    Good post, nothing worse than double digs to jills or small hobs getting dragged about, especially when you are looking at digs that deep.

    Aye like the lads have said already, looks ok, give it a go. If you are really worried though, you could probs try fitting the ferrets with the new Deben ferret armbands, they are only £129.99, a bit pricey like we have come to expect, but i wouldn't enter a ferret without them!

    Its ages since i tried messing around with the combinations, did the 15 foot box knock slower with the 8 foot collar? or was it the other way round? Also i'm sure my MK1 box picked Andy 410's mk 3 collars up when i was out with him, but it knocked slower with that combo i think.

    Sorry to hear about that feller. Hope you get some justice. How many of you fellers think its just dumb kids doing it, or people that should know better? Years ago I had a few taken by some kids, luckily some young lads i knew found out about it, and got them back for me. Probably better that way!

    Depends on the warren, anything that could end up trouble then as said, probs 3 pm. Funny how sometimes you still find yourself digging like a maniac at 4pm as the light is fading. Better question though, do you stay put, or go home?

    My ferret has not been entered for weeks! I keep trying him around pipes, uinder the bush, but he wont go in. Might try him in a 3 holer next, i'm sure he's got to go in one of them!

    This is my thinking on it, i have eight at present, I could probably make do with four if I had the perfect ferret at the right age every year, four good ferrets could just about outwork me if I was out three days a week. Now the reason behind having a few, different ground, needs a different approach, some of the slopes and lowland are deep warrens, hence a couple of decent jills to move the rabbits, then on the high ground with shallow digs, a couple of decent hobs to get the job done fast with no nets.     You think they are building up again slowly mate? Yep but only with carefull management, lucky the rabbiters on the surrounding farms are not as dedicated, we are probs only averaging 20 or so, think next year we will be something like.

    Kind of mate, stiff wire in the shape of a "D" with the net tied to this and being a funnell shpe out behind, in principal the rabbit runs into the D end and is caught in the bag behind, I'm not sure if this would be any better than setting the purse nets like we do now, I would think the good thing is they wont collapse like a purse net can when it's set in a run, but maybe the down side is they wouldn't work both ways, in that if a rabbit hits it from behind and not through the D, I don't know if they wiil work.     Shame about the little feller, accidents happen. Terriers are a liabilty full stop, they are a dog without reason, built to do a job. Drop your guard for a second and it will be exploited. Like you said lessons learned, more secure housing in the future i think.
