Surley stamina has nothing to do with size . a sparrowhawk can chase until the bitter end over some seriouse distances, we're talking about a bird averageing 10oz's tops here but they keep going when they need too! I'm pretty sure a German male Gos in any sort of condition is more than capable of the same feat should it be needed?.... whats your own view on the subject?

Hello John No mate don't get me wrong I would feel the same! I can't be a hypocrite as I said many times I like "Big Lads and Small Girls" when taking up a Hawk/Falcon.... The small Male "Del" above although probably one of the most gamey hawks I have owned did struggle with the Cock birds and Large Bunnies which is why I passed him on, having said that Patience is something I lack in these days! I just generaly got fed up with him loseing quarry, perhaps in his second year if I made the effort and when he had gained a bit of footing experience things could have been slightly different

was he on your flying land Mik? if he was he was taking the piss and due for a slap mate! it kills me how many Hooray Henry's take up the sport now since the Hunting ban! mind you there was a fair few in the game well before then.... these days you can't go anywhere without somone pissing you off! last time I saw Tim was at the end of season Dinner dinner for the 2006 season! we had a chat over dinner mainly about breeding aswel as Gary Almeida but I get the impresion they are on the small side, he flew a male a few seasons ago at a meet at Elevedon Hall but by all accounts the weather was a bit crap mate so nowt much was caught.... Another lad at the dinner Giles Morris fly a small Finnsh Imprint male bred by Mat K which has done fairly well over the seasons its been flown, don't quote me on this but I'm sure its flying well under the 1lb 10 mark but provideing plenty of good sport

Spray it with Virkon mate to kill and nasty stuff that might be on there! let it dry out and then grease or neats foot oil the glove.. this was a old Jess Grease recipe I still use now that might do the trick: 1oz of Beeswax 2 1/2 oz's of white Clear Candle Wax 3 oz's of Liquid Parafin 2oz's of Neats Foot Oil shove it all in a pan until melted stirring until all is disolved and melted, stick in a jar or something and leave to cool until its set, if for some reason its still to thick/Hard it will need to be melted again with more Neats foot oil added... Not so much of a prank but it still kills me how thick a few of us was at school . This one still kills me when I think back... It was a morning break or should I say <Playtime> and a few of us would meet up for a Fag in the toilets at the bottom end of the school, this particular day the toilets had just been re-opened after previousley being re-painted! so the usual crew gathered in there having a Fag and decided to scratch their names on the new recently painted walls... Thats a kind off for somone off the forum miles . we have stacks of them around this way too! a few miles down the road from here <Bircham Newton> they shoot 4's and 500's in a couple of days on the Hare shoots.... Jasper

Feet and legs is a massive give away! Broadness of the head and mandible is another. 99.9% of Harris's are fitted with a W - Ring weather they are male or female which is silly really as their legs are no thicker than Gos yet with the Gos's its a standard V - Ring for the males and a W - Ring for the female... I can now 99% sex my Harris chicks at 3 - 4 days or sometimes less, when you breed a few you get to recognise the obviouse things which stand out, its not rocket science but I suppose practice makes perfect when you've done a few .... the way the W - Ring sits on that birds leg s

Nice one Dogs and Natives It seems they're lost everywhere lately! there was stories a couple of years back of a pair breeding in this country but was shot out...
