    Hare hawking !!

Just a quick one of a pals Finn female straight after taking a hare near by, for a fairly big girl she made heavy weather of it but job done.... jasper
  2. My lad at 7 flying a P/R 3/4 German x 1/4 Finnish male, He's now into his Xbox and probably sick of them and who can blame him!! the lad was ruled by them to keep out of the Garden, not to play football and do all the things he wanted to do in the garden as a kid when the birds was breeding....... I also kept back a male Harris for him 3 years ago which was flown for a while but he lost interest. Jasper
  3. Gennuine top man who tells it as it is, if the truth needs telling you'll get it off this guy.....

  4. The Emma Ford book is a nice read mate and a nice tool to go through the basics . There's some lovely old books you can pick up from the Libary or sometimes pop up on Ebay, The Art And Practice Of Hawking - E B Michelle is classic in its own right and one I spent many hours as a lad reading under the bed covers with a torch, Observation On Modern Falconry - R Stevens and A Hawk For The Bush - Jack Mavrogordato are all classics too... This is only my opinion but alot of books will contradict each other with different methods which can be confuseing to anyone new to the game, find some b
  5. Aye . so what planet did you register in from at the same time as CJT . my names Hunt not c**t...
  6. Strange one that as all quarry react differently when caught! I've seen some hares roll over with a white flag and others put up a decent fight, obviousely its down to the individual birds technique too? I've seen in the past a German Female stop a Hare clean in its tracks without hardley exerting itself and yet seen a large finnish bird make a meal of it.... Its not rocket science to take Hares but more on weather the bird want them and are conditioned to take them and not just fly them, Basically flying them with a decent slip with a conditioned Gos is a rat hunt without the bird coming
  7. that sites got to be one to join just for the wind up, It would bring the house down with a couple of pic's of some snared or Hollowpointed Bunnies on their boards ...... Just jesting but you have to laugh reading this sort of crap, Nothing queer as folk..... Jasper
  8. You're right mate! I wonder how long they had them guns up in their shoulders before a Bunny Bolted . in another clip one of them obviousley got arm ache and had the gun pointing at the floor ... I was surprised that none was taught on the clays to stand in the ready position with gun dropped out of shoulder before shouting PULL... the guy in the cammo jacket was a embarrasment to male species .... Jasper
  9. I can't beleive they was taught to mount the guns waving them about well before the Rabbits bolted . and what was that Blonde thing doing on a show like that ..... Jasper

    feed

I had a bash with japanese quail Jas which was hard work! hatching them off in the Incubator wasn't the problems but all the after carre rearing them for 6 weeks was the pain, when they hatch they're like Bumble Bees on stilts and prones to drowning themselves in the smallest amount of water, I ended up useing gravel stones in the water which did the job.... Jasper
  12. No mate but it took a turn for the worse today and cut out everytime I tried to open up the throttle, I managed to get about 1/2 mile down the road with it spluttering and looked in the mirror to see a cloud of smike behind me.... One thing that did bother me was the Malfunction light kept coming on..... Jasper
  13. driveing the Nav today and got 3 - 4 miles down the road and it started to miss fire! If I eased up on the acceraltor it was ok again but as soon as I put my foot down it held back as if it wanted to cut out?.... My first thought was to change the Fuel Filter! I picked one up from the local town center went to fit it and realised that this filter needs a plastic drain plug, the one already fitted on the motor for some reason hasn't got one.. it seems the one fitted on the car is the wrong one..... If anyone knows anywhere or any Breakers where I can get a replacement Fuel filter drain

  15. The wife pointed out to me that each time she turns off the Ignition the clock changes? for some reason it alters it back to 1:00pm each time . I just checked it over and its also doing it on the trip metre and setting it back to zero's. I checked out the fuses and all seems to be ok but does anyone know if there are any other fuses hidden? it seems like its lost the Permenant live to back the memory up but I have no idea . any advice would be much apreciated ............ By the way its a D22, 2002 Plate. ATB Jasper

  17. I can't say I read that anywhere ..... You wouldn't get 2oz's off a Harrishawk or any other Hawk in 24hrs even when its fasting , reading through the posts the guy has done well with his bird and making a grand job...... Jasper

    parrot

I would get him/her up the vets trace! Blood tests or a skin scrape might well show up something or it could well be stress or Boredom or even diet, don't get me wrong I'm not saying his diest is bad or he doesn't get enough attention but perhaps he/she wants some from the opposite sex , or just a conversation with another parrot might do the trick .... I have a few birds here not psittacines like your parrot but they still do the funniest of things when bored, I had one Pinch its feathers during the moult and shred them, another would mock attack perches in the aviary and wound its own fe
