Cheers Fort Augustus sounds good tbh and what i was thinking of. My misses is from Mexico so i want to show her some howling weather and some great scenery. Been to Edinburgh before but i just got hammered and she aint a great drinker. Cheers for the tips.

Thinking of taking my misses up to Edinburgh for a few days between Boxing Day and New Year with maybe a day or so further up in the highlands. Any one recommend anything thats stand out amazing in Edinburgh and any where that would be nice at this time of year round the highlands? I was going to go to York instead but some one mentioned Scotland and as ive never really been thought it would be abit of a change. Cheers

I would donate to his defense. In my eyes it can only be a different side to the same case. They have charged him after he made the case? Seems to me they would have charged him as soon as if they had any evidence, but they have just tried to use there huge resources to scare him off, knowing that even if they loose the public foot the bill. I would donate to his defence if doing so meant he could carry on pursuing the RSPCA with his case against them. I replied cause I thought the "anti fuckers" comment was aimed at me as it was just after I had posted. If it wasnt then my mistake. The "my killing is better than your killing" is an ignorant and fracturing attitude. I agree but then many people, myself included find the religious ritual slaughter totally unnecessary.

I said I would never condemn hunting in a way that I wouldn't do myself so i'm hardly an anti. No ones emotional at all apart from you seemingly. The elk video is a great one and really shows how effective a bow can be. The long distance shot though proves nothing to me other than the limitations of a bow. Strokes for folks but I think youd find it hard to argue that a bow is an as effective/ethical/lethal a tool than a rifle. The point about running a deer with hounds/lurcher id make is that it is non wounding. The length of "chase" a side the dispatching would be comparable to bow hunting a

Its not for me but I would would never call for banning some one elses sport. I can totally understand the will to get back to huntings roots and the added skill needed with regards to fieldcraft with bow hunting but the margin for error with bow hunting seems considerably smaller than the margin for error with a rifle. I truly believe we owe any animal we hunt the respect of a quick and sporting death, especially if it is for the sole purpose of sport and not for subsistence.

Might not be a popular opinion but im not totally against a wage increase for MPs, if they were payed more we might actually get some decent people in to do the job, people leaving jobs in which they are successful, instead of people who get into a career in politics because they would fail in a normal job.

To be fair he got asked the question and gave his opinion, he wasnt even too critical. Take this with a pinch of salt if you like but the back of Ray Mears landrover was knee deep in MacDonalds wrappers when he turned up to a talk he was giving us. I guess hes good at what he does, im sure hes infinatly better than me.

It just seems like a sell out to me. Id love to be wrong cause im a huge Metallica fan but I cant see how its anything other than a video which ends in a load of people hunting getting shot. If it was meant to be a middle finger to antis then it should have been more blatent. Seems to me that they have just tried to appease the vocal antis so they could play one of the best known festivals in the world...

Not that ive had much dealing with them but they seem to try and provoke people a lot of the time, probably best to avoid filling them in unless its self defense no matter how annoying. We are after all locked into a battle for public opinion and it would deffinatly be used against us if they could spin it against us.

A bit harsh to call some ones pet dog a barking piece of crap. It killed the raccoon for a start and its some ones pet. Maybe it doesnt meet your standards as a hunting dog but hay ho raccoons are by all accounts fairly nasty and what percentage of pets are just going to run in and tackle a cornered anything? As for the owners couldnt help but laugh at the pillock running round with the length of pipe.

No to national service, the Army is still something to be proud of and so are the vast majority of people coming through the door to join every week. Why spoil that with dross? Recruits certainly dont have more rights than NCOs The cards are a myth, if they ever existed then it was a short lived experiment years ago. Not being funny but whats that got to do with anything? There has always been scum, and if all the figures are to be believed then violent crime ect is trending downwards. No such thing as the good old days and lads and lasses still join up for the chance of a ruck so
