  1. ehehe i know. None taken. It was just a little useless tidbit of silly info i thought i would share
  2. I understand your point and agree with it . I realise it was tounge in cheek but i just wanted make a point that some people might not realise
  3. Just on a side note. British soldiers in afganistan (and iraq of old) see many more contacts per head that was ever seen in WWI or WWII. Just a small point.
  4. Do you have understanding of what its like to be a "Northerner", "Liverpudlian", from Pompey, ect ect ect? I guess not. I guess you dont realy realise these other local "traditions" exist. I, for instance, see myself as being more of a northerner then english. A good mate of mine is iranian by decent but is practicaly covered in england tats. Scotland is nothing soecial on this front. Your entitled to you wish for independance and i for one wouldnt want any one who doesnt want to be "British" (see the muslim protesters) in this country of ours. But for you to imply that your feelings of local
  5. hi ive seen before that Signal Crayfish are uncommon in the northwest. Does any one know of any rivers in the Wigan, Chorley area that hold them? Thanks
  6. Its just feed and accessorys he sells. in the north west. I used to do saturdays and holidays for him when i was a lad so ive not worked there for a while but its not been good for years. Its an old family buisness which my grandad set up and in the good old days was very proffitable. But thesedays with the larger buisnesses kicking around he justcant compete as well. I think its mostly stuff like the collors beds ect, treats, and exotic oets food that hes selling. Good luck though with it all
  7. With regard to the pet shop side i wouldnt bother tbh. I guess it would be ok if you found a niche but my dad is in this line of buisness and hes not far from packing in i dont think. the problem come from most people buy pet food with the weekly shop and the prices the suppermarket offer its just not possable for the small buisness to compete with. I guess with th hunting accessorys part it might be ok as you cant buy that all to readly. TBH tho i would have thought something like an online buisness would be better. Just my thoughts as you asked for them.

    Jobs

Soldier in the Royal Engineers. Fun job to any one thinking of joining up id say go for it. Get to work in a (mostly) profesional enviroment with a load of good blokes. Sometimes the hours are great sometimes not so, which unfortunatly leaves me no time for mooching about myself so i have to read about every one else doin it here.
  9. Hi. Iive not got a (working) dog due to work atm but when time permits i will get one. I was wondering of the advantage the saluki brings to a whippet. Is it purly the stamina? How good was the cross on big bunnys pre-ban? An what in your opinion is the advanatge of this cross over something like a beddie/whippet. Thanks
  10. Mine was a blue tit (not proud of it ). My mate had just shot one and i looked over the fence to see this blue tit flapping around. I assumed he winged it so shot it. On closer inspection it was another one who i guess was trying to get his mate up off the floor. Felt abit jack for that as im not one for wanting to shoot anything. My second was a magpie sat on my chicken shed and was proud of that
  11. Just out of interest does or did any one run there dogs around Sailsbury Plain area? I understand on the training area is quite dodgey stoney and what not but having seen alot of the game that got ran pre ban there i would have thought it would be a good place to go. If you do go whats the official MoD line on it do you have to get permision or can you just cut around?
  12. Hi. My first post. Something Ive always been interested in and would like to get into if i had more time would be working a lurcher of some sort. But thats beside the point I would like to know when a dog is refered to a bull x, what kind of bull is it? Are we talking English Bull? Bulldog? Or could it be any of the differant "Bull's". Thanks in advance.
