I'll get off my arse soon and get the other shooting permition updated with another landowner for the next time, that should open up a few more acres to Mooch around . Great company lads and a good crack! I'll see you and Moll over the summer Millet .... There must be a easier way of skinning and jointing these deer? its just took me best part of 3 hours to do these two ATB Jasper

    few pics

Retails are Lovely birds :clapper:. Its good of you to put some pic's up of him, there's a few people who get them and generaly just f**k about with them and never get them flying at their potential, it would be nice to hear of someone getting out and doing it with a redtail through next season cheers Jasper
  4. I had a male when I was alot younger and fitter which flew on average around the 2lb 2oz's mark. you're right Blakloks its not far off the average female Harris... He lacked the length of toe with the female Harris but seemed thicker and more Knotty with a good powerful grip, he took a while to get fit but when he was would take on the most extra ordanary long slips from the tops of trees! you could see him looking in the distance with his head up glued on a target and off he would go way across the field followed by a quick barrel roll on bang!! straight onto his quarry, I also witnessed

definitely the one to join Dfee . any begginer contemplateing taking up falconry should join Jasper
  6. Nice one Dirtwinger , I have never taken any fur with a Longwing although I had a Pere/Prairie take a Interest and male Gyr/Saker in the past, It makes me wonder why this hasn't caught on so much in this country!! you can pick up a female Saker or Gyr/Saker these days for next to nothing..... Cheers Jasper
  7. Pm me Rabbitkiller!! I don't know how far you are willing to travel but there is a guy around here who litteraly breeds 100's of them and other owls..... I had one the other year off him and caught many Brown Hare's and Geese with it, sometimes even one in each foot when he was on song .... Jasp
  8. cracking way to start dfee! like ade said a redtail will learn you alot more in conditioning a hawk than if you take up a Harrishawk as your first bird, some redtails can gicve you the odd footing and nip when first being handled plus the manning will need to be more intense, once you get there though mate and get it in condition at the weight that suits the bird it will be all systems go .... By the way they're lovely looking dogs in the aviatar ... Jasper
  9. sorry lads I just made a few posts Invisable! they're not deleted and if you want to have it out on another forum I'll move them over to there? I did this on request and also because its not really fair to knacker up Yorkshirelass's thread on her new pup! I have no problem whatsoever about anyone having disagreements but feel for the lass .... don't take it personal lads as its not meant that way Jasper
  10. You Sir! are a cunning linguist....

  11. Nice one Derek! just out of interest what was the make and model of that camera again? Jasper
  12. It was up for grabs on the site pictures and all but no Genuine takers! Plenty of tyre kickers as usual but thats about it..... Jasper
  13. out of interest lads can the fumes kill or cause problems with the birds? the reason I ask is a Guy has a large paddock fence running just a few feet behind my aviaries, this year he Creosoted them with some of the old stuff! it was pretty strong we could smell it in the house a good 80ft away, I worried about is the birds Inhaleing it . thankfully it seems no harm has been done this time but its now bothering me when he does it in the future..... Jasper
  14. It was nice meeting you today Derek! I used to think in the past I was a good judge of caracter but this time I was 100% right you're a gennuine top man . It pisses me right off when the back stabbers have had a dig when they know nothing about you or your case. f**k em! and carry on fighting the good fight mate! you'll always have my support for what its worth.... I hope M will be pleased with the Peregrine for any future projects Cheers Jasper
  15. The Imprted Pajero has a few more extra gadjets to play with than the shogun! the 2.8 SWB Paj we had came with electronic adjustable Dampers, heated seats and just about everything, the shoguns I have seen have been pretty basic compared to the Paj.... Before we brought one I looked into them and the 2.5 Litre TDI models are fitted with a Timing belt, the 2.8 model is fitted with a timing chain, obviousley the 2.8 had plenty more grunt too! it passed everything except a petrol station ..... Jasper
  16. There's alot of Zander in the Middle Level drain around this way! a pal took a decent fish a few years ago on a ledgered roach out of the Middle level about the 15lb mark.... they're a lovely fish and als nice to eat too Jasper
  17. You'll certainly mug a few on the deck or take a few on the rise! I have yet to see one take a good game bird in fair flight yet although I have spoken to people in the past who have told me their Harris's have taken Pheasants out of the air in a good clean tail chase . I suppose it could happen at the beggining of the year when a few poults are about or perhaps a disabled Pheasant with half a ton of shot up its arse .... Jasper
  18. The wife came back from Farm Foods a few weeks back and somehow had a arguement with one of the posts in the car park . the story is she was reversing and couldn't see the post because it was on her blind side and bang! slammed straight into one.... Its not major just a verticle dent about 12 inches in from the drivers side but I now want to try and either knock some of it out! or get hold of a Decent secondhand D22 tail gate? in the past I have tried knocking dents out and found that its either stretched the metal or I end up putting more dings in the surface, the other problem with this
  19. very good .. My poor Fat balls get some hammer Kay! thankfully they get topped up each day ... there's nothing worse than seing a empty Ball bag left hanging there is there! I blame them Great tits swinging on my seed stick . Jasp
  20. Lovely Pictures Kay of the Robin and Tit . I had a pair of Tits hanging on my Seed stick and Nuts just this morning ..... Jasp
  21. There's alot of people who fly Harris's who feel the birds totaly adequate for all their needs, sometimes this allrounder fits in perfect wiith peoples lifestyles so they never feel the need to take on another species of bird. I take the piss out of them in jest but a good Harris will certainly fill the pot for you on virtually every occasion..... Having said that Redtails compared to Harris's are a great learning curve for anyone contemplateing a P/R Goshawk, temperament wise they're more arsey which requires more manning than the average Harris! Plus the flying condition range will be ti
  22. No offence meant mate but somewhere around £120 start price would have been bid down let alone £300 .... Its a nice gun but a realistic price would help get it shifted for you ....

    hunt

Its a good idea LH but Unfortunately I grounded my bird after the last small meet here.... perhaps something could be worked out for next season for a good crack and some sport , I'm sure we could all find a Pub for some grub and a good drink afterwards .... Jasper
  24. Spurs had a few chances in the Match! my 13 year old lad could take a better spot kick than than their penalty takers .... One down! four more to go in the trophy room this season . We'll win the Premier leagure this year with about 4 games left to play ...... Jasper
  25. A few pictures of the above Peregrine For Sale Incudeing one of her being Parent reared.... Jasper
