  1. It would be Interesting if some of the daft laws that have taken effect was posted just to remind of us of the crap we have had to put up with since they have been in power, obviousley one of the worst was The Fox Hunting Ban ..... just another silly law below now coming into legislation ... 2. Karl Marx nailed it in that one Bolio . this Government has conned us for years from when Blair was in power and brown was chancellor, the only difference is the pillock who was once the chancellor selling us down the swany river is now Prime Minister . Some people seem to forget what a mess his Government has made of this country, I read quote in one of the papers that Mr Brown "will get us out of the mess", FFS when will they come to their senses and realise it was them who got us into it in the first place .... Its not just the fact they have taken us all into recession! its the way
  3. 08 P/R Pure Peregrine, Home bred and Hatched (12/05/2008), the Bird was taken up and fed on the fist for a short while but due to personal reasons has now since been in a aviary, She's pretty wild as expected and taken a few tips off her primaries and tail feathers! apart from that she is a good size bird from good pure Peregrine blood lines, her last weight was recorded at a tad under 2lb 8oz's hooded and a pair of jesses, by any means she wasn't over fat at this weight.... The bird was originaly reared for Rooks/Crows for my own flying bird, but other circumstances put a end to this! I t

    New Bird

Wow Graham don't start me off on Prairies! I have a seriouse fetish with them ... He looks outstanding! he's certainly retained the good looks of the prairie with the large eye and wedged head, no doubt he'll also have the fire of one too . All the Prairie Hybrids I have handled have had aggresion with a capital A during the beggining of the manning period but steadied up lovely in the end, two of them was outstanding which much like your's retained alot of prairie genes but the third one which seemed to carry far more peregrine wasn't quite upto the other two's standard aggresion wise....
  5. My thoughts exactly! the Guy actually said its only about 3 inches of water so I can't see a problem there. we can't can't always predict when a Hawk is going to crash into water to secure their quarry! when they're on the wing its in the lap of the Gods. It certainly wouldn't stop me slipping a bird at Ducks getting off a Pond or River bank! I'm sure there's far more fatalities on power lines and other obstacles...... Jasper

    BUMBLE FOOT

sometimes Bumblefoot can be long winded and a b*****d to clear up! stick with the right treatment until you see a marked improvment and I'm sure things will finally clear up.... Jasper
  8. I wouldn't want to say that mate to be honest without knowing more and not seeing the bird, it could be alot of other reasons like confidence or he's just not over commiting himself on them as yet. I'm sure when he has had a few he might go for the odd swim .... Perhaps he just can't swim and some armbands might help just kidding mate.... Jasper
  9. A snorkel and trunks but do the trick mate . I'm sure when he really wants them bad enough he'll plop in to secure them........ Jasper

    BUMBLE FOOT

I spent a small fortune in the earley 90's with a vet trying to clear up Bumblefoot in a tiercel peregrine. he took a swab from its foot and cultured it and decided the Drug of choice was Baytril, the bird was then operated on to remove some of the absess and litteraly put on Baytril on and off for near on 4 months and over.... After a £600 bill and still on the Baytril the vet said to me "Have you considered euthanasia"? I told him he must be having a laugh and took him to another vet for a second opinion, this vet worked in conjunction with Neil Forbes and another culture was taken, it
  11. I try to get my birds under a Brood Lamp within a few hours of drying out. they stay in the Hatcher until this time unless one is a bit poorly and then moved under lamps, the other method I use is a couple of 60w Red bulbs screwed with the holders screwed onto a a peice of board/wood fitted with a dimmer switch on the top, the chicks are placed in one of them plastic stacker Box's and the lights placed on the top, if they get to hot you can turn them down with the dimmer! too cold and you turn it up again, I'll try and get a rough picture of the one I made up! its nothing special by any means
  12. I had a pair of these on a Peregrine blocked in the weathering a couple of years back! they wasn't the best quality I must admit and in time she did start to pull and pluck them. having said that a guy off the forum showed me a pair a couple pf weeks back and they looked very nice quality! I think he has used these on his Goshawk for a good while now without a problem but I would still like to see the acid test under the conditions when a bird expecially a Falcon when first jessed has a good pull and tear at them.... Its a great idea and I can't see them rotting like Leather! but then agai

I couldn't get in it for weeks until I found out what them funny buttons was on the key .... if I select 4WD while waiting to reverse into my drive it locks the Diff up on one side as I swing in! its a pain when the road would be dry and my driveway was covered in snow, dropping it into 4wd without having to stop has solved the diff wind up problem....
