Can't get in the first team .
  16. Virtualy on my doorstep! I can see us having a wander even though its a hectic time of the year for us ......

  19. Fooking pond life mate . I'm sure you'll catch up with him sometime shay to dish out some payback . the thing is the damage is done now which makes it hard to deal with! been there before but not with guns, it makes you feel dubiouse about everyone when somthing like this happens , the good thing is for every 1 Scumbag there 10 decent lads! Unfortunatley you have just found the 1 . atb Jasp By the way it probably don't mean much now but have a good one pal tomorrow
  20. Bit of a nightmare here this time of the year Hilost! we live right in the middle of the sticks where its pretty wide open with fields and trees surrounding the house, the truck gets left open to all the elements as we have no Garage either! its a total white out here at the moment, I'll have to think of somthing to Insulate it through the night .
  21. Spot on lads for the info drained about a pint of Petrol out of the lawnmower and fired into the tank, also got the heat gun out of the shed and heated the fuel lines while the battery was charging. finally turned it over and it fired virtualy second turn . Need to sort somthing out here as its at least -14 where the truck is parked! I can stick a blanket over the engine but does the main tank need to be insulated somhow from the cold?. The truck just had neat Diesel in the tank at the time. Cheers Jasper
  22. Went out this morning to start up the Navara but it won't fire. the last time the truck was started was Friday so it has been sitting for a couple of days but never had a problem before. for the last 2-3 evening its hit - 14 and less in the area! is this enough to cause fuel problems like perhaps Waxing? to top it off I have now flattend the Fooking battery turning it over . cheers Jasp
  23. Nice to see the Kessy Gary! what a bonus they seem to be having a hard time of it in this weather at the moment, not seen any around here for a while now. It was recorded yesterday here in Norwich - 14 atb Jasp
  24. Must admit I could reel a few off with the Shotty and rifle now and a few years back but one of the most memoral that springs to mind was a house sparrow with my Gat Gun when I was about 12-13, I aimed well above it and the pellet clocked it straight in the swede the length of my parents garden! probably about 40 yds , I walked over to the Sparrow which was just stunned and a bit knocked out, within a few minutes it flew off back in the trees.. with the shotty took a Left and Right Hare a good few times on Hare shoots plus a good few left and right high Pigeons roost shooting and decoyin
  25. Top marks Davey and the other lads for the info and many thanks . I must admit I never knew Bipods came in so many lengths shapes and sizes! can't wait now for mine to arrive so I can have a play . atb Jasp this is a handy peice of kit Millsy! its called a "Dr Bob" and clamps round the bottle which you can secure your Bipod, sling or whatever too, The only resevation I have had is if its adding strain onto the bottle with the added weight and perhaps a sling attached too? Jasp
